  1. I can't find the post where I asked the same question. It's been too long, so I must ask again. STEP Core says not to use TES5Edit on this mod "Do NOT clean with TES5Edit. ITMs/UDRs are intended by the author for the mod to work correctly." Then Skyrim Revisited has these two: "Manual TES5Edit Cleaning Required: Problem: Weapons and Armor Fixes includes all the keywords required for this mod, therefore the weapon and armor edits are not required and cause a compatibility issue. Solution: Delete the weapon and armor edits." "Manual TES5Edit Cleaning Required: Problem: A wild edit is overwriting a quest fix from the Unofficial Skyrim Patch. Solution: Delete the offending edit." Should this information be in STEP Core and should I do this as well? I'm not running this pack, I just always scroll through it to make sure I didn't miss any other mods I like before starting over again :) Thank you all. https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Neovalen/Skyrim_Revisited_-_Legendary_Edition#Guard_Dialogue_Overhaul
  2. I see it's made redundant now that I made a new mod folder for my personal bashed patch, but I want to know if this has any other purpose? Thank you.
  3. Question: With all these perks to choose from to make your build, what options should I change in Better leveling? I'm running vanilla since I don't have any other perk/skill overhaul installed as of right now. Would it make sense to do 1.5 perks per level so I can use the extra points for making a secondary profession/class. I want to keep this balanced, so I'd love to keep the secondary skill class low unless I reach to level 100. Anyways, this mod reminds me of Path of Exile, I just hope it's not too complex like that game, but I'm sure any choice you pick is a benefit, unlike PoE, you gotta make the right choices to keep consistency. Maybe a skill tree mod like PoE would be fun, as I did enjoy that part of the game and you gotta really know what you're doing too. I like when they make you think and play around with these options. I had a blood mage/summoner way back.
  4. I think you missed one. I kinda forgot which one it was, but I think it had "Ruined" in the wording.
  5. Great mod. Playing it with only quest mods from REGS and Summerset Isles, so no conflicts. Would love to hear how testing is going. I'm no good at testing, as I get distracted by everything else going on and I just mainly wanna play. Obvious I don't look for problems, but if I see one that bugs me I'll bring it up :) I'm starting over to add Knockout Overhaul. I tend to just start a new save when I add a new mod, so I don't get into the habt of adding mods everyday to kill my save in the long run. I was wondering what I can do to put the Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul.esp at the bottom of my load order automatically in LOOT. Do I put a huge number under Priority Value? Thanks.
  6. I love this mod. I was looking for one that covers hoods and you did it! Thanks. I assume compatibility with STEP. Let us know. I see a few mods listed in the description, any others?
  7. Realistic Water Two - stream Fix by nanoman2000 This mod went up to the front page, so it must be good. Thought I'd post it since we run RWT. Still unsure what this fixes. Maybe I'm not so picky that I would ignore the water so long as it looks decent. I'll need to do my own streams comparison.
  8. The mod above looks awesome! Thanks for sharing it. Btw dreadflopp, I suggest you merge everything for us, because I don't wanna do it :( Please mate!
  9. We need a real time carriage/ferry travel mod. Like the one in Morrowind, forgot the name though. Edit: Obviously make it interesting by adding ambushes and raids by bandito horsemen.
  10. I'm also crazy about your mods . Hey you should come by more often share some thoughts on other mods and take ownership over this thread to get help for ideas/balance if you need them.
  11. I can only speak for Summerset Isle. Just make sure you add in the description the requirement to enter the new world space. You have to be Archmage, which is something I've never done until now for this mod. I'm normally an Assassin/Warrior type. Keep it simple, heh.
  12. I had no idea where to start when I updated to the 8.0 betas. Hopefully the released version is easier to use :)
  13. Son of a gun it's the year of world space mods. Keep'em coming!! Enderal soon! I hope this is compatible with mods since it's in a new world space.
