  1. Re- Jk's Whiterun; my initial impression of this with Dawn of "", Better City Entrances and Sewers is positive. Followers (Lydia & Vilja) managed the transition into and out of the sewers from outside Warmaidens and under the drawbridge. Exterior assets looked proper, I didn't notice clipping or other issues (the Better Entrances bridge looked fine with JK's pickets & towers). I don't have Nernie's exterior in play so no feedback on that front.
  2. Its just the DDSopt guide from STEP done & uploaded for the novice/lazy modder, correct? When/if BethSoft orders it taken down folks can just come here and do there own DDSopt-imization per the guide. A "PSA" could be added to the STEP page at that point, maybe incorporated into the Nexus description so that the Nexus search function brings up the STEP page over there for texture optimization searches.
  3. STEP Core & even STEP Extended mods should be safe for your Helgen intro. I would suggest AS-LAL even if you want to do the Helgen escape, the prison cell character creation is more stable then trying to do it with the intro running & then you can just select "caught crossing the border". Regarding Helgen Reborn, you might want to wait to install it (as in check the box in MO's left pane) after you help a certain dog in Falkreath due to navigation issues.
  4. Since MO is a powerful tool, you can do some proactive troubleshooting as well, use the information windows conflicts tab to look for script conflicts. I find Amazing Follower Tweaks doesn't work as desired when it's scripts are overwritten, so I make sure to place it after TES Arena Frontier Fortress for example, similar with mods that fight over the mining script. MO may still fire off the warning, but afterwards I place my problematic mods back to non-conflicting locations in the order and the warnings settle out. I'm thinking that's to be expected when we force scripts that weren't intended to work with each other into the same game session.
  5. I didn't notice screen shake, but I was in 3rd person (my usual) and looking around so I could have missed that. No, they definitely weren't immediately hostile. I was able to follow the perimeter sentry on the return leg of his patrol route (it was easy to walk behind outside of detection cone), and with a bit of work avoid runnning and stay out of of his vision when he turned back to head out. It was the approach to the city gate that was problematic as there are two guards (perhaps more?) with their backs to the city wall and no way to get more than 90 degrees off center. It seemed that they detected me as I drew even with the stables, I believe one of them hustled down the stairs, but the sun was setting behind the city wall so what I actually saw was a guard charging across the killzone from the direction of (base of) the stairs to confront me over my bounty (whats 2000 septim between friends, friendo? ).
  6. I'm figuring out how to add hunter merchant package to Druadach denizen(s) to make my natives hunting exploits profitable, sounds like you've gone and made it downright respectable, planning road trip to Rorikstead after the next mammoth hunt (I don't have a bounty in Whiterun, might as well make some friends). You mentioned the Become a Highwayman mod in a previous posting, I might pair that with your horse procurement idea on the road to Riverwood, Helgen & Dragonsreach (might as well make some enemies). Guard factions of the walled cities might need quarried stone with a civil war in th offing. I'm not sure where pottery best fits in economy, , maybe at the farms, but potters could use clay. Finally, I posted on the Hunterborn page: Here's a thought about cooking recipes that springboards off your Falmer disguise potion idea, add an effect to Dogmeat Stew (and any other dog related cusine, in RL canines can tell if they have been on your menu recently by your odor, and before you ask: no, I haven't) that causes you to be an enemy to the Dog Faction temporarily. I was going to suggest the same for Equine dishes, but I'm not seeing a Horse Faction ... looks like horses are in the Prey Faction, along with a lot of other disparate actors.
  7. Yup, I need to move the FCO plugins to optional. That being said (and thanks btw I missed that) you are looking for a list of what I find, or am I just taking of my own patching needs here?
  8. From the GQDC Nexus comments; Saerileth posts:All of the dragon claw textures and meshes from RCI 2.8 cause problems. My meshes use both default and ebony textures as well as their normal maps, so you will need the 2.7 versions for all of these or the gemstone claws will have mismatched patterns. You cannot use the meshes included with RCI for the other claws (iron etc.) because those depend on the new texture layout, using them with the 2.7 textures will result in mismatches on those claws. Here's a full list of the textures you will need from the 2.7 archive: - textures/clutter/ruins/ruinsdragonclaw01.dds- textures/clutter/ruins/ruinsdragonclaw01_n.dds- textures/clutter/ruins/ruinsdragonclawebony.dds- textures/clutter/ruins/ruinsdragonclawebony_n.dds- textures/clutter/ruins/ruinsdragonclawiron.dds Delete the diamond texture, without the RCI meshes it isn't needed. EProctor (that's me) posts:Okay, makes sense. MO users can install RCI v2.7 and then v2.8 after, then "hide" the textures you list in the info window for v2.8 and the v2.7 textures will be used and the other (non-claw related) v2.8 contents will be used for everything else. Thanks for the "heads up", I'll let you get back to you Mod Organizer installation (I assume you're switching over as we type ).
  9. Okay, decks are cleared, F&L MO profile is up to date, FNV has my full attention. I've got NVR3 opened up ... and I'll admit I'm not sure what I'm looking for. For example, I see that NVR3 wins a conflict with FCO in the RNAM category, would this mean a RNAM tag is needed for Wrye Flash to correctly patch? If so should I be creating a list to be submitted to you/LOOT?
  10. That is odd, I've never encounterd that myself, although I thought I remembered seeing something like that mentioned in an magic casting animation replacer (name escapes me). I would start disabling non-STEP mods one at a time to determine which is the culprit ("Witcher type stuff"), & try looking at FNIS and making sure the correct boxes are checked.
