I think it involves losing more money and the severity of the debuffs you get. Also, if followers are killable...they can die if you succumb.

Thanks, that makes sense. It seems cruel to have the followers die because I screw up!

Well, they are following you! :p

They hitched their wagon to your star...for better or worse.

I usually only have one or two followers but they are always essential. I'm going to look more into that setting in the MCM.

Ah, here we go:

But just to clarify, this mod doesn't change or add any behavior to the followers. However, it recognize if you have a follower still fighting for you and you will remain on the ground until 1) your follower won or 2) your follower is also defeated. In the latter case, you either fall unconscious or die (and there is an option such that your follower may die even if protected/essential). -BralorMarr

@Kudebar

A common theme in all your posts... You really need to upgrade your PC.  I would send you my old 580 GTX ultra with 1.5Gb RAM if you were nearby!

@statmonster

Is it devastating to die now?  I am worried that in a "modded tougher" Skyrim it maybe better to die then lose your equipment.  Or is it exceptable.

You mean Phryxolydian :p

And, technically, you aren't dying, you just might wish you did, lol.

Depending on your settings....all your gold may go bye bye if you have it on you at the time you are defeated/captured/jailed/beaten or otherwise abused. Also, followers can die or be dismissed, there are debuffs as well. And then tehre's the whole getting out the mess after being defeated challenge.

Yeah, I mean that someone that is a Skyrim Addict around here, that is still running a 1Gb card.

Sounds harsh.... could be fun though.

So I was coc'ing around testing out some new mod changes and outside Riften's Stables I run into an assassin but having neglected food water and sleep during my test...the assassin kicks my ass.

I go into a downed state and stay there until the horse and the guards finish off the attacker and the combat ends, I then and able to use some potions and revive myself.

So, I had Enhanced Might Dragons (the Slightly Mighty version!) installed (had being operative word) and I literally couldn't kill the first dragon. It kicked my ass to put it as nicely as possible.

The first dragon was literally unstoppable and it decimated everyone who wasn't flagged essential...

So, Death Alternative kicked in. I remained incapacitated while my follower was still active, when he succumbed, a mage from Winterhold wandered up to my downed body and revived me and asked me if I needed any further assistance or an extra mage stave he had.

Alas, the dragon was still unbeatable, so such an assist amounted to nothing.

Ditto! Where do I sign up???

It was updated again since my first post in this thread. This update is primarily to get the mod ready to have a framework for modularity, plugins, basically for new options.

LOL, Kulde, I knew that...

Version 4.5 has been put up today, and requires a special "clean save" procedure (explained on the mod's description page) if you want to attempt to continue an in-progress game with the update. According to the comments thread sticky, from a user perspective the update offers only some bug fixes, but this new version's main focus is on paving the way for custom content that can be added with additional plugins.

I suppose I could take this chance to report back that the update to 4.5 went smoothly without any problem, though I followed the his "clean save" procedure and used the Save Tool script cleaner utility (first time!)

It's now up to 4.51, but that update was just a replace-install and run affair.

I just overwrote it. But there's no active script instances running on my save and I was in side a building in Whiterun. AND I saw this note: Small update, safe to overwrite directly on 4.50, no clean save
