Advertisement: Recruting for 4e Campaign on RPG Crossing
phazer11 replied to WilliamImm's topic in Step Banter Inn
Alright a few friends of mine have been needling me to join a D&D campaign. I don't know if they have any 4e books though. I have little knowledge of straight up D&D and what I do know is from Forgotten Realms (mostly the novels) so even then it's not straight D&D. I'd join otherwise. Also you have another user referred give yourself a cookie. -
You know it probably has nothing to do with it but what are the speeds (rpm) of the HDD's you're using? I know Neo and I have SSD's and I never have ILS's. I have backup's for most things from March 2013 to now and from slightly before I registered on the forums here to October. Yeah... it's a but ton.

Of course with my SSD I blink and I miss the loading screens anyways so lmao I can't mess with the rotation any more plus it's just as well the loading screen plugins ate up esp slots. -
Nope I'm not... this goes back to my comment from yesterday in the ENB patch thread.

I updated my playlist if anyone cares.

1st STEP install - Succsess - but a few remaining questions!
phazer11 replied to frozenreads's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Or just start using Mod Organizer and create STEP backup profile, and save yourself A LOT of space on your hard drive... ;) I have 4Tb of storage Ok... I have 10 or 11TB what's your point? Rootsrat was just telling you so you could save some space. Most users here (at least the staff) play off of SSD's so freeing up space is necessary. If you don't need to save the space or choose not to that's your choice, he was just telling you a way to save some. -
CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
phazer11 replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
That's one thing that kills me about most modders (and people in general) they "update", "upgrade", "trade-up" etc far too often and then they complain when there are problems, especially when it's mostly their fault anyways for being too indulgent. I'll be using .207 until there's an actual better version out there. -
I'd say you should be mostly ok I would however have to suggest cutting back on your texture mods to all 1k (downloading Skyrim HD Lite -- which are 2k textures -- and DDSOpt it to 1k) Not to mention the extra number of things it animates. Doesn't it increase the range at which things like falling leaves are rendered in the Rift and other similar places.

Um... ultimate fail seriously people do the stupidest things, of course does Nexus ban via IP cluster or... Unless they do and I doubt it. I doubt there would be anthing stopping him from making another account, changing the name of the mod and maybe changing the content subtly and viola it's back. Of course he might upload to TES Alliance or some such... which reminds me I need to check Real Shelter.

I played EQ2 but it didn't have much staying power for me and I'd only had a two week free trial (or whatever the longest one you could get was). A couple of my friends had the collectors edition so I got a little bit of a free ride. It's a bit deserted now from what I hear. They had stopped playing and we started playing league in a group and they came back to it and said it was a virtual ghost town.

I cried when WoW came out. It ruined an awesome series. No more sequels to the RTS series and they completely stomped on the lore established in the books. FTL indeed. I played PWI for a while was a general in a guild or whatever that rank was then had a spat with the leader. To be honest the only thing that made that game playable was the gifts I occasionally got through the other members because I helped them out a lot. The mounts and stuff were super expensive like 30 bucks for the lowest mount which was a polar bear (I was gifted one and it made the game bearable since I could harvest items without switching servers) Of course the other thing was how much grinding you had to do at the higher levels. I was like level 89 (out of 100 or 120 I can't remember which) and my daily quests were maybe leveling me up every couple to three weeks (which considering they were like 4500-6000k a piece and I had 15 of them...) Yeah... the only online games I'll consider now are League and the occasional game of Starcraft and Starcraft II on Battlenet.

Well first off each card and system is different. I may have one set of numbers while running an identical rig to yours down to our parts being from the same batch number and cloning your OS and Mod Manager. It's one of the reasons STEP doesn't have an absolute system since it's all so up in the air. The best we can do is give general advice on the minimum parts for baseline. Another is they weren't using an ENB and game resolution also plays a factor. If you're using an ENB the newer version uses more VRAM than vanilla since it reduces the amount of RAM used by the engine.

What level should be Crossbow available from?
phazer11 replied to rootsrat's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
FTFY Neo. -
No they are talking about Anise the Summoner living in that cabin north west of Riverwood.

I always make a copy of the skyrim directory and put it on a disc or separate (usually portable) HDD whenever I update or install something new like the DLC's so I don't have to download them again if I FUBAR it since they aren't included on the legendary edition disc (seriously wtf it's just the same as my 11/11/11 copy of the skyrim disc but with a fancier silkscreen image on top). Granted you shouldn't really have anything in the Skyrim directory but the files for your ENB if you're using Mod Organizer.
-
Well I don't have a problem with getting rid of some of the redundancy but I feel the succinctness would be better placed if it were moved around. I know the instructions and descriptions are there but they are in the section after the one I am talking about.

Alright I'll take a look at it tomorrow with a fresh set of eyes mine are pretty much shot I got about an hour of sleep.

Loading Screen object rotation
phazer11 replied to rootsrat's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
I knew because I used to play Skyrim from a HDD and the loading screens used to take forever so I used to click around and found this out one day. -
Also to make it clear you should edit the 7z.exe bit to say that 7z.exe should be placed in the Vanilla Optimized Folder and not the main working directory.

Oh yeah they're 3D models just like the ones in the inventory when you see the representation. There are just different ones. -
No I'm only talking about the vanilla textures. The guide doesn't specify what general STEP Core resolution is. So I was just wanting to clear it up for STEP users that the baseline is say... 1k for baseline for all textures to give them a reference point so they can choose to resize the vanilla textures if they think they'll need it. I'll probably be able to clear up most of this in the video I'm just making suggestions. I could also use your and Zed's input on the thread I made in the Tester section.
