ACCEPTED XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended (by Groovtama)

Thanks for the clarification, Groovtama. :-) It makes sense to me now. -
ACCEPTED XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended (by Groovtama)
Nebulous112 replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Thanks, Kesta. :-) It was this line that I didn't (and still don't) understand. I assume STEP falls under the "disabled body-physic" category. The paraphrased term "disabled body physics" made me think of Realistic Ragdolls and Force, and I know that is in STEP. Anyway, thanks for your help. One last question: I assume for the Extended Creature Skeletons that one would have to add the Creature Pack from FNIS? Edit: I meant Extended Monster Skeletons. Anyway, doing some testing, FNIS shows the same amount of animations, with and without the Creature Pack. There were no errors either way. I'm going to assume it doesn't make a difference one way or the other, as I think Fore would throw an error in the dialogue if it was needed. -
ACCEPTED XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended (by Groovtama)
Nebulous112 replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Are there any recommended settings to test this mod? Are you guys installing the HDT Physics Extension and then choosing the HDT skeleton rig map in the FOMOD? Or going with the old XPMSE skeleton rig map (that it warns you against) to avoid installing HDT? -
Correct Place to Ask How Determine MOD(s) Stopping Compilation?

Help with strange Lens Flare and dxgi.dll error
Nebulous112 replied to Sarcasm's question in Post-Processing Support
Regarding the one file Steam finds when verifying the cache...it will always find one file and replace it. It is the CEG (Customer Executable Generation). The .exe file changes every time to remain unique for anti-piracy purposes. See this for more info. https://store.steampowered.com/news/2372/ -
Correct Place to Ask How Determine MOD(s) Stopping Compilation?
Nebulous112 replied to aba42's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Hey, buck up, Aba! You have come very far in a very short time period. I'm sure you'll make it through to the end. :-) The beauty of MO is no need to start over if you miss a single step. You can always move things in the left pane to where they should have been. And you can always run LOOT to get the plugins ordered correctly. -
Correct Place to Ask How Determine MOD(s) Stopping Compilation?

Check the OP in this thread for the list of mods required for the patches to not be grayed out. https://forum.step-project.com/topic/9370-step-compilation/ Edit: This may be of help as an unofficial reference as well: https://forum.step-project.com/topic/9568-step-extended-mo-screenshot-examples/ -
It means that ENBoost is working correctly. Not to worry. :-)

Optional ESPs Not Showing under Archives Tab w/ MO Manage
Nebulous112 replied to aba42's question in Mod Organizer with STEP
Your question is not stupid. It just shows lack of understanding in how Mod Organizer works. When I asked you to look at the guide, it is not because I am getting frustrated with your questions, it is because that is where I learned the information myself. MO is so different from NMM that it is worth your while to read that guide. Basically MO uses a virtual file structure. I will use my own system for example. My Skyrim directory is located here: D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim My Skyrim data directory is then obviously here: D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data My MO directory is located here: D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Mod Organizer My MO mods directory is located here: D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Mod Organizer\mods Instead of installing everything to the Skyrim Data directory, which is what NMM used to do, MO installs things to it's own directory, with a separate folder for each mod. Then, when you tell MO to run Skyrim, it virtually adds the files, etc. based on how you have set it up in MO (setting priority order for mods, load order, hiding specific files, adding .ini files, etc.). That way, nothing ever overwrites and deletes data from a mod. You can always uninstall stuff without any issues; you can even move mods around so one is "installed" before another (priority number in left pane). This is why MO is better than the other mod managers out there. And you are correct with the optional ESPs. You did that correctly, and the BSA vs. Loose file thing isn't an issue per Greg's earlier post. Don't worry about it. -
STEP Compilation Patch, Which Version?
Nebulous112 replied to aba42's question in General Skyrim LE Support
No. They are separate mods. The compilation contains the STEP Patch (which is very important to make things work together), and a bunch of small texture mods that STEP has gotten permission to put together in one package. The list used to be 30 mods longer, now it is shortened due to those mods being in the compilation. Whether you choose High Resolution or normal for the Compilation, it will have no effect on the other mods you have installed. As Greg says, the STEP Baseline column recommends to install the Normal Res version. -
Lol. Good luck!

No problem, and in this case, no need to mess around with the Swap Masters script. Unlimited Bookshelves has a new version which has USLEEP compatibility (i.e. Legendary edition patch, which is the one you should be using, and STEP tells you to install). Second file down in the files section (still under main files). https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/10891/?

