I feel that this mod vastly improves the appearance of the glass helmet, particularly on male characters.  On males you can actually see through the helmet on either side of the characters head.  The fit for the female helmets isn't nearly as bad, and from what I can tell, this mod only slightly narrows the top of the female helmet.

This mod is actually a combination of the meshes from Better Fitting Glass Helmet by Abakus and some esp changes that fix an issue with elven ears clipping through the side of the helmet.  The ear clipping issue is present with both the vanilla meshes and the "better fitting" meshes, so this mod's fixes are valid even if the altered meshes aren't used.

Here are some comparisons.  The files are named in a way which should hopefully make it clear which are vanilla and which are from this mod.

It's really important to point out the .esp plugin edits of the majority of variants of this mod can be merged into your Bashed Patch in Wrye Bash, which means this fix can be added to an already in-progress game, as it effectively wouldn't disrupt your load order (assuming you use a Bashed Patch, of course!)

EDIT: I use skysan4298's Transparent and refracting Glass Equipment mod, but not the aMidianBorn glass armor variations myself, and it seems skysan4298's mesh/texture combo won't work Glass Helmet Fix.

Do the esp changes from Glass Helmet Fix work okay with skysan4298's meshes?  I would expect the meshes & textures from that mod to simply overwrite the Glass Helmet Fix meshes, but I'm curious whether the plugin fixes cause any issues.

I contacted Bugsbugme and have received permission to include his changes in Weapons & Armor Fixes.  Ideally, I think I'd like to have the improved meshes set up as an option in the installer, but the changes to the armor addon records would be part of the main file.  The ear clipping fix is something that applies to both the vanilla and the improved meshes, so it seems like a valid change to include in WAF, but I'd like to be aware of any potential conflicts this might create.

I'd have expected the author of Improved Closedfaced Helmets to cover this one at some point, but the helmet is very open already, so I can see why it would have been skiped over.

But yes, this mod looks to be a very good-looking and not very intrusive fix to a vanilla problem. Actually, several with the same helmet. This one I can see being included in the Unofficial Skyrim Patch wholesale.

As such, Marked for Testing.

It was actually reported on the USKP page, and it was marked as 'couldn't reproduce.'  However, the problem seemed pretty apparent to me when I tested it.

Maybe Navida1 could be persuaded to edit the Orc, Khajiit, and Argonian helmets so they would also fit a bit better.

Well, at least let me know if anyone foresees any problems that might be created by including this in WAF.

If this will be added to WAF, then there's no reason to test it. It's a fix and would be included once WAF is updated.

That was the same thought on my mind and I was about to give WilliamImm the same response earlier, but then thought that maybe his intention was to mark it for testing so that people here could help kryptopyr to make sure that there aren't any bugs with it since she is planning on putting it in WAF (a STEP mod).

So I've had a look in xEdit at the plugins that come with Transparent and refracting Glass Equipment

The mod in general comes with it's own meshes so you can't use the ones that come with my mod which is fine. Unless you actually want the narrower fit in which case they'd have to be edited to add the transparency and refractive effect OR the meshes from this mod could just be made narrower. In any case, it would be up to the mod author as I don't know anything about editing meshes.

"Skysan_GlassNTGBow.esp" doesn't touch or add any glass helmet entries so that's fine.

"Skysan_AMB_CAPatch.esp" conflicts but can be fixed with a simple patch (which would also be merge-able with WryeBash). However, WAF would then become incompatible too if my fixes are going to be included. WAF would need either a patch or a replacement esp for this particular plugin.

The better fitting meshes are completely optional, all the actual fixes are in the plugin. My orc male mesh fix is simply that the game comes with a mesh made specifically for orc males but wasn't actually using it. If there was any confusion.

As kryptopyr mentioned, they can be an optional in the WAF installer.

I'm actually using the latest STEP build plus/minus some other mods and my plugin works perfectly fine with this load order:

I'm just as glad we never went to those meshes - I honestly don't see how anyone, let alone any of the elves, could have even gotten their head INTO the helmets as narrow as they went. The ear clipping fix would be nice, but... yeah.
