That's the plan. I just need time to mess with Smash and then get Tech and DY up to date.
-
No it will not. They are the same files so it won't matter if they get installed or not.

Oh god, don't mention birds. I have an irrational fear of birds. I saw Hitchcock's movie when I was way too young and it has stuck with me ever since. Australia sounds a lot like Texas, but with more venomous snakes and spiders. Droughts, fires, sinkholes, hurricanes, tornadoes and flooding are all pretty common for us. I live in the desert, so even the plants are trying to kill you, except prickly pear cactus. You just get used to it I guess.
-
Are you guys still having a bunch of droughts all over the country? Seems fire and drought can go hand in hand. Just look at California and Texas. My cousin was evacuated from his house right after Christmas because California has been on fire forever. Texas almost burnt down in 2011. Satellites could see them from space. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Texas_wildfires#/media/File:Bastrop_Fire_Complex_Terra_Sep_05_2011.jpg Stay safe Grant.

I'm testing the current Wrye Bash beta and it seems like it works pretty good. The problem will be getting all the correct tags in place. It should read from the loot masterlist soon, so that won't be a total problem. The bash tagging script will have to really be used to update some mods for STEP though. I have been going through it and just off the top of my head AOS, RS, ELE, RWT, TCIY, BCS, AICIO, ADS, WAF, CCF, and HFE will all need new tags (my acronym game is strong). There is a really big expansion of the CELL records that a lot of mods use. Also, it can merge a lot more plugins like Paralyze.esp, the EBQO patches, Moss Rocks, Soul Gems Differ, WAF patches, Radiant Potions and Poisons, and Dead Body Collision. I still need to look more into Mator Smash to see what all it can do. I don't think it merges plugins, but it may patch a lot of records that I won't have to worry about anymore. Either way this means I have less work to do in the future. Not sure how long until the WB beta goes to release, but it seems plenty stable to me for patching. There is only one minor bug I saw with NAME records, but really how important are those? It would be nice if Mator Smash works well enough that we can drop WB and scale back the STEP Patches to be less of a compatibility problem going forward. I'll report back after some more testing. Just putting it out there that the Bashed Patcher is moving along nicely, but the bash tagger script is required to get everything working right.

No powers for convenient horses
EssArrBee replied to Tomack13's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Check the MCM menu for the magic option. It may have been turned off somehow. -
Thanks, I fixed the mod page.

There are only a couple mods in STEP that need FISS. Maybe CCOR and Convenient Horses, but everything else is only a few settings.

ACCEPTED FileAccess Interface for Skyrim Script - FISS (by Lord Conti)
EssArrBee replied to statmonster's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I'll add this to testing, since it could be really useful to Timing is Everything. Marked for Testing. -
We should actually use FISS for Timing is Everything. Would make it much easier than listing a bunch of recommended settings. I bet Kryp would even let us put it in her optional files or just load it in the STEP Compilation or put it in the STEP optional files.

DROPPED Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul (by Shurah)
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Only use coc to test textures/meshes/sounds... but not the gameplay mods. You just gotta play with a regular save. Those Paarthurnax mods were so annoying to test because of that. -
ACCEPTED Relighting Skyrim (by NovakDalton and JawZ)
EssArrBee replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
DOn't use Github for mods. It's just a pain in the butt. Version control only works correctly for the coding projects. Trust me, using the github for the STEP Patches was dumb. Try using something like Copy or Dropbox. Use a public folder and give access to a few people. Make a different sub-folder for each version and date it, that way everyone knows which is the latest version. -
You guys can also press M for the map. I mean those are like decades old default hotkeys for RPGs.

We can add stuff to the form? How did I not know this. I thought only Z and s4n could do that.

GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
This looks nice: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/61213/? Might try it out in game and see if it's an improvement over w/e the current stuff is. -
They were just messing with the dev guide when we renumbered it to 2.10.0. That was probably what borked the list.

Several questions about F&L guide
EssArrBee replied to Morksel's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
No. If you install a mod like Project Nevada, then you'll probably also need the Project Nevada Patches too. That's just common sense. But, if you want to skip a mod here and there it won't affect anything since each mod is basically it's own thing. That said do not skip NVSE, NVSR, and NVAC under any circumstances. In the tools section of Steam. Look for GECK - New Vegas Edition. From there you have to add to MO like any other mod, but I also recommend the GECK PowerUp and then running it through NVSE. There are instructions on the GECK PowerUp nexus page I believe. You don't have to necessarily, but the Texture mods are setup to be installed in the order they are listed so that they overwrite the mods installed before them. Most the gameplay mods don't really matter that much. I don't recommend changing the load order of the UI mods section just because of the headache it can cause for newer users that try to mess with it too much. Dirty Weasel is a good video series and we have had a back and forth about FNV for a while. I wish he was still making videos. You'll see a few linked up in the guide. -
Why Don't Character Preset Mods Work?
EssArrBee replied to GlassWizzard's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Fallout? Oh man I thought this was for Skyrim. Which fallout game are you trying to get it to work for? -
@DY, there is something wrong with the table that credits the mod authors. Only one mod is listed. This page isn't picking up the MergedMods tag: https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP_Compilation/List
-
Core patches are now done. No ELE/ICAIO: https://copy.com/VmZm2eIih3PJcg0LNo ICAIO: https://copy.com/aNLnl01VzGqUe6xSI'm not going to add them to the STEP Compilation until the next update, so you'll have to add them manually. LOOT doesn't sort them properly so change the name to STEP Core Patch.esp or STEP Extended Patch.esp.
-
Okay, new Extended patches to play with. No ELE/ICAIO: https://copy.com/tceMPZswVV489dtxNo ICAIO: https://copy.com/LPRm7wImiEktY8VZCore incoming soon-ish.

Why Don't Character Preset Mods Work?
EssArrBee replied to GlassWizzard's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Make sure that you are installing them in the right folder. If you use MO then you may need to create those folders in a mod folder on the left pane. They need to be in SKSE/Plugins/Chargen/Presets. Also, some of the presets are set to a certain race so you have to select that race to see the preset. -
SKYRIMLE Nightingale Pride - Bow and Blade Reincarnation (by lKocMoHaBTl)
EssArrBee replied to Fantomax's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I agree about the bow from the screens, but I'd like to see it in game. I think the sword may be an improvement from the screens though. I like the hilt on the retex. Marked for Testing.- 11 replies

You may report this in the Bethforums in the SKSE forums. Maybe shademe, purple lunchbox, or hlp can fix it. Though the people at STEP are good at identifying and testing for stuff like this, we don't really have anyone that directly codes the fixes, unless you count sheson. He isn't really associated with us though, mostly just uses STEP to support DynDOLOD.

Several questions about F&L guide
EssArrBee replied to Morksel's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
You can clean just about any ITMs. You can also clean most of the UDRs unless I say not to in the guide. The deleted navmeshes are a little harder to fix, so ignore them. They won't affect anything.
