  1. I looked at this a while ago because the other maps were getting tiresome. From the screenshots I like texture 2 but never got around to looking at it in game. The thing I don't like about it is it doesn't have all of the roads. @roots which texture is that you posted (texture one I think)?
  2. Any updates? I just got around to trying out the pre-optimization and everything ran smoothly. I'm in Optimize the Textures portion of the guide and, for clarity I think you should specify which set of settings should be applied for the vanilla files for STEP Core. I'll assume the "Higher Quality, Ordinary textures" for now though I think STEP Core is generally 1k. I know this is more detailed lower in the steps liek step 3 but most people will be confused if you simply say "ensure that the application is configured according to the preceding screenshots" If I hadn't already looked throught he entire guide and known what I was doing I would have likely sat there trying to figure out which of the screenshots you were telling me to follow. Also you should probably add that people should archive there extracted vanilla files and save them somewhere (I know I'll be mentioning it in the video) and personally I would have the batch files move the files into the new directories instead of copying them which I don't know about you takes up a ton of space for me and I'm doing this on a SSD.
  3. Which version did you install? I think several people have reported problems with the latest one. I'm using version 303 with no problems.
  4. Well I'm removing it if that tells you anything. I'm fairly certain it's the cause of many of my freezes especially the ones in the wilderness (which happen after or during fights so blood does splatter almost 100% of the time I do get a crash). I haven't seen anything in the logs when I have them enabled but after talking with Aiyen and a few others after doing some research into it I figure it's safer to remove it from the equation and put it out of my mind. To be quite honest I can live without the extra blood effects and such, I'll probably take the textures out and package them separately so I don't have vanilla blood but that's probably about it.
  5. And of course you're going to be using Aiyen's ENB as the official ENB now right? Sorry couldn't help it I like it better than any of the others I've tried. Though, I haven't given Unreal a shot yet.
  6. Question... are you using ASIS? I'd like to see you BOSS log before saying anything.
  7. Yeah I'm waiting on your grass textures slacker!. *cracks whip*
  8. They're just not I don't know the right term for it. Not lore friendly isn't technically true in the case of Winter Edition and I believe CoT Sounds conflicts with SoS. Plus it's a matter of preference, I personally don't like it and it also needs different versions of Sounds of Skyrim IIRC.
  9. What are you people necromancers?
  10. Well first I would make sure you have anythign non essential files moved onto your HDD. Skyrim with all DLC's eat up about 15GB of space without texture optimization. I think Skyrim Revisited eats up about 29GB for me but I'd have to check. If you're able to trim things down I'd do so and keep Skyrim on your SSD. Move your Skyrim archives to your HDD (if you follow good practice and made a archive of your install directory after you installed the game, and the DLCs).
  11. You are a mod... Weird must have refreshed or something I was on RLO page a few hours ago when I tried posting this... Carry on...
  12. Alright Will, and you too Neo give me some locations!... please. I'm quite upset about losing my location list.
  13. Oh I was speaking of the Langley textures and where to find them to do the compares between it, vanilla and other mods. Perhaps you would be so kind as to move the last 5-13 posts to somewhere more appropriate?
  14. I wasn't thinking clearly the other night and it of course occurred to me to look at the batch files in Notepad++ once I got to thinking of it (instead of trying to run it and read as the batch file executed too fast to read lmao) . It seems like it got rid of the extraneous textures though I'm not sure, I looked for a few and couldn't find them but can't say for sure. I'll try the new ones. as well.
  15. From the sound of it you're looking for a simple yet nice and easy to follow base for your skyrim modding experience. Hence I would recommend you follow the STEP guide choose the mods you like and then if you feel confident about TES5Edit use Neovalen's TES5Edit instructions (from Skyrim Revisited) to help make things more stable and maybe try out a few more mods. I wouldn't concern yourself with all the new politics we staff members are throwing around. We're really just trying to inform the public about what's going on and we're still working out the kinks. One of the biggest is of course which mods are for STEP and what is for the STEP add-ons (The PACKS so to speak like Skyrim Revisited). I hope this helps! Happy modding.
  16. Oh I'll do the texture compares soon sometime before say Wednesday. I need to sit down and do the DDSOpt video I hope tomorrow weather permitting. I won't do the performance compare as I said before since I have no way to accurately post the results and read outs.
  17. Yeah I know a lot just require so much time to find the good spots. Langleys is a PITA I lost my list of spots. I also need to do the DDSOpt video and I REALLY want to do an actual playthrough (which I haven't done in AGES)
  18. You are? Well I guess Z has to approve everyone individually I had to message him before it started working (though he said he didn't do anything). Anyways on topic I don't feel like doing any more compares right now for this maybe in a week or so.
  19. I'll do the texture compares but the rest... I still don't have a reliable way of capturing performance data since Skyrim Performance Monitor doesn't seem to be able to capture via the normal in game screenshot any more it used to but...
  20. Go ahead and tick the vsync checkbox I have mine enabled along with the one in ENB whenever I'm on my personal profile it sounds a bit redundant but maybe it'll help.
  21. You're using Mod Organizer right? If so download Skyrim Congfigurator and add it as an executable to Mod Organizer. Then run it and give me a screenshot of the default tab.
  22. Change bFull Screen=1 to bFull Screen=0 in your skyrimprefs.ini that will make it so the borderless window actually works then see if you have the tearing. I think you said you did this already but humor me please. Right now you are playing in fullscreen mode so that plugin isn't working or able to work I should say.
  23. Are you using or have you tried a borderless window plugin like Viruseks?
  24. Nope still no luck. Maybe give me a directory and a texture name to see if it's there and if it is troubleshoot it from there?
