Having WB use MO's mod directory
phazer11 replied to electricgeneral's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Oh huh I forgot to comment the relative path out. Though I have changed the rest to C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim Mods as well now with their other folders appended of course. Now it still does not fix the problem of Wrye and BOSS not launching from Mod Organizer they both still just splash on the screen and disappear -

Ok still no luck I tried uncommenting the lines. I did not change any of the instances of C:\Users\Wrye. Still nothing happens and BOSS still doesn't work. Should I make a new thread as this is also about my BOSS issue? Here's a copy of the latest bashi.ini it is supposed to be in my C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Mopy folder right? -

So I need to uncomment all f the lines and also replace all instances of Wyre with my user name? My Mod Organizer Settings and info on the targets of the executable to open boss through Mod Organizer are in the screenshot above below the Bashi.ini settings. -

Ok, so I installed everything, followed SIG to the letter again. Now I'm trying to run Wyre Bash from Mod Organizer and as before Wyre Bash won't open. Skyrim is installed to C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim I'm posting the Wyre Bash bash.ini that was generated at install (I did not have to rename anything though it says Wyre Bash 299 instead of 300, I did customize it though I know I must have something wrong) Edit: Seeing it here makes it look different than either Notepad or Notepad++ I assume all of the following instances of Wyre need to be replaced with my username? Also I almost forgot but here is a screenshot of my Mod Organizer Settings Also I cannot get BOSS(BOSS.exe) to run correctly the cmd box comes up and says I have the latest version installed and then it closes, I tried switching the target to the BOSS GUI.exe but it worked even less. -

I have, however I think there may have been registry settings leftover which caused the issue. I'm going to Revo it and terminate everything with extreme prejudice. I really hate windows, if the performance hit wouldn't be horrendous I'd just assume run all of my 'essential' Winblows programs in WINE. I'll post again if I run into anymore problems, which knowing me and Wrye Bash is more than likely. -

I did try that but Steam insisted on trying to download a complete copy of skyrim (which is especially annoying because I have the disc) -

Ok, I'll look at this in the morning but just out of curiosity can Wrye Bash, etc be installed to program files with UAC disabled? Trying to move skyrim somewhere else with the mover just created more headaches for me when I don't need UAC anyways (though I do have it on the lowest setting). -
NMM should still be able to download decently without dildoing itself, but I digress. I actually read both of those guides and the Skyrim install guide (for the mod mangers section) before posting here. I didn't see anything in the wrye bash thread and I went back 2-3 pages. As I said I'm hopeless when it comes to Wrye Bash the guide helped me none.

Ok... I'm having trouble getting Wrye Bash and BOSS to work through Mod Organizer. I've looked through a few sites including on the wiki here but no luck. Of course I kinda expected Wrye Bash to not work since I can't get it to work even with a guide lmao! I must say though that it is REALLY... REALLY SAD that Mod Organizer's downloader is both faster and able to resume better than NMM.

What's your setup and what kind of fps do you get with those disabled? If you don't mind me asking.
-
Anyone have any ideas?
-
I'd prefer it to be CoT compatible but if the performance isn't there then it won't much matter.

Hi everyone! Ok, so here's the deal. I like Pineapple Vision ENB (I prefer the DARK version but I'm using SynCOT for Climates of Tamriel ATM) the problem is the performance hit is incredible. I go from a solid 45-53 FPS to 8-25 FPS the usual range for the latter being from 9-17 FPS. I don't mind Fimbulvinter but it's a bit washed too washed out. All in all I need a decently performing ENB that enhances color, helps set the mood in dungeon (somewhat like Realistic Lighting With Customization's Vision Setting for Dungeons ETC, something that darkens dungeons so it's not like being outside and not so much that I have to hold a torch or equip a lantern to scratch my nose) I have disabled DOF and that gave me about 5 FPS. Another part of the problem I hear is that the Climates of Tamriel version is using the 117 Beta of ENB which is apparently even more of a resource hog than usual. I've looked at the comparision package with all the images but can't decide plus it doesn't give me any idea how hard they hit performance. Ideas?

