STEP doesn't use the ESP for Daedric Armor and weapon Improvement mod, see the notes:"...Also disable the ESP as it isn't needed." It will conflict with Improved Closefaced Helmets. Good catch PR ...

Neither is for sissies :P

Discussion topic: NifSkope by Hexabits et al. Github Link Just providing a pointer to the NifTools site. I have been playing around with NifSkope in order to "fix" some of the "issues" I am assuming exist in the Soul Gems Differ meshes. I noticed that they have some decent documentation, but it is a bit outdated. We generally need to collect relevant info on modding tools and resources, so I thought we could create the threads with pointers under this forum category and begin to share knowledge about these tools and resources .. this might also help to formulate bridges among the disparate modding-related communities out there. Standard release and documentation --> NifTools New Alpha release (recommended) Discord AFK Dev Thread

OK. Here are some of the best options IMO. Let the vote begin. -

Did you see my previous post regarding the CK inconsistencies? RE the assortment you prefer above, I have created an even better combo based on that look that I will post this evening. I'd prefer previewing these in the CK though as opposed to loading up the game each time I make a change. As I said though, the CK is a real PITA, given the inconsistencies with the preview with this plugin. -
We'll need advocation from persons who have thoroughly tested it under STEP. This mod seems too "young" at this point. I'll install it once I get my drivers working correctly with v1.9.

Good point. I'll need to recheck that config' date=' as I may have used the blue glows on the empty versions of lesser & petty. Probably human error on my part. I'll check and get back.[hr'] I really like your new black souls texture; IMO it's the best match between what a soul looks like and it's "role". I still like a more variation among the souls than you use in your BAIN default for the rest of the souls (the lesser and grand are more similar than I prefer). For example, I like to use some of the different variations you didn't use, particularly at least one metal and one transparent, as possible. I am a little confused since the images for the Bain Default and what you showed as your choice in the comparison image with Neo's choices are different. I prefer what you had in that image (SGD-z.jpg) vs. the new BAIN default (SGD.jpg). Yes, I toiled for too long and came up with an alternative. The first version did not use any metallic or transparent either, but I do like that version as well. Perhaps I'll change it and post some alternatives for a vote. I find that most of the combos are "overexposed", and all detail of the gems gets washed out with most of the glow maps other than Normal. I went into the CK to see what worked best, and found a lot of weirdness with the glow meshes and the textures. For example, previewing the black gems looks as expected, but the empty petty gem does not appear to associate with the texture in the CK (the full petty mesh does though) ... same goes for looking at these in Nifopt (some of the "Empty" gems don't associate ... full never do, because they are plugin reliant). I encourage you and Neo to examine the previews in the CK using the * - E plugin version. Lots of inexplicable inconsistencies that are beyond me ... the CK drives me nuts -
I ran sunglare.dds through the latest DDSopt without any issues at all. Converted to DXT1 without any apparent degradation (size reduced to 2,731 KB) ... no alpha. sun.dds also processed flawlessly.

@winflakes When you launch WB, I understand that you see the vanilla plugins under the "Mods" tab. What do you see under the "Installers" tab? If nothing, and you are not prompted to "Refresh" the Installers, then right click the header bar of the Installers and make sure "Enabled" is checked. Then select "Full Refresh". If you still get nothing, then go to C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim Mods\Bash Installers\Bash\ and look for a file called "Installers.dat". If it exists (with a timestamp equal to the date that you last launched WB), then you have WB set up correctly.

I just updated the mod on behalf of Utopolyst. Now the BAIN wizard is included.... no BCF necessary. I also included optional vanilla-like config instructions (this might be something for Neovalen) ... also added a new texture for black SG... this is a muted version of the "hints of red", rationale being that the "bloody" was really not black, so now there are two versions that are black for empty & full ;) Â Â Â Â Â VANILLAÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â >Â Â Â Â Â Â VANILLA-LIKE SGDÂ Â Â >Â Â Â BAIN DEFAULT -
Yes, that is correct if installing Steam to C: drive.

Add the file to the INI under [AlphaCustom], then rerun (and update the Guide INI while you are at it if you want)

tough call, since it is a mod after all. It is definitely Pack worthy though if stable.

ACCEPTED Skyrim Improved Puddles (by PCG4m3r)
z929669 replied to Yggdrasilion's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
That is actually a fantastic idea, and so is the mesh improvement idea. Brumbek may well want to add these locations to his list of TBD mesh improvements. I'll look in game and belay my criticisms in the meantime :PAny updates on this one? I still have not looked in-game ... --too busy with other things. -
ACCEPTED Skyrim Project Optimization (by rgabriel15)
z929669 replied to Besidilo's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Yes, I agree that this is a "fix", since it elaborates on an insufficiently-implemented optimization. It should be totally applicable to non-LOD outdoor environment using the same methods. It may be much more challenging though, since there are many more possible view angles. -
Yes... I am thinking that some of the wiser mod authors will eventually offer a consolidated solution of their little enhancements (e.g., Arthmoor).

I downloaded 1.15.1.0 at about 0600 GMT, and it was clean at that time. My results match Farlo's: SHA256: c88819df771b72ab0bc969cff95d4947d0648693ded2c3b220ca75f326d97c85 What is the timestamp on the infected file for landbladez and Kelmych and Farlo (in GMT please)?

ACCEPTED Skyrim Project Optimization (by rgabriel15)
z929669 replied to Besidilo's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Agree that the trends indicate a slight performance improvement (too bad only for interiors). However, since it is only slight on tech's laptop, it will not be really even noticeable on more powerful systems (but likely quite noticeable on low-end systems). Therefore, I would say that this is an ideal candidate for Performance STEP, but probably optional for Baseline and not worth the plugin slot for Extreme. I guess this means that it gets into STEP right now with modification when we get the other guide levels up and running. -
DROPPED Soul Gems Differ - Full and Empty (by Utopolyst)
z929669 replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
After working on various combinations for two hours, I finally came up with a winning multi-color combo. ... and here is Neo's Needless to say, I do like the first better, but I can see the attrativeness of the more basic design (although I have found the combos that would add more depth to Neo's blue). I also think the empty version of the black is more interesting with the blue rather than the red glow map. -
Yeah, I know, but you have the community dev process down pretty well, so I'll let you drive ;)

Nooo problem lesson learned! Monty makes good points and we should set a good example ;) Thread moved to our new and improved "Gaming" forum, where such things can be posted and discussed by registered users and above only. Forum is invisible and unsearchable for all others.
