  2. Oh yeah backing up that file is a good idea, thanks GSD. Is there any way to make categories apart of a profile instead of across the whole of MO. I would like if I could set different categories for my different profiles, this would be immensely helpful when STEP packs start getting more popular and we have to test them. At the very least allow for the primary category be local to the profile.
  3. The bug I encountered is just a weird one that Apollo hasn't really figured out yet. Basically, you should save before starting any battle and then if you lose the battle and the game doesn't transport you to a campsite then you have to reload the save. Yes, I'm making a Civil War pack and so far I have 6 mods, Alternate Start so you can start as Legion or Stormcloack, CWO, DCO because you have to do at least one dragon battle for Jarl Bulgruf to help you, Civil War Repairs since the towns don't fix themselves, Perfect Legionnaire just to add some armor flavor, and two plugins (Civil War and Battles) from Immersive Patrols. I don't want anything as comprehensive as CWO, but I do want some other small mods that compliment it. I'd like probably 3-4 more that are part of the civil war questline. Maybe I'll start a thread for it later today after I get farther into my playthrough so I know what I already have isn't going to blow up my saves or crash constantly.
  4. I wish someone would make a version that recharged the weapon when you kill undead. Just apply that one perk that takes 5% of the soul and recharges weapons to Dwanbreaker for draugr, skeletons, and vamps.
  5. I'm doing a playthrough right now with STEP: Core, DCO, Civil War Repairs, Perfect Legionnaire, alternate Start, and the Civil War and Battles plugin from Immersive Patrols. I have only had one issue so far and it one of the known bugs with CWO, where after loosing a battle you just sit there and don't progress to a camp site for new orders. I want to do a civil war pack kinda based around this mod, but it is so extensive and so touchy that it requires quite a bit of testing. If you know any other good civil war mods let me know, I only have a half dozen mods for this pack so far and I wanted to do about 10 or so.
  6. Ask the author if SMAA is recommended since that preset may be using other AA techniques.
  7. If a mod is mergeable, then what protocol does the Bashed Patch follow for overwriting the changes mergeable mods make. It seems like ESMs or fake ESMs overwrite changes from mergeable mods and I can't get those changes. Is there a way to stop those overwrites in the Bashed Patch?
  8. ENBoost will help and then what you can do is start reducing the size of a couple mods at a time until the game becomes a bit more stable, and then repeat the process until it is playable.
  9. If you do not have a ton of gameplay mods added on top STEP then try ENBoost. Our ENB guide should help you get that set up, it is basically ENB with only the memory reducing features. Start with the section that says Using only ENBoost, then the next tab, Installation, has link to a small utility for the [MEMORY] section in enblocal.ini.
  10. Hit new reply to bring up the full comment editor and then there is an image button you can use.
  11. Just point the way, and we can get started now, so it doesn't turn in to even more work down the road. Better to bring this along as 2.2.8 develops instead of doing it all right before a version launch.
  12. No they don't individually, but if you install a lot of them it becomes a problem as a whole. So a few added weapons and armor and clothing are okay, but add in a ton of new stuff to the leveled lists and smithing menus become taxed for sure.
  13. Over doing anything will cause issues with this game. Stick to the directions of Kelmych for doing the vanilla textures and maybe the STEP mods, but don't do much more. You are trying to optimize your way to the perfect setup and that isn't going to happen. I see it all the time that people are constantly tweaking until perfect stability is achieved and they always end up with worse stability. Just remember to KISS.
  14. Turn off Ars Mettalica and see if mining works, that mod makes mining give xp and is the only one I know of that would affect mining.
  15. menu freezes can also be from having tons of inventory objects. The way the game loads those objects is a bit weird and it can spike ram usage which causes freezes/crashes. When a bunch of mods add to the leveled lists they can increase the load when in crafting menus too, like Immersive Armors and Weapons does to the smithing menu. This can freeze up on you.
  16. You aren't going to get 150 into 30 without hours and hours or carrying over records from one plugin to a another. There is no way any merge script will work for that type of complex operation. You'd spend longer getting mods into 30 plugins than you would actually playing Skyrim.
  17. Here for 2.2.8 development, keep 2.2.7 to bugs or mods that change/update and would affect 2.2.7 specifically.
  18. Do files ever disappear from the Overwrite? I had a couple little mods I made in TES5Edit and I really have no clue where they went. I was switching between profiles, but I'm 99% sure I did not move the plugins out of Overwrite.
  19. Make backups of your saves just in case it doesn't work. You don't want to be left without your old saves.
  20. It had a good run though. :p That would get rid of two plugins, always a good to save a few positions.
  21. Okay so I guess the fix for soul trapping wasn't completely fixed so here is another update:
  22. If you have a solid playthrough going that is great. But for the purpose of packs specifically there needs to testing done without anything but the packs, no extra mods, no ENB or injectors. Then what I would propose is to test a pack with one mod or two mods extra at a time. Then you can add those mods to a list of compatible mods. Test separately with ENB, ENBoost, SweetFX, and SMAA injectors just to see if anything pops up. For the sake of consistency we have to stick to those type of conditions without throwing a bunch of stuff in to a setup and saying it is okay.
  23. Well, there is a file that is 900+ MB, so there is pretty good audio book support already. I say go have fun.
  24. This mod was just released. It has the ability to let anyone upload files of voices over too the world. There is an MCM menu for customization and you can even set it to keep reading a book after you close it, so that it is like a audio book for adventuring. I'll edit the OP with the link, plus it is here too.
  25. Oblivion only has single core support so unpacking BSAs is preferable, but with multicore support in Skyrim there is no difference in performance.
