That's totally fine. All I'm doing here is explaining what I updated, not trying to sway anything. :) I'm glad you like RWT as it is a great mod like I keep saying on isoku's page. WATER is a more simpler and cleaner (easy to use) experience (like I wanted it to be after all that trouble with the original I had to endure which wasn't anyone's fault). It was also requested by quite a few people too as a more straightforward option. I can see the appeal of the new RWT and its great details. While it's something I could persue, I just don't want to. I think all the work I wanted to do on the water came out as optional content. I never get offended, so you guys dropping my stuff is fine by me as long as I see that a good judgement has been made. Hope that makes sense. :)

P.S I see you went back on not making another video then (I forgot to mention this earlier)? ;) I think you said to me there was no chance of another one. I suppose when you get used to it, it's much better like you said.

Came to think about something. Which ini settings for water do you make your compared with ?

There is quite a bit of difference depending on how you have setup your reflections after all.

My INIs are vanilla while testing...as they should be, for anyone that is testing with non-vanilla INIs. The INI tweaks included in the Guide are okay. All else should be vanilla when testing (unless the mod being testing instructs specific INI edits). But to answer your question:

SkyrimPrefs

(everything is vanilla default...I have no [WATER] section in this INI)

Skyrim

[WATER]

bReflectLODObjects=1

bReflectLODLand=1

bReflectSky=1

bReflectLODTrees=1

Why don't you guys just get permission to use various parts from each water mod that you like and create your own version? I would be totally okay with that personally and would be willing to help out if needs be. *shrugs*

Better idea: You and isoku team up and combine your favorite aspects of both mods to yield a single, consensus overhaul with options only where absolutely necessary :yes:

Hint: this sort of thing is what the consortium is for ;)

Both mods have some stronger points that the other, and the water overhaul is a giant undertaking that really deserves a specialized, team approach. You could likely spend all of your modding time on this alone with valid improvements (e.g., like Vurt and foliage)

EDIT: I agree with your approach to INIs, tech. there is no other way to guarantee consistency unless it is known that certain INI settings are best and should be used by everyone.

Isoki posted a link on his page for people to test his parallax textures for the new enb effects just released for water.

Spreading the word ^.^

I watched that video last night, and is it just me or do WATER and Pure Waters seem to be kind of... plasticy (not the exact way  I'd put it but it's the same kind of thing Gopher complains about , whenever he talks about the vanilla water without ENB)

Hi all

I've recently installed most of the S.T.E.P. mods. The only one I did swap out was W.A.T.E.R for Realistic Water 2. I always used to prefer Pure Waters to W.A.T.E.R. anyway but thought I'd give Realistic Waters a try. I think it's the best water mod I've seen. As Phazer mentions above, W.A.T.E.R. looks a bit, plastic and cartoon-like to me. Maybe it's the patterns you get on large bodies of water, they seem to be rather repetitive.

Pure Waters I used for a long time but it is rather too clear for my tastes. You can notice this at Lake Ilinalta if you go for a swim. If you scroll right out in 3rd person view and look top-down on your character, underwater features and fish are too visible.

Realistic Waters is much murkier and hides a lot more of the underwater things. It seems to flow well, has a nice surface texture and just fits in much better on my setup. Had it installed for a week now and had no issues with it apart from two places. In Whiterun where the stream passes under the bridge next to the smelter at the main gate, the water sometimes goes funky and loses the surface texture. The other place I've noticed is just next to Whiterun Stables near the Nirnroot plant where the water sometimes loses texture. I believe others have noticed the same and have informed the mod author.

By the way RWT2 also has more options for texture (256,512, 1024) whereas WATER only has (512 & 1024). I think vanilla water is 256 so for performance users this is an nice added feature of RWT2 :)