  14. Thanks again everyone and Spock too, awesome advice! Now I neec help with an SSD. Can I pick out the best that I like, or does it have to match with my Mobo too? I'm thinking of grabbing that Samsung 850 Evo and I see oyu gotta have the right cables for the best transfer speed, which I'll need to do some research on. I thought it would be easy plug and play, but I should make sure I have the right cables. I probably have to buy them, right? The mobo doesn't have them waiting? I do have a bunch of loose cables tied up in my rig This is my other question about SSDs. Can I run my OS through my HDD and have my SSD shown on my list of drives to run my games, is that how it work? That's what I assumed, but I watched a video where the guy cloned his HDD to his SSD which made me scratch my head. Didn't think of doing that. I thought SSDs work like an external storage drive and you just put stuff in it without needing to install an OS into it. Shows how rookish I am, sorry guys ><.
  15. Yeah, shaders always wore down my GPU when playing Shogun 2 waaay back.. I'll get the Crucial RAM for sure, but not sure of the differences between 1600 and 1866. Speed is the difference, right? Both are compatible with my Mobo and everything else? Thanks guys, you all rule!! GPU is now the next one to hit. PSU, do I change it if I'm going to upgrade? I heard elsewhere that it's good to replace PSU when you upgrade, in case it blows up from age and ruins your new hardware. Lastly, I won't think about OC'ing, I rather pass on it, too scary :) if you guys give me other choices that are great that won't let you OC for a lower price with maximum power heheh, and I'll look at the GPUboss site you posted TechAngel, just don't know what GPU is compatible as I'm a novice in all this. I'm listening and reading, so thanks for everyone's help!
  16. Thanks all, I'll start with the RAM, then I'll look around for the GPU.
  17. I edited my OP. I'm willing to spend 400 USD. I'd like to upgrade RAM first. I assume you just replace them without installing software and done, so long as they're compatible with everything, which is something I need help figuring out. Also edited that my mobo or CPU allowed me to go to Quad-Core, and I've had it with all 4 cores ever since. I read that when you buy a dual with 2 locked cores, those 2 cores unlocked may become unstable, which is why they're cheap. Everything's been fine, but I guess I could upgrade to make sure. That GPU kyl linked is a good price, but unsure if it's compatible with my motherboard. I hope you guys can help me get through this hurdle. I'm ready to upgrade for real :) I forgot to mention one important request. If I could get hardware that doesn't have OC'ing options. So I don't have to mingle with that stuff for extra $$$. I don't want to, if they come OC'ed as kyl's GPU, that fine, someone else can do it for me and I'll pay for it :)
  18. Hello again all. I've decided to upgrade my PC. I want to be able to keep some of the hardware that may still be relevant to keep prices low. I know I said I want a beastly PC, but I kinda would love it to be a budge build. Below are my specs: Mother Board: Asus M4A88T-M AMD 880G/SB710; GbE, DDR3 1866OC; ATI HD 4250, Hybrid xFire; SATA3Gb/s CPU: AMD Phenom II x2 560 Blk 3.3GHz Dual-Core (This allowed me to unlock to a Quad-Core) 2X RAM - DDR3 4GB 1600MHz Corsair (2X2GB)Dominator GPU: PALIT GTX460 1GB Sonic GDDR5, Direct X11 SLI Ready Power Supply: Thermaltake TR2 RX 650w, Ultra Quiet 140mm Fan, Single +12V Up to 44A Now, for preferences, I'd love to just be able to run Skyrim at 60fps and keeping a high resolution. Currently, I can run 60fps, with fps drops come in cities and towns, and I can't keep any nice texture packs and adding Alternity's texture packs make very little difference in improvement, showing how my rig has aged. Another request is, I'd like to be able to also run any games that came out last year, well nevermind as I'm sure my current rig can run them all if they're console ports, but I'd like to run the PC exclusives nicely. Thanks all. Let me know if you need any other information. About the Alienware Alpha, it was a bust. So I'll have to pass on it unless he fixes it and lowers the price some more so I don't get buyer's remorse, but that won't happen anytime soon. Spending Budget: 400 USD plus 50 if I have to. Please if you could tell me exact model names for me to search. Links would be the best option, but you don't have to :). I'm very hesitant to upgrade, because I'm unsure what is compatible with my mobo and so on that I don't want to ruin anything. Overclocking, I prefer not to. The more I read of how safe it is to OC, the more I feel it's not :) If it's already overclocked by the tech folks to a safe amount, then that's fine, so long as it's the best option for me.