Optional ESPs Not Showing under Archives Tab w/ MO Manage
Nebulous112 replied to aba42's question in Mod Organizer with STEP
Ok. I think you have missed one major piece of documentation. Read and absorb this. It will increase your quality of life. https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Mod_Organizer The left pane of MO shows the mods themselves. By default, it is arranged by priority number (akin to NMM installation order). Mods can have different types of files, including .BSAs and .ESPs. The right pane of MO shows different views. There is a plug-ins tab that only shows the plug-ins for the mods, arranged by load order. There is also an archive tab that only shows the BSAs. There are other tabs, but you get the point. You would know all of this and more, and would have been able to answer some of your own questions, if you had read that guide. Anyway, moving on. Fuz - Do as the guide says. Right-click the mod in the left pane, choose Open with Explorer. You will see where MO stores the mod files. Anyway, just do what the guide says. In the window where you opened the Fuz mod in Explorer, there should be an SKSE folder. Go in there and there should be a Plugins folder. Navigate inside there. You'll know you're in the right place if "Fuz Ro D'oh.dll" is in there. Create a new text document with the info in the guide. Name it exactly what the guide says, "Fuz Ro D'oh.ini", or it won't work. Make sure Windows is letting you actually see the file extensions (.ini or .dll, etc.). If not, let us know and we'll walk you through fixing that. BSAs - I trust Greg and GrantSP more than I trust myself regarding modding. You should follow my lead. If Greg says the BSAs and Loose Files are the same to MO, then I trust him. Don't worry about it. Brawl Bugs - Are you using STEP Core or STEP Extended? If you are using STEP Extended, then you don't need this mod, as the description says. It is included in Enhanced Blood Textures. If using Core, just move the ESP to optional as you have under Optional ESPs. -
Fore's New Idles in Skyrim - FNIS (by fore)
Nebulous112 replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
It's worth noting some installation instructions, as installing this add-on in MO is not as cut-and-dry as most. Make sure you have already downloaded and installed the "FNIS Behavior V6_2" main file. Now download the "FNIS Behavior V6_2 Add-on 1" optional file. Double-click to install it in MO. In the installation prompt, expand "FNIS Behavior 6.2 add-on 1". Right-click "Data" and choose "Set data directory". Here is where it gets a little off-base...it will still show "No game data on top level". That is OK. MO does not recognize FNIS' "tools" folder as game data. Click "Ok", and a prompt will come up saying something is probably wrong. Click "Ignore". Then click "Merge" to merge the add-on into the main FNIS 6.2 mod. -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
Nebulous112 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Hey Neo, FYI PapyrusUtil is now v3.2. Quite a few stability improvements from the changelog. +1 to the suggestion of Hearthfire Extended. I've been using it in STEP Extended and I quite like it. A lot of good stuff that should have been in Hearthfire to begin with. Note that the author has recently mentioned the ITMs will be removed in the next version and are safe to clean. This is recent info which contradicts the old description page. Also, if I might make a suggestion for your guide: Understandable Draugrs. Fairly unknown, but a pretty neat concept. I like it quite a bit. It uses Bethesda's own translations from the CK as subtitles when Draugrs get mad and yell in their Dovahzul language (which it makes sense that the Dragonborn understands). -
You need the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch. The Unofficial Skyrim Patch was superceded by the Legendary Edition patch, which is linked to in the STEP guide. It looks like one of the mods you added requires the old patch. MO will show a flag that looks like a yield sign with an exclamation mark in the plugin list on the right pane beside any mod with a missing master. What mods show this flag? While we're at it, are there any other flags listed for any plugins?

Optional ESPs Not Showing under Archives Tab w/ MO Manage
Nebulous112 replied to aba42's question in Mod Organizer with STEP
Out of curiosity, Greg, do you know where this setting is (to automatically extract or stop extracting BSAs)? I looked through MO and did a few minutes of Google-fu and I couldn't find a reference. Edit: Thanks GrantSP. Found it in FAQ section in the guide, when I fact-checked an upcoming suggestion to include it. My fault for searching "unpack" instead of "bsa" in the MO Guide. Lol -
Optional ESPs Not Showing under Archives Tab w/ MO Manage
Nebulous112 replied to aba42's question in Mod Organizer with STEP
That means that somehow you have unpacked the BSA into loose files. Try removing and re-downloading the mod. Instead of the folder with sounds there should be a BWS.bsa file. -
Optional ESPs Not Showing under Archives Tab w/ MO Manage
Nebulous112 replied to aba42's question in Mod Organizer with STEP
Greg meant right-click the mod in the left pane and click Information. Same as double-clicking the mod. In that Filetree window, is there a file called BWS.bsa? This is different from BWS.esp which is in the optional folder (since you already did that part of the process). -
It doesn't look like a different host for the CRF patch will be required after all. Farmhouse Chimneys has been updated to v2.3. No changes except to update the Cutting Room Floor patch for USLEEP compatibility. FYI, the wiki page for Farmhouse Chimneys currently states: STEP recommends the Farmhouse Chimneys 2.2 main file. Don't use the CRF addon until it is updated. v2.2 is still available as an optional file, but there are four different optional files alone that have "2.2" in the name. This could be confusing for newer users. I suggest recommending to download the v2.3 main file, and recommending against using any of the patches (as Ess has said above that the CRF patch is in the Compilation).

After Installing BirdsHFclean, run TES5Edit, Nothing Happens
Nebulous112 replied to aba42's question in General Skyrim LE Support
As Greg mentioned earlier, yes. Do the same with LOOT. -
That would make things very easy for users. +1 Edit: Obviously STEP would need to actually add FISS to the guide, probably under 2C. Extenders.

After Installing BirdsHFclean, run TES5Edit, Nothing Happens
Nebulous112 replied to aba42's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I think I might know what's going on. From the log you posted, it shows that TES5Edit is not seeing anything to do with MO. It sees the default Skyrim data directory and the default .ini files, etc. Something is definitely wrong there. Try deleting TES5Edit, and download and extract it again somewhere. Note it is NOT supposed to be installed with MO as a mod. Follow the STEP instructions for TES5Edit I posted above to get MO to find it and have the ability to launch it, and then launch the separate program from within MO. -
After Installing BirdsHFclean, run TES5Edit, Nothing Happens
Nebulous112 replied to aba42's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yeah, just delete TES5Edit from wherever you installed it. It never gets installed via MO. If you install it in a new place, just change the filepath that MO looks for to run the executable.
