  1. The index out of bounds has been confirmed for a couple mods to be sources of crashes. There were also some mysterious crashes that only a few people got with LotD that may have been due to the Bit 9 error. ICA recently fixed those, but since they were reported very infrequently I don't know if it can ever be confirmed whether that fixed the issue or not.
  2. The STEP benchmarking isn't required if you don't wish to or don't have the means to. To be honest, I have never done it
  3. Have you tried BethINI high instead of ultra, Lexy? DY has mentioned Ultra is really just for screen archers.
  4. Ah, what DY I believe calls "Modder's Paradise" mode. Delete the bShowMarkers from Skyrim.ini. That should do it.
  5. Things have changed. Look at the advice the STEP page gives now. The reasoning is that 4064MB is the DX9 limit. NOT the Windows limit. Windows has access to all the remaining video memory that cannot be used due to the DX9 bug. Therefore if you subtract 350, you are just wasting a ton of video memory for no reason (which us a big hit when all you have access to is 4064). Just because the game can't use the video memory doesn't mean that Windows can't. ;-) https://wiki.step-project.com/ENBoost#Recommendations https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:ENBlocal_INI/Memory#VideoMemorySizeMb
  6. Are you using the SKSE Plugin Preloader with Crash Fixes? Also UseOSAllocators=1? If not, you are still reliant on Sheson's memory patch.
  7. If on Windows 8 or 10 you have 4064 available video memory for DX9. If you set it to 3714 you are wasting 350 MB for no reason
  8. That message (and probably all the problems) is due to having a graphical ENB without the right INI settings. Try using BethINI for your INI files. Run it outside of MO. Set it up for your MO profile in the first tab. It will restart. Then in the second tab make sure ENB mode is checked and choose BethINI High (which is similar to vanilla Ultra, but better visuals and better FPS...BethINI Ultra is for screen archers). Then tick the recommended tweaks box. Go through the tabs. You will want to set particles to 6000 for Vivid Weathers. On the last tab make sure grass types is 7 for SFO. Exit and save. It will back up your old INI settings so can always revert back if you want. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69787/?
  9. UPlay giveaway continues. Now Rayman Origins is free.
  10. Looks like there could be some issues with Inigo and Caranthir Tower. That sucks. DarkFox says he's not sure if he will make a patch but he is more than willing to let someone else patch the navmesh issues and stuff and he would host it on his patches page. I think it's because the tower is right next to the stuff Inigo alters for his personal quest. I only know how to do xEdit patching. CK patching of navmesh and stuff is beyond me, or I would do it myself.
  11. The best thing you could do is drop to 1080p.
  12. I'm not sure what you mean. You can only have one enblocal.ini file active in your setup. I assume you are setting up a graphical ENB that has it's own enblocal.ini? If so, you will need to set it up for your system by tweaking the VideoMemorySize and ReservedMemorySize in the file. You may or may not want parallax enabled depending on whether you have parallax textures installed. What ENB are you setting up?
  13. Of course you don't "have" to. It is the best practice, as otherwise you are not using MO to its potential. But no one is forcing you to do anything! ;-)
  14. Did you install them, or just extract them? The first EXE extracts the files to a folder of your choosing. Then, you need to go inside that folder and run DXSetup.exe.
  15. No, you won't lose your save game. But yes, it would be much better for you at that point to start a new game, anyway. A good guide to make sure there is nothing left over in your data folder to screw up an MO install is this: https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Make_Skyrim_Vanilla_Again
  16. That is a very common thing with MO. This happens when the mod is not packaged in a way that MO expects. Expand the file tree in that window and on whatever the Data directory would be, right click that and choose "Set data directory". For example: Mod X shows no game data at top level. In Mod X the only folder is called "John Doe's mod". Inside that folder are folders like "textures" and "meshes". Well, in this case the folder "John Doe's mod" is acting like the data folder, because the folders inside correspond to what the Skyrim Data folder looks like. So you would right-click "John Doe's mod" and set it as the data directory. Sometimes it may not just be one folder deep, it might be two. Or it could have multiple options for the mod that you need to choose from. Etc. See the Mod Organizer Guide for more info. https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Mod_Organizer Edit: You will know you have done it right when the text goes green and says something like, "Looks good". And yeah, this dialogue window has nothing to do with running the game through Steam first. Although that is something that must be done for other reasons.
  17. BethINI was created by DoubleYou, creator of the STEP INI guides. If you tick the "recommended tweaks" checkbox after pushing the preset button it should give you most or all of the recommended STEP tweaks. You may want to double check some, like the grass types. Things like the tree distance are superceded by BethINI though.
  18. Thieves Guild Requirements by Kryptopyr. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/14157/? Edit: Apparently there was another page of comments...whoops. :-P
  19. Just make sure nothing is conflicting with the XPMSE skeleton. You will see a red "-" next to a lightning bolt if something is overriding it. Try just putting XPMSE (with prerequisites before it) in the same places as STEP does with XPMS. See if anything conflicts.
  20. I have never used windowed mode, FYI. I do occasionally get Z-fighting in my STEP profile (the mountain flickering you mentioned). Good luck!
  21. Well, something is wrong with your setup. See my specs in my signature. Running on a laptop, I get 58-60 FPS throughout the whole cart ride. I run BethINI on High (BethINI High is most similar to vanilla Ultra; BethINI Ultra really pushes your hardware to the max). While it is likely INI settings, it could also be your Nvidia Inspector settings, how many programs or applications you have running in the background, etc.
  22. Nah, it's not my guide. I'll leave that for Darth / Lexy or Paul. ;-) I add a bunch of stuff not in the guide, and I don't use everything that is in the guide. So my Modwat.ch would be kinda useless to you. Plus I'm 100% in Enderal mode, and I don't really feel like switching everything back to normal Skyrim until I'm done with it. I must say Enderal is pretty damn cool. Just running it with DynDOLOD (vanilla and Enderal billboards, plus Enderal option from DynDOLOD patches) and Vividian ENB (Enderal option in FOMOD). Pretty gorgeous, and voice acting is top notch. It has a really good story.
  23. Hey Darth, For RDO, a couple things: One, I read this about Sofia in the comments from the RDO author: Also, about Minerva, the RDO author recommends using the Prevent Actor option in the MCM for her or you could hear the same dialogue back to back. This is because 95% of the RDO dialogue is already included with Minerva. The RDO author is trying to work it out with the Minerva author for maybe making a version without all the RDO-added dialogue so that MCM tweaking wouldn't be needed.
  24. According to your screenshot they are not. The one on the left (in purple) is vanilla. On the right (in green) is ELE. Neo's instructions are to change the green values to match those of the purple values.
  25. Depends on your hardware. 64-bit will make the memory patches and stuff obsolete. However, it will also include some ENB-like effects that will be a hit on performance. I suspect for most people it will be a wash, and perform about the same. But if you have a very new video card with >4GB VRAM and you are on Win 8/10, you may see a significant boost in performance. Regardless of performance, however, I think the engine should be a lot more stable.
