There are now 2 versions, an ESL & an ESP version.

Use the ESP version. The ESL plugin has compacted FormIDs so there's a chance the ESL plugin won't work in the current guide.

ESL version should work fine now, with all STEP post-release changes and everything else updated to 1.6.1170??? LOOT also gives me no further warnings.

It should work handsomely with a new game. Greg was probably considering savegame compatibility.

Regarding the ESL version, which is working fine otherwise, see also its incompatibility with the Guard Dialogue Overhaul - UHDAP Patch.

The ESL also breaks a record in the Step CR Patch (NULL reference for 01DA0A04), so we'll be using the ESP version for this reason as well as the mentioned incompatibility with the patch.
