  1. Discussion thread: HD Dark brotherhood door by KinderBueno Wiki Link I like the look of this mod. It just does the door, and there is an optional for using it without the glowing eyes. I would recommend that version. STEP->HD Dark brotherhood door
  2. The rest of the screens.
  3. This mod has lots of options. There are meshes and textures and every stature is optional. The meshes are able to be applied separately in the installer, so that is nice. The textures have 1k/2k/4k options for some and alternate colors. There are definitely some textures in here that look better than vanilla in game, and almost all the HD Meshes were better. You can kinda tell by looking at the blacked out parts of the vanilla screens and then the HD meshes allows some light to shine in certain areas. Some of the textures drift away from vanilla a bit to far, like the Merida or Snow Elf. I did the HD meshes with vanilla and HD meshes with 2k textures. I left out the giant snow elf statue because my testing save had already flooded the chamber and I'm to lazy to go back and mess with it. STEP->STEP w/ HD Meshes->Stunning Statues I'll post the rest after the time limit thingy expires.
  4. Thanks for the update. I have been using it in my last playthrough and really like the colors. Since I live in the desert, so I'm picky about the colors. I didn't have the whiteout bug myself, but I'll keep using the mod and consider adding it after I finish my current testing playthrough.
  5. It's fine to do so.
  6. I've been messing around with the DarnUI on the TTW site. It works for vanilla FNV now and is coming along nicely. I'll have to look into it a bit more before moving over to that version, but it is a lot more like the FO3 version with lots of extra HUD elements and a MCM menu.
  7. I hadn't started up Skyrim in a few months before I started testing some stuff again and have had a bunch of issues. The lighting for stuff is super bright for reason, like everything is shiny. I turned the Brightness down to about 30% and it's still shiny in the daytime. I may have to nuke my install and start over. There's only two nests, one is outside Whiterun at the farm and the other by the carriage out front of Markarth so easy to look at. They look pretty good in game.
  8. Right click the Overwrite and create mod. MO will make a mod folder out of those .hk files. Those are animation files, so no esp required. Just make the mod and tick the checkbox.
  9. True Textures - Bird Nests by (JimtownIrish) I like these nests. Especially the one from the wild birds. I didn't know they needed a retex until I installed this mod. I'd recommend using the optional file that removes the egg textures or just hide them with MO. I kinda like the vanilla eggs myself. You can really see the clipping on the hey piles through the bottom of the chicken nests. Someone should fix that. I took a few screens, the chicken ones don't show that well, but they look great in game. STEP->True Textures Chicken->Wild Birds
  10. I should put the instructions in there, but it's not a huge deal with FNV for some reason. I haven't seen any problems with the wrong order of masters, so I'll add those instructions after the current STEP release isn't taking up my time.
  11. Finally remember to test this mod after having it installed for a long time. It works pretty good. I like that followers don't just rush into combat. It doesn't actually feel like a mod is installed, so it fits in seamlessly. I recommend this one for Core.
  12. It's probably better for mod authors to unlevel the game. It allows them to rebalance stuff.
  13. You guys may have noticed that I'm testing for STEP right now. I'll probably be ignoring most of the stuff for FNV for a couple more days before returning. Releasing a STEP Guide update is actually more work than it seems, but once we have the mods mostly tested I can get back to FNV.
  14. The new TPB isn't something I'd trust just yet. Most of the staff from the old one left, so it doesn't have enough policing of content. I'd stick with kat.ph for now since it seems they already have alternate sites setup in case of more domain seizures.
  15. We should start by updating the advanced readme to get it in line with your current version. It would help people that know what they are looking at in xEdit, but not necessarily what the tags are supposed to do. That is probably the category DY falls in. I learned almost everything I needed to know about tagging from the readme. It just needs to be updated.
  16. You guys wanna test the Rustic mods by Gamwich? I don't think all of them would make it, but there has to be at least one or two that good. The Silverware and Pottery might be worth a look. I can't tell if they are really what we want to add to STEP from the screens because they are so red/orange. Who thinks that looks good?
  17. I can't believe no one ever brought that up before. That is a huge oversight on my part really.
  18. I agree that the dawnguard armor has enough subtle changes, but the weapons do not. The snow elf armor and shields are nice as well, since the vanilla ones are so boring. I still haven't checked out the shrines and the creatures from the Hidden Vale though.
  19. I have it installed. There is no overwriting of that mod.
  20. The funkiness might be from the reduced fire glow since I turned down the brightness. Plus, you don't really see the fire like that since those things are eye level. I jumped up on a rock to snap that screen. The SkyForge looks weird in game too. It would look better with a texture that added depth, but that would require a super high poly mesh to match or parallax.
  21. THere's much more in this pack than I origianlly thought. I might do some more later, but moving on to something else right now is better use of my time. Here's the DG armors, there are four colors, and a helmet, plus the Snow Elf Armor. HRDLC->EotW
  22. Dragonbone weapons Honestly, these are basically brightened up vanilla textures. Not impressed at all and I even think the darker metal on the vanilla textures looks better. I'm finding a lot of the textures in this pack are just lightened or darkened vanilla textures. HRDLC->EotW
  23. Discussion thread: Embers HD by mindflux Wiki Link Accepted for STEP 2.2.9.1. I saw this mod on the front page and loaded it up. I liked it quite a bit, so I'll mark it for testing since it's just a few textures. It does fires and forges separately, so we can choose to use one, both, or neither. For the screens, I turned the brightness down a smidgen to reduce the glow from the fire to better see the embers. STEP->Embers HD (Current STEP is pretty much HRDLC with a couple meshes from SMIM)
  24. That's good to know, maybe the author of EBQO will let someone make a patch... I'll add more as I do them. My testing skills have not been used in a while, feeling a bit rusty. HRDLC (Current STEP)->EotW
