I don't understand what the "uncut patch (exe file)" is that you installed.

FO3LODGEN allows generation of object LOD for the Worldspaces in Fallout 3 using objects that are "visible from distant" from the current load order. There are already equivalent mods for TES5 (Skyrim), TES4 (Oblivion), and Fallout NV (not yet available). Details of how to use the Fallout 3 version are available on the Nexus page. This will be added to the Clear and Present Danger Fallout 3 guide once it has tested with the mods in the guide so that instructions and recommendations specific to this guide can be added.

Thanks. I'll add the Mist retexture mod from FO3 Nexus. Hosting on Nexus is probably the easiest solution, although we can link to other sites if you prefer.

Mod Organizer FOSE installing with FO3 GOTY
Kelmych replied to sutex's question in Mod Organizer Support
Could you post the CRC-32 value for the Fallout3.exe you are using; this would be the file that has been modified by using the LAA progam. In another ongoing thread we found that GrantSP and I have the same value for this but the user having problems had a different CRC for his executable. We are still trying to determine how that happened for the other user.- 88 replies

I interpreted the question differently; I thought the question was whether this mod would work if STEP Core was installed or if there are comparability problems. I'm not sure of the answer to that question. It will take some work using TES5Edit.

My estimate is 10-12 hours if you have the infrastructure of utilities and Steam done. The texture replacers don't cause problems in the save game if you don't include them,so there are a number of mods that can be installed later if you want. Setting the Ini parameters for Fallout and Enboost always seems to take time.

The obge site had documentation, not the files. Get the files from Nexus.

It's a shame that this mod didn't seem to look at compatibility with other popular Winterhold College mods; it would be useful to have more such mods that are compatible. The Worldspace records for the two mods don't look like they are easy to deconflict with a patch, as keithinhanoi pointed out in his post on the Nexus page for this mod.

Go to the Steam\steamapps directory. Look at what is in appmanifest_22370.acf (22370 is the steam id for Fallout 3 GOTY). If you don't have such a file then there is a problem as you have some other version of Fallout 3 GOTY. These are text files by the way. Here is what I have (leaving off a few lines that should not matter): [spoiler=Fallout 3 GOTY manifest]"AppState" { "appID" "22370" "Universe" "1" "name" "Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition" "StateFlags" "4" "InstallDir" "Fallout 3 goty" "LastUpdated" "1419906400" "UpdateResult" "0" "SizeOnDisk" "9474203596" "buildid" "252141" "BytesToDownload" "1474594816" "BytesDownloaded" "1474594816" "AutoUpdateBehavior" "1" "AllowOtherDownloadsWhileRunning" "0" "UserConfig" { "name" "Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition" "gameid" "22370" "language" "english" }

I have the same CRC-32 for my my fallout 3 as GrantSP. I originally bought the retail CD for Fallout 3 (not GOTY) but later bought the Steam version of Fallout 3 GOTY, and I used Steam to get the files for my Fallout 3 GOTY directory. I have run the Large Address Enabler program on my fallout3.exe file; I expect that RevReese has also done this as per the guide.

I fixed it once but I can't find the notes on what plugin caused it, and I haven't been able to tell by looking at the Wrye Flash save game plugin list. It was a plugin that could be turned off and then back on without causing problems with the save game. Try Rockopolis Rebuilt. It wasn't enabled when I was in Vernon Square.

For many users FO3 won't hook properly with Steam when FO3 is run under MO. I can use Steam to download the game, and I can have Steam running while using the game, but there is no coupling of Steam to the game itself when it starts under MO. I including some pointers to discussions of this in the Troubleshooting section of the guide. I have no idea why this happens. That doesn't seem to be what happens with your FO3 since you seem to need Steam properly hooked with FO3 while running.

ACCEPTED Clothing & Clutter Fixes (by kryptopyr)
Kelmych replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
At least what you added might reduce some of the PMOP questions. I moved the instructions you added on the script file from CCF to WAF. Since CCF installs first the script hiding in WAF is now needed if CCF is also used. -

Until WAF is updated again I'll change the STEP wiki instructions for CCF and WAF to use the newer script from CCF. When I read the scripts it looked like the CCF one was newer (there was an additional parameter on two of the calls). -

The versions of this scripts in the current CCO and WAF are slightly different. Kryptopyr will probably need to answer which version of the script should be used. -
My setup is similar to GDSfan's. The "C" drive is on an SSD which has Windows and drivers, and user data. Games, including Steam and the various game utilities, are on "D" on an HDD. Skyrim and Fallout NV are on a separate SSD. Fallout 3 is currently on an HDD until I get a bigger SSD for the games. No games, or game utilities like Steam, are ever put in a UAC directory, and no applications are in a UAC directory unless it's the only place they can be installed. Wrye Bash/Wrye Flash are installed in the game folder. Other game utilities are not.

That approach seems a bit extreme to me. I've been able to get Fallout 3 and Wind 8.1 64 bit working together, not without some problems of course. I'm not sure how that approach, which in part requires using Windows 8 in a Windows XP compatibility mode, will work with the utilities such as ENBoost, Fallout Stutter Reducer, and New Vegas Anti-Crash that are used in this guide.

If you have recommended guide instructions let us know so they can be added.

I'm not sure what you mean by a Stealthboy hotkey. If you set the Stealth device mode in FWE to 1 (vanilla) then stealth boys work as they do in vanilla, and there is no hotkey in vanilla. You click it and it starts and it stays on until is done. FWE has a hotkey (Sneak button) which only works if you use the FWE stealth device mode. For me this mode works fine for stealth armor, and is problematic with stealth boys. In the guide I suggested using stealthboys as vanilla devices, which does not include a hotlkey.

You find information on Grassias Fixas in this thread. You'll find the search function on the forums is quite useful in finding posts on topics, especially when the topic has an unusual spelling.- 307 replies

The ''In Game Settings'' section of the guide covers game configuration. As part of this section there is a Control Panel Menu Settings guide that covers the parameters for the game and mod devices mentioned in the guide. It's likely the discussion of configuring the Stealth Boy in this guide will cover the problem you have; if this doesn't provide the solution let us know.

To sleep - perchance to dream instructions

I fixed this and some other small errors. Thanks for mentioning them. -
Thanks Adonis. I'll check on rehosting suggestions from the STEP staff.

To sleep - perchance to dream instructions
Kelmych replied to fartflower's topic in Fallout 3 - Clear & Present Danger
The installation instruction line got lost. Install only the optional textures; fixed now in the guide. -
If you aren't using FWE to provide editing of game parameters you might find Arwens Realism Tweaks useful.
