DROPPED Closer Quivers and Longer Arrows (by EvilDeadAsh34)
z929669 replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This is a good idea ... hopefully the author will see the reasoning. -

I responded with the solution to this issue on THIS POST

I just verified that the INI takes care of the purple sky. The specific line in the ini is:sky\skyrimcloudsfill.dds=SKPIn DDSopt, this file should appear in PURPLE text, indicating that it will be skipped. If it is dark green, then the INI is not set properly. Copy/paste the INI from the wiki into the DDSopt INI, refresh the browse tab, and that should do it.

I am still working slowly through all of the guides ... mostly addressing cohesion and articulations, but getting caught up in detail nonetheless :P it's gonna be awhile
-
ಠ_ಠI know :P ... but too cool to pass up crunching one of the only three real numbers that we have in SystemSpecs How did you make the lashy eyes?

Pleasure... it was a learning experience for me too ;)

OK, then we need to add buttons for the forms needed by everyone. Also need to think about what else may beed to be added ... PerformanceData? I can figure it out, but anyone else that can do it in under 30 minutes, feel free (I would need to monkey around for 30 before I got it right I bet)

There is a lot of good advice in these forums, but a quick way to get an idea of what to get is to look at all of the system specs on the wiki. Many users have specs on the wiki, so we can create a link to look at these systems in aggregate I think.
-
Just starting this per our admin discussions. We need to expand STEP:Main as a dashboard for accessing forms and other SMW functionality. Then we will need a prominent link to that from a number of strategic locations. Update this OP as necessary Form:ModForm:ModTestForm:SystemSpecs (added)Form:ModTicket (added)

Whats with the important and normal threads in the mod suggestion section?

Yep agree, this did not fit the original paradigm we talked about moons ago. That is now implemented, so all Mod Testers (and MT wannabies) please head over to the mod testing forum and look at the stickied threads as well as all of the mods with the TESTING prefix. These all need comment and results (where applicable) and mod pages created. Research is involved as much as is testing. We need to record all of the facts for proper SMW articulation on the wiki, which is important for maintaining STEP henceforth. -

AFAIK, the INI should already be configured to properly deal with this. I have only just DDSopted my vanilla textures again, so I will check to be sure.

Nvidia link fixed, thanks

DROPPED Terrain Bump - Texture Pack (by SparrowPrince)
z929669 replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Done and done. Shame I can't endorse it again :) Great work guys, well done & congrats! Was using 2.2.1 for about a week now, it's really good! Now if we can find a mod to fix those horrible paddles in Windhelm it would be perfect :) Anyway - why am I unable to vote it for Mod of The Month? That would be Terrain Bump, and it could be coming soon. That is one of the textures that the mod specifically addressesyou sure? I know for a fact that in the current version of terrain bump there is no normal for the puddle. There is one however in WATER, another mod originally created by OpticShooter. I think he moved it there because he originally intended to make city packs with reworked and uncompressed normals and the ice puddle only exists in windhelm. So he moved it over to WATER for the time being.Hmmm, I believe you, but the description features a pic of the Windhelm puddle before/after ... -
That is precisely the problem. I cannot describe a simple way to use WB. It is not a simple program to use, because it forces the user to understand what is happening ... there are way too many options, and it is designed to allow near-complete control. Thus, it has sacrificed some of the automation that would assist the user in judgements. There are too many if/ands/buts presented for user judgement, and we are assisting with this using the install recommendations for each mod where applicable. This is why NMM is not fit for viable use with STEP. The user simply has not nearly enough control over the installation. If you want, go ahead and add the content you think is most important for each existing page of the WB Guide. Place each brief-and-to-the-point snippet inside of a {{Sidebox|||}} like this example. This makes the same guide relevant to all types in that a core breadcrumb of boxes can be followed with embellishment all around that is relevant to the box at hand. The existing content remains, but you insert the shortened steps that you envision inside the boxes.

The WB guide goes into painstaking detail in describing how to use WB for managing the mod installation, which is the main objective, and it is updated as much as possible I think (aside from lacking info on plugin management, which is still not quite evolved enough yet in Wrye Smash). If people want something that is shorter and more like a Quick Start guide, then I will leave that for discussion on the Talk page ... I cannot envision how to simplify the process description without losing all of the meaning. The main point of WB is to learn how to package mods and understand their conflicts in order to achieve a result and facilitate alterations. It is sort of like model building in a way. Besides, the standard help goes into the functionality of the app, while the WBG describes how to use. People just need to read or start a Q&A on the talk page so that we can get into some specifics and address them that way.

I will also be creating custom presets for SkyRealism and ENBSeries 0.139+ once I finish editing the wiki.

Thanks for keeping up, Farlo. I am diving back into the supporting guides, so let me know if you need any help out here or on the Nexus ... I haven't contributed at all on that forum for awhile now.

You should be using DDSopt v8.0 - update 4 from the Nexus.

Looking further at this, it is clear to me that the guides and their articulation with each other is almost hopelessly disjointed. Much work to do here yet, so I will tackle one of these pieces as an example. Perhaps then we can all follow that pattern and get it all properly articulated.