  19. Well, I find out it has problems. Something keeps randomly resetting, causing games to CTD, so oh well. It was a nice console for a good price, but I'm gonna upgrade my rig instead. I hope you guys can help me with that please. I'll make the thread soon.
  20. @Octopuss The portability is what caught my eye. I always imagined Alienware is nothing more than an overpriced name brand. That's usually how it works. I'd love to be able to take it with me to a friend's house or even bring a friend over to play Skyrim LAN Multiplayer down the road on my current rig and this Alpha. I do have 2 monitors to do this. @Pretendeavor About the processor, I could probably wait for the Intel Core i7 4790s to go down in price. Do they usually go down a bit or do they become rare finds that go up in price? I know every 6 months, they say all this hardware becomes outdated by newer hardware. @hishutup and Octopuss For the price, I have no idea if I could build something better. Just watching this newegg tutorial gave me more confidence to build a PC. I'll probably build it around my current rig. Will just need help knowing what kind of hardware I'll need and keep prices low. @TechAngel85 I was hoping to be able to run most games on 60FPS. I don't mind the low settings, just 60FPS and at 900p or 1080p, I can sacrifice visuals. I didn't know the Alienware Alpha was supposed to be Steam's console killer, but they ended up delaying the progress and Dell decided to just release it. Here's the site if you're interested in the other models. Kinda makes me wanna stick to a custom built PC since "consoles" tend to stay on the same leveling field to make it easy for developers to make games for the publishers on multi-plats. I also remember the old days when I imagined that Nintendo, Sega, Sony and so forth had a huge tech team to build the next console at HQ in hush hush instead of going to Nvidia and Intel whatever today and just slapping the brand name seal of approval. Tl;dr version: I may end up waiting for other options instead, but here's the deal I made with my co-worker. he's gonna let me borrow it soon to check things out, after a few days I could return it or buy it. what do you all suggest I do to make sure everything is working right? I'll try Skyrim of course, on high setting + Hires DLC. I don't own any of these "next-gen" games so I couldn't test those. Thanks all.
  21. Hello again everyone. I wanted to get the opinion of the STEP community about the latest PC console that came out at the end of last year. The Alienware Alpha. Released in 3 versions. I didn't know about it until my co-worker mentioned it. He's trying to sell it for 350USD. He said he wants to go back to console gaming. I believe he bought the low end AA console and upgraded the RAM and SSD. Here are the specs: Alienware Alpha Intel Core i3 4130T @ 2.9ghz 2 x 4GB DDR3 1600 @ CAS 11 180GB Intel Cherryville SSD (OS) 500GB Seagate HDD (Steam and Origin) Alienware Custom Modified Nvidia GTX 860m w/ 2GB DDR5 @ 1155mhz core 3106mhz DDR4 memory (stable) From a little research I've done, this is what I got: its got Windows 8(I'll downgrade to W7 if I could) GPU cannot be upgraded, and CPU could be upgraded to a quad-core, an intel core i7 4790s for little improvement. GPU is what matters, as I said that can't be switched out unfortunately. Maybe Alienware can release a GPU upgrade specificaly for AA down the road, which would improve relations with customers, but who knows... I mainly want to know if I could run STEP Core plus the packs and other gameplay stuff like I have right now. I already saw the recommended specs and I'm missing out on Quad-Core as this is only a Dual-Core. Not sure of the difference in what it takes away from me, if anyone can elaberate. Anyone else running Alienware alpha care to share experiences with a heavily modded Skyrim? Anything that can help me decide whether I should buy this or not is much much appreciated. Thank you all!
  22. I'll get rid of all the mods that can't run with IC. Even ETaC. Just waiting on that blacklist to grow.
  23. Shoot, it's like Skyrim is never perfect. Something new and improved keeps popping up and I always have to wait on compatibility patches to run them ><
  24. Since No NPC greeting is merged into the STEP Core patch, I hope you guys will show us how to remove it from the esp to run this mod. I wanna check this out tomorrow!
