EssArrBee Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 Will this patch work with NVEC? Improved Sound FX is integrated into NVEC's master plugin.Actually I don't know if tommy has already taken care of any incompatibilities issues since he provides a WMX patch as well. Where and what should I check in FNVEdit for possible conflicts? In the sound category for the improved sound patch. Also the weapon category. If everything between my patch and nvec are green, then this isn't necessary.EDIT: Also, the if all the additional sounds in black have a matching sound in the patch then they are same, but you have to check the editorID, not the formID.
EssArrBee Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 (edited) Okay, I tested the improved sounds/wmx patch out myself and didn't have any problems so I put the patch up on the nexus here: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55256/? I didn't look over every gun the patch touches, but I did do most of them and it worked. Edited March 11, 2014 by WilliamImm WilliamImm: Fixed link to mod
VonDoom Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I'll have a look at the list of mods I independently installed either today or tomorrow and see if I have any recommendations to take a look at left in there. I haven't played that install much and am ... well, probably kind of stalling a bit with continuing on, since I'm rather looking forward to what you're putting together here, SRB.
Brainfever Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Another great mod you might have skipped and since you include this mod's suggested body replacers I guess it could fit fine in the guide; https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/44476/? Spice of Life - Variety Armor and Clothing Robert Breeze Type3
EssArrBee Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 Another great mod you might have skipped and since you include this mod's suggested body replacers I guess it could fit fine in the guide;https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/44476/? Spice of Life - Variety Armor and Clothing Robert Breeze Type3Spice of life is in there. First mod in does this make me look fat. I think some people might be going to the wrong page. I have one with the appended STEP_TYPE on the end of the page name and that guide is the initial version that follows an enhanced vanilla feel. The other is one I'm working on and it includes all the good stuff. You'll know it because of hunter Thompson vault boy passed out on the top of he page. I'll have a look at the list of mods I independently installed either today or tomorrow and see if I have any recommendations to take a look at left in there. I haven't played that install much and am ... well, probably kind of stalling a bit with continuing on, since I'm rather looking forward to what you're putting together here, SRB.Once I get eve into the guide it should be safe to install completely because I'll be doing mostly quests and companions after that and you can install those mid play through without breaking saves.
Brainfever Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Yeap, all this time I was looking the other guide ffs. :O_o:
EssArrBee Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 Yeap, all this time I was looking the other guide ffs. :O_o:That's my fault for not changing the links on my user page. The guide you are looking at is kind if a place holder if we ever start a STEP like guide for fnv. The one I'm working on now is for people that want a lot more gameplay, items, and quests.
Brainfever Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Have you checked https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/40176/? rePOPULATED WASTELAND?Although the mod is abandoned and many people in the comments section seem to report various problem with it, I personally remember when I used it in the past that it was running fine.Combined with Populated Casinos it really added some life in the mojave.
redirishlord Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I find my self unable to start a new game as FNV freezes during character creation (race selection) and my desktop/windows cursor appears. I am then unable to regain FNV function via atl+tab or other. Anyone find this issue familiar? I'm stumped.
EssArrBee Posted March 12, 2014 Author Posted March 12, 2014 To many hair/face type mods can do that. Other than that make sure your whole ENB/NVSE/4GB thing is working right. Maybe try skip the character creation and 'coc' somewhere from the start screen. Then you'll know if it could be one of those mods that add a bunch of stuff to characters.
redirishlord Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Good point, thanks. I tweaked Skyrim and am about to check that, I'll be back to FNV shortly and I'll troubleshoot it next.
VonDoom Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Oh, yes, that reminds me: there's an incompatibility between the companion mod you mentioned (can't recall his name, at work now, otherwise I'd check) you'd include in addition to those I listed, from the Bounty quest mod person, and Niner. You can't progress with Niner in the ... uhhh, showing my lack of playing NV before, but ... that military base he wants you to sneak into for supposed giggles with that mod installed as is. I figure it's overwriting the same resource, so someone who knows how to patch these things could probably solve that.
EssArrBee Posted March 12, 2014 Author Posted March 12, 2014 @Victor you mean someguy and his mod Russel. I'll check out the conflict and see what I can do when I get there. I am pretty much done with eve testing maybe a couple hours tonight before I put it on the guide. Improved sounds fx doesn't need a patch for the latest version so that is awesome. There are conflicts between some of the patches though, I will need to create a combined PN/WMX/EVE patch since having separate does not allow bashed patch to work. It is only so powerful. Since eve was kinda the last thing I wanted to get into the guide before redoing intro/outro, descriptions, headings, and layout. That means I'm going to be working on that and doing the conflict/patching sections. After that I'll do quests and companions, then start re-evaluating textures and other stuff.
redirishlord Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Sounds great EssArrBee. I am trying Optimizer Textures at the moment, appears I had quite a few 4k textures in the mix, which surprised me as I have switched back to NMC Medium and Poco Bueno after my character creation freeze issue.
VonDoom Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 (edited) Mods to consider: Equipment:Advanced Recon Gear series by Gopherhttps://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/users/38219/? Misc:RobCo Certifiedhttps://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/43331/?Adds new perks and story elements that deal with robotics and cybernetic parts, looks quite rich and interesting. There's also a home mod related to this mod, Cerulean Robotics Home (https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/45481/?) And ... uh, yeah, most of the remaining stuff I have is either already on the list, extra race mods (Xenh NV by Xenius https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35747/?, or TFH Rugged Race https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/48629/? by The FourthHorse), but you probably don't want to overload on those. Though both are very nice. Edited March 12, 2014 by VonDoom
