SKYRIMLE Better Xbox360 Controller - 8 hotkeys quicksave -load and more
EssArrBee replied to Ubeogesh's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Couch+TV > Desk Chair+Monitor That is what it boils down to for me. I just can't get comfortable with a keyboard and mouse while on the couch. Plus, if you work at a desk all day with a keyboard and mouse and then go home and sit at a desk with a keyboard and mouse, are you like, even alive or something? IDK, that always felt a bit weird to me coming home from work and then going right back to the same position I just spent 10-12 hours at. One other thing that gets me is that some of you say that a controller doesn't feel right, but the last couple of controllers for consoles have been designed around the ergonomics of human hands. So, if it doesn't feel good in your han... OH WAIT. I knew it! You guys are aliens! Of course the lizard people can't use controllers. :p -
New countdown clock has been added on top of the main one. That one ends on Dec 1st. Nuclear winter is coming in . Todd Howard hates having to do multiplatform development, so I'd say he goes with just the next-gen consoles since initial sales have been pretty strong. An updated version of GTA V would help sell new consoles, and another CoD or BF with a mega launch will make sure that 360/ps3 are dead by next holiday season. What that means for us is DirectX11 and 64-bit.

step 2.2.7 and Interesting NPCs
EssArrBee replied to stepwanw's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yeah you can use the copy function with MO profiles then check the local savegames. Make a copy of the save from the first profile and move it into the new one, this is done in windows explorer. Then activate Interesting NPCs or any other mods you want to test. I do this quite often. I make a STEP Core, STEP Extended, STEP CORE Test, ... that way I can switch back and forth quick quickly. Remember to get everything out of your Overwrite directory first before making a new profile. You can right-click on the Overwrite and check 'make a mod' which will move the files in Overwrite to a mod folder that must be checked like your other installed mods, so rename it something that is connected to that profile. This prevents having to do things like rerunning your SkyProc or Bashed Patches again every time you switch a profile. -
There is another mod that works well for combat too, called Swift Potion Reborn. Lets potions be taken automatically. Mix that with Smart Cast and no more infinite menus spamming during combat.
-
Hmm... you know what, I remember a problem I had once with folders that had really long names. Wrye Bash has a character limit on the directory that a mod can install from. Try renaming the mod to ArgDecapFix.7z and see if that works.
-
Well, the Bashed Patch works so much better, a lot of extra things can be merged into the patch. Wrye Flash hasn't seen any support in a while though, but it is good enough for the running a Bashed patch. The NMM importer for MO looks like it is viable now, so modding isn't all that different. It is mostly just knowing what mods are the best, and when gameplay mods are added, what order to install. They get really out of order when a bunch of stuff like Project Nevada, EVE, WMXUE all get added because of the compatibility patching needed. Maybe I'll do a patch for my guide so people won't have to bother with all the patches.

I don't have FO3 on Steam and can't find the disc for it, think it got lost when I moved a while ago and it was GFWL, so TTW will come after I finally buy the game again. Probably after Steam holiday sale I can address that. My goal will be to have something I wouldn't mind sharing by the end of the year that resembles more of the STEP mandate toward modding the game. Then I will do some other stuff separately that can be added for gameplay, weather/lighting. Most the big projects for FNV are done so it isn't really that hard to put together.

Oooo... shots fired. Would there be anywhere to download those Dragonborn textures, like officially instead of some torrent floating around? Kinda weird having SRO everywhere then getting to Solsthiem and it looking like a different game.
-
Yeah, I have a i5/650M 2gb combo and it works great at 1366x768. I even have an ENB with a few features turned down to give me good performance. Just remember to stick to mostly 1k textures, a few 2k textures won't hurt.

What's a "Negative time delta during VM update"
EssArrBee replied to mikegray's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Moved thread from answers section. -
Once you start using reddit your tab count goes way do because it ends up being the only site you go to get everything. Why search through all my bookmarks for news, sports, porn, videogames, shopping... when I have reddit. :( Kinda sad now that I think about it. Not sure I ever had 150 sites open at once though, do you block flash to keep memory down?
-
Is it the only mod that does that? Have you tried different version of WATER, it is currently 1.871. I've never had that problem with WB, so the WB nexus page might be a good place for help.
-
There is no Wrye Bash wizard installer for this mod. You would have to choose the folders in the right pane that you need to install. Choose 00 Core then follow these instructions for the other folders: Install the following add-ons: * Improved Splash * Kerplunk - Watery Rocks * Animated Trough Water * Plants * Frozen Puddles * Row Boats * Only install "Dawnguard" and "Falskaar" if you have Dawnguard DLC and the Falskaar mod installed. Use the medium resolution waves. The wave version is the users choice. STEP recommends the "Medium Resolution Calm Alternative Two" option. Dragonborn users: Also install the "Dragonborn Waves" option.

