Some of Vurt's tangent space normal maps in Skyrim Flora Overhaul are already half the size of the corresponding standard color map, by the way.Yeah. He has already been considerate enough to optimize his material and provide those options.

No problem, Tech. Evan a few hours per week is better than nothing ;) I'd like to sign on a few more mods though, regardless ...

Good signs. (I have yet to test, as we have been busy with tuning the server configuration.)

Thanks everyone for helping to keep this info updated! And thanks to Farlo for actually doing the updating!

IMO, weather is only tangentially related to lighting. Neither is a subset of the other. Rather in some ways they are complementary but nevertheless distinct. A realistic expression of weather conditions is all that is necessary, and vanilla has a good weather model. All it needs is a bit of modified expression in terms of sound, wind and particles of moisture. Lightning maybe and some personal ENB twists are good modifiers too, but variable weather based on user preference isn't my style really.

Yes, the mail server is not functioning properly either since the latest server config. I also am missing the RSS feed from the wiki :( Also, I think that the registration process is also broken in the forums, so we'll need to fix that. -
Me too. It must be a config issue. Something to do with page caching maybe? We'll need to look into it.

Wet' computer server could cut internet waste

What a mess at upgrade time though ... Besidilo makes a good point about "acquired conductivity". We would expect that it is possible that conductive material would eventually leech into the non-conductive medium over time and literally "shock" the system. Fans also do not work with viscous materials like liquid. I like the idea of convection of heat to liquid across a sealed barrier. This keeps components dry and simple to work with physically, whilst allowing one to still put the heat within the liquid to use. Water is much, much better at holding and keeping heat (i.e., high specific heat) than oil, so it would be much better at doing the double duty. -
Thanks for the contribution musicdemon. We need more people posting benchmark specs for pure STEP installs. I'll check them out, and we'll begin incorporating some of the performance data into the guide. I also have not seem much gain to optimizing Vurt's textures, except when reducing the normal maps. This is worth it perhaps (but I have yet to really look at SRO Basic).

SKYRIMLE [ LIGHTING FIX ] Relighting Skyrim - Dawnguard Edition by --JawZ--
z929669 replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
@JawZ You should invite NovakDalton to stop into these threads ... Thanks for all of the info. I look forward to what you have cooking. -
I agree. In fact, I personally only have 1 GB VRAM, but I use iMinGrassSize =10 because it looks so good. I also have crossfire though, so that keeps my frames up. Thicker grass is a good trade-off for 2048+ terrain textures IMO.

torminater seems right. You want to filter out source image files like BMP, PNG, etc and then filter the inverse as a simple file move ("Ignore > Don't process any of the known file types"). There are lots of ways to get the result you want in several passes by ignoring certain files, selecting certain folders or enabling skipping of certain files (under Settings).

Thanks for contributing this detail Aiyen! This is the kind of qualitative analysis we need Detailed perspectives ...

Temporarily handicapping oneself in a skill in order to raise one's overall level seems kind of odd. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding this. OK, trying to get this myself. I start with a skill level 15 at player level 1. I level my skill until it's 100 at player level 24(example). I then make it legendary, lose all my progress for that level (dunno how racial bonuses affect it though) but get back all the perks I spent on this skill. Now I can level the same skill from 15 at level 24 to 100 again (level 35???). Meanwhile I can use my perks as I seem fit or use them to pick new perks in the skill I've chosen to become legendary! Let's say I started as a two-handed axe wielding orc. At level 24 I finally get Volendrung which is a warhammer, but unfortunately I've already picked only the two-handed axe weapon perks! This way with a little circuit I can relevel my skill and use Volendrung in the meantim! :-) This is now vanilla gameplay - many people still think modders have created better systems, though, so feel free to use them. This seems like a "reset" to me (if i understand correctly). IMO, it is a contrived articulation of the rather lame leveling/skill system :p

I think they always have "general memory and stability improvements" listed. It sounds great ...

Agree that Basic sounds like the best solution for STEP. Anyone care to post some VRAP/FPS diffs under controlled conditions (e.g., Skyrim intro cart ride sequence)?

DROPPED Terrain Bump - Texture Pack (by SparrowPrince)
z929669 replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I let the screens in the OP speak for themselves. There is no need to improve upon this IMO. We'll point users to Steam Workshop instead of Nexus. -
Looks kinda fun to me