I suppose that it might be possible to use that texture comparison tool (there's a thread on it here somewhere) to pick and choose the textures you want, it might get tedious and involve trial and error but, idk I'll look into when I have the time. I'll try it out with slof's horses first then with the white sabercat (I don't like slof's red version as much for some reason)

How do I make a Skyrim Character Preset and Possibly More
phazer11 replied to phazer11's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Setting the sliders gets tedious after a while (doing it several times I also like to use alternate start mods so I don't sit through that cutscene again. Well it doesn't seem so pressing now that my migraine is gone, I'm going to delete my skyrim folder and unpack my .rar (man I wish I had a pre 1.6.89.0 patch, HDD crashed; backup was corrupted) I'm also going to give Wrye Bash another go, I'd still like to know how to do this, if anyone here knows how to make presets I'd appreciate the knowledge. -
How do I make a Skyrim Character Preset and Possibly More
phazer11 replied to phazer11's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Well I'm more looking for something that allows me to have a clean save. or instance I have a default female character I make which takes about 10 minutes for me to be satisfied everything's right and I have a default male that takes about 5 minutes to make. I'd like to streamline this process so one of the Preset Sliders well presets is for my custom character. -
How do I make a Skyrim Character Preset and Possibly More
phazer11 posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
Hello all, as the name implies I want to create a character preset so I don't have to fiddle with my settings to get the look I want in order to make a clean save. I'd like to be able to just go through the sliders and pick MY character and then be off. As I never play with mods off I never have clean saves even if they are mostly clean. Of course I would have to have the hair mods, face mods, etc enabled for the preset to work right but, any ideas? I think I've seen something called Kawaii Face Presets but I think that's for females only, I think there's another called inhabitants of skyrim, and extended skyrim presets as well. -
So it should be fine on SRO, Skyrim 2k Textures, Riften HQ Textures, etc, but not Skyrim Flora Overhaul or WATER? Also from my readings it looked like this part of the guide is outdated (except for filtering the png) when using the pre-release for version 8? 4. IMPORTANT Texture filters - textures\interface\books\ of the STD vanilla textures contains many PNG files that do not need to be processed. Use the filter in the center of the Browser Tab to type in a "*.png" wildcard, then click the [Apply] button, unselect the files, remove the "*.png" wildcard filter, and click [Apply] again. This will ensure that the PNG files will not be processed into DDS file type. Also filter the following textures, as they are mysteriously corrupted by DDSopt: landscape\trees\treepineforestbranchcomp.dds landscape\trees\treepineforestbranchcompsnow.dds landscape\trees\treepineforestbranchcompsnowl.dds textures\clutter\common\hotiron01.dds textures\black.dds textures\brightyellow.dds textures\default_n.dds textures\defaultdiffuse.dds textures\defaultwithspec_n.dds textures\gray.dds textures\green.dds textures\greynoise.dds textures\lightblue.dds textures\white.dds textures\white_em.dds

Oh wow I guess it must be hidden because I checked github... and also feel silly it was relinked above my first post lol. Anyways what about: I'm only using the texture overhauls and packs from the S.T.E.P. v2.1.1b guide.
-
Which pre-release? I'm only seeing v.0.7.3 bugfixed. Also is there a list of textures? I followed the S.T.E.P. v2.1.1b guide and downloaded most of the texture mods.
-
Ah so I can use those without the High Res DLC? I did click the link in the footnote but was confused when I saw it used with the other overhauls and wasn't sure what to make of it.

Hi, all I'm new and wanted to say thanks as well as ask a fair number of questions most about the results in this guide and comparison, my post is extensive... and I've had to relegate it to pastebin to get the message through. It contains info about my current situation, PC setup, and installation methods. I could use some advice and information; both are as always appreciated. The link is https://pastebin.com/XSxjF4rF
