GrantSP Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 Discussion topic: Fores New Idles in Skyrim SE by fore Wiki Link The new FNIS is just as essential in SSE as the old one was for vanilla Skyrim. All the reasons for the old apply to the new.
spirevipp Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 (edited) FNIS fails on creating defaultfemale.hkx Anyone know what fails? is it mod organizer related?im using skyrim special edition (EDIT) So i tried disabling the Pretty Female Idles mod, and now it works. will dig deeper and reinstall that mod and see what the problem is Edited November 13, 2016 by spirevipp
GrantSP Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 I've moved your post to the Skyrim SE specific version of FNIS as that is what you are running.Question: how are you using MO for SSE?
spirevipp Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I've moved your post to the Skyrim SE specific version of FNIS as that is what you are running.Question: how are you using MO for SSE?There is a plugin on the SSE nexus which you put in the modorganizer/plugins folder. this let mod organizer recognize SSE. It does not support nmm links, so you have to dl mods manually. i found out that you can dl the mods into mod organizer's downloads folder which will let you install them easier through the downloads tab. The version/update function does not work, the archive handler does not work, wrye bash compatability is just bare minimum (wrye can read your files, but cant enable/disable, bashed patches appear in the data folder)MO crashes freqently, often during installs (most of them install properly, just MO freezing)
TechAngel85 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 After reading that...I'll stick with WB for SSE for the time being.

Martimius Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 Hey there, Just wanted to ask if there was anybody who uses the FNIS with PCEA2 on Mod Organizer 2; who also use the "File Redirection" feature. I recently started using it after FNIS started crashing on me back when it was still outputting to the mod organizer "overwrite" folder. I had a talk with the MO2 devs @GrantSP and @AL12rs and they recommended to use the File Redirection feature, to which my problem was seemingly solved- no crashes, and successful FNIS generations. However, the PCEA2 mod stopped working, and none of the animations provided from it showed up in-game. I did a little snooping around my FNIS logs and it turns out animations from PCEA2 weren't being read anymore: "Number of animations for FNIS_PCEA2: 0" I then looked back to an old log I had before I used file redirection and before FNIS started crashing on me, and I saw this: "Number of animations for FNIS_PCEA2: 652" Keep in mind I didn't add/remove any animations from the PCEA2 folder the whole time. Do any of you use PCEA2 with File Redirection, and if there were problems what did you do to solve it?
Greg Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 This may be a silly question but you do have the PCEA2 mod active in the left pane? I fully expect the answer is yes so just covering the easy stuff first. The way I understand the devs doing this is as follows: Install FNIS as a mod in Mod Organizer and ensure it is activeInstall PCEA2 as a mod in Mod Organizer and ensure it is activeCreate an empty "FNIS Output" mod in Mod OrganizerUncheck the "FNIS Output" mod so it is inactive and wont' be seen by USVFSRun "Generate FNIS for Users" and redirect the output to the "ModOrganizer/mods/FNIS Output" folderCheck the "FNIS Output" mod so it is now active I have not explicitly tried using PCEA2 so I can't guarantee this will solve the problem and it may be what you're already doing.
Martimius Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 (edited) PCEA2 is both active on the left pane and the load order. That’s also the exact process I use whenever I generate. Edited April 30, 2018 by Martimius
Greg Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 Well, for what it's worth, I seem to be getting the same behavior you are reporting. I'll have to play with this in MO 1.3.11 tomorrow after work and compare the log files because something is definitely strange here. Number of animations for FNIS_PCEA2: 0 Total non-AA: 0 Total AA: 0
Greg Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 Yeah, thanks very much to localmandiesaftercraftingleather. I tried this 9 ways from Sunday to get this working without any success at all. FNIS recognized and generated the base animations would not recognize animations in PCEA2. Finally localmandiesaftercraftingleather pops in and says don't use RedirectFiles - it doesn't work with PCEA2. So I commented out RedirectFiles= in the FNIS.ini file and it worked like a charm. EDIT: In case it matters I'm using Mod Organizer 2.1.3 Dev Build 8
GrantSP Posted May 6, 2018 Author Posted May 6, 2018 That is really weird! I wonder what it is in the PCEA2 mod that makes it such a hassle?
Greg Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 Unfortunately the files are all in A-Z order in the FNIS log from MO1 and Z-A order in the FNIS log from MO2 so I had to manually sort the log entries to get a good diff. I think this part of the FNIS log file is the most important when using the RedirectFiles option: Reading FNIS_PCEA2AA Set 0 - mod: FNIS_PCEA2 group: _mtidle ngroups: 2 files found/missing: 0/ 2 Bhav.pattern: 203E0AA Set 1 - I still want to go back to this at some point (but I'm too exhausted to do it right now) to try to figure out whether FNIS is deleting its own files. I just remember some really curious delete file calls in the usvfs.log that makes me wonder.