  11. Oh, did I have it backwards, does NOT having Immersive Animations cause the problem? Re- STEP instructions, if they need worded better or more complete you could post that under 2.2.9 Bugs (or even update it yourself if its wiki, just comment your edit).
  12. Could we use MO's hide option to disable the RCI changes that affect GQDC? >> edit after reading mod comments: @ Saerileth: you should switch to MO, really, trust me. Re- RCI incompatibility: MO shows Mesh conflicts (sapphire, ruby, glass, emerald, diamond) with GQDC, if GQDC is placed after RCI in the left (install) pane it wins the conflicts. Can you list the RCI textures that don't "conflict" but cause the problem (I'm guessing just diamond?), MO users can "hide" those in the RCI mod using the mod information window.
  13. Are you using an animation replacer, perhaps to compliment Dual Sheath. I believe that issue comes from a replaced casting animation? Also, consider this from the DSR page: Immersive Animations - Animations to go with this mod. Please install BEFORE XP32 Maximum Skeleton, as one of the options in the mod installs an outdated version of said skeleton that could cause issues later on.
  14. Yes, I've got a very basic understanding of FNVEdit/TES5Edit. I'll give it a go, RTFMing now . I've got both games, I haven't done anything with F03 (just picked it up for TTW), but I can DL mods for both.
  15. I like the first option, but the second may be more popular. If you go the second route, maybe the supplemental page with instructions can also be available? What's involved on LOOT masterlist updating? If it's gathering and updating mod information my download connection has been reliable lately, PM me instructions and a list of what needs done if that will save you time (same goes for any other entry level items on your F&L to do list, as long as instructing me how to do it isn't more work than doing it yourself ).
  16. No reason you couldn't do a STEP Pack. If you use the right EBD settings you can scale Bosmer to be hobbits (just don't call them that). It might be fun to do an almost but not quite (maybe a little tongue in cheek) conversion to non specified Midgard with a Band of Bosmer (oops, approaching another IP) against a necromancer lord. A pack would let you leverage existing assets (like the aforementioned Markarth the White City) and you could then create a quest mod to go with / be dependant on the pack. Or have a brownie and watch a LOTR re-run (insomnia be damned I've got a plan).
  17. I tried on foot as well, walking & running. Staying behind the guards (horsed or not) worked, but detection range made approaching the city gate impossible. I also noticed there are a lot of guards in Markarth (just like I didn't how many motorcycles are on the road before riding one daily), that would make even discreet trips to the city problematic (although this trip would be better termed "screet"). Thank Convenient Horses for my pimped out ride (big game hunters tack). I'm wearing Immersive Armors guard collection btw.
  18. As part of my ongoing Forsworn antics I gave the Markarth guard getup a go (armor, helmet, shield & generic guard boots & gloves), it didn't end well. I entered the Markarth city outskirts keeping a low profile, alas to no avail. The guards were fooled while I stayed behind them, but their detection range forward seems to be about a bow shot. I was unable to approach within site of the Markarth stables without the gate guard detecting me from on high and challenging me over the price on my head. I'm relatively low level, so my Sneak skill is in the low 40's and my Illusion is the default Breton.
  19. Don't give up, "all who wander are not lost".
  20. Good grief, those pics make my Glock 21 look like toy! EssArrBee, on 19 Aug 2014 - 8:13 PM, said: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/56752/? Looks like a little gem. An addon to NVInteriors Project. That is a great view, I really like with he did with the comp suite. Did ya catch the TTW dialog in first pic?
  21. Well, all that stuff I mentioned isn't going anywhere, you can take it down in bite-sized pieces. Install STEP Core with 1k textures and run about in the world a bit, get a feel for it. To that end, you might add Alternate Start Live Another Life, it will let you skip the Helgen tutorial (you start in a prison cell, pick your look through the race menu then commune with a statue of Mara to pick an alternate start, like camping in the woods near Riverwood, then you go play). Mod Organizer will be really handy down the road (so be sure to use that instead of NMM) as you can create copies of your current "profile" (all the mods and settings you're using) to try new mods (possibly untested, not from the STEP guide), or to play new characters (each profile can have its own mod list, settings, local saves) - plenty of time for all that later.
  22. I sadly don't have much experience with the Civil War, but is there a standard Charge! or Attack! signal you could leverage? I notice that my follower produced a war horn and called for a horse with it when I saddle up, maybe that animation and sound could be used by enemies that successfully detect the player (I know Convenient Horses was producing the effect I mention, but maybe the animation is a vanilla asset?).
  23. Markarth the White City is a great Minas Tirith treatment on Dwemer architecture btw. If you use copyrighted voice assets you may have trouble uploading / maintaining the mod on the Nexus & / or have to deal with a take down order from the rights holder. It's an awesome idea, I'd love to see you pull that off, who doesn't love LOTR.
  24. I'd recommend you follow the 2.2.9 STEP Core + Extended guide with an eye for 1k graphics options. Be sure and follow the instructions for enboost (or an enb preset, like Minimal ENB by Ewi65) and SKSE as they both offer powerful memory management / extension features. Find the time to read the DDSopt guide here as soon as you can - the vanilla + HRDLC texture optimizing is automated through available batch files and should be helpful. Finally, with what you've learned from all that give the Guide to running SR:LE & REGS packs with ENB a look for more performance options (its designed to max out for 2 gb cards, but should still be helpful even if you have to make some cuts / choices). Oh, and keep posting your questions when you are sure you are stuck, lots of help to be found here. Good luck, fun times ahead and lots to discover since 2012.