Okay, I don't have that so I need to redownload it and check the installer, I will get back to you.

Have you guys been keeping up with this stuff. I always think it is cool when devs play along. There was a phone number in morse code and while back that had the Tranquility Lane music playing when you called. Another site has been found, but nothing special on it yet. https://thesurvivor2299.com/V137/ The latest morse code message: MY DEAR SISTER. I'M HEADING TO THE INSTITUTE. GOD KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS PLACE NOW. THIS OLD BASTARD WILL HELP US. HE MUST HELP US. --0321-- I really want to go to the institute and play with their advanced tech. That means androids.

Wow, I didn't realize how far Maxthon had come. Just a few years ago it was a featureless browser with almost nothing special about it. I used to keep track of some browsers with Zeuapp, but that isn't around anymore. Need something like that to come, it was the best way to keep track of open-source projects.

VPNs are really good, but try Usenet if you can. Nice easy way to get files and it has been around forever and no one seems to try and stop it. I don't really pirate games or commercial software, but I pay for cable so if I want to download a show that I forgot to record or a movie that I already paid $26 to see in IMAX, then I don't consider that piracy. I bought 1000GB off Astraweb for $50 a while ago. There is no way I'm going to burn through that anytime soon.

Yeah using Tor is pretty slow, mostly use it to buy stuff I'd rather not have people know I'm buying (not drugs). Also, the e-mail service for Tor users is good for the tinfoil hat crowd. The browser is based off of Firefox, so it is decent enough to browse with. I cant believe they blocked all torrent traffic. Cant you go through a VPN? I know they cost money, but still super cheap. Usenet is also quite cheap, usenet is one of those don't talk about it because then everyone will know about it kinda things.

Dynamic Potions by egocarib This is a potion mod that has a nice MCM menu to change the way potions, alcohol, and food work through duration and strength variables. There are also some options to make things unique. Same author as Enchanting Awakened so expect it to hit hotfiles by end of tomorrow. Should be a good one for those who don't like the basics of potions, and really who doesn't have some gripes.

I feel like having to many tabs open at once is a game. Which tiny sliver of a tab is my gmail? I know that there are a few extensions and that Firefox has a tab group thing, but the old tab stacking on Opera was the best. Can't wait till that is brought back.

SKYRIMLE Tamriel Reloaded - Textures and Parallax
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This uses an esp? What happens if I use it with SRO? I'm definitely going to give this a try. It looks really good. Can you make a separate mod post for this one so we don't combine both these mods into one thread? Here you go. -
Better Towns Textures by Raphou112 DoYouEvenModBro asked for this since he can't figure out how the make threads. :p This is another town replacer mod. I like Winterhold and Dawnstar, not crazy about Falkreath. The stones are just a bit much for me. Go down to the optionals for individual towns.
-
What WATER version are you using so I can go check and see if the wizard installer has a mistake?
-
I don't think SMIM has water textures, it mostly does meshes anyways. WATER is what STEP uses for water textures at the moment.

I start using Opera a few years ago and just couldn't stop once I found the integrate e-mail and IRC apps, plus the features they came up with. Probably the most innovative browser that ever existed. They recently started using Chromium for their browser because they can't compete on the desktop side, but their mobile browsers are still the best. I actually still have Opera 12.16 installed, but everyday it seems like there are more and more sites that it can't support, so I guess I'll have to update to Opera 17 which is just a different version of Chrome. Norton is not terrible, it was completely rebuilt a few years ago and is one of the best anti-virus on the market today, nothing like McAfee. Now MSE on the other hand, just like most MS products start out promising and turn into an unsupported messes. Almost no ability to actually remove anything from your computer. AV-Test.org is the place to check out the best stuff. They go with Bitdefender for paid apps, but if you want something free then Avast or AVG are great. MSE is the baseline so you can see how bad it is. https://www.av-test.org/en/home/
