Bashed Patch does more harm than good?
EssArrBee replied to beej175560's question in Wrye Bash Support
If they also did some new sound, region, and location tags it would mean I could just dump the step patches altogether. -
Bashed Patch does more harm than good?
EssArrBee replied to beej175560's question in Wrye Bash Support
Mod authors that understand tagging add it to the description of the plugin header and it should be added by Wrye automatically. It just has to be in the proper format, {{Bash Tag:}}. -

If you have enb/enboost turn off transparency fix in enblocal.ini. Spice of life has an issue. -
You might scrap the mods and start over. There is some instructions that are tiny but crucial to installation.

You have to unpack the Thermal Nightvision and Stealth Gear BSAs. There is a cap on how many can be in the data directory if they are plugin loaded. I know first hand how bad that section can be. Project Nevada has three or four MCM menus for the diffferent modules. Hopefully GOpher changes his mods' installers to work with MO. I almost didn't make a guide at all because of the complexity of that sections. I waited about 4 months with a list of mods before finally putting it on the wiki.

Google 'blank keyboard map' and go to images. There a tons of blank keyboards that you could use.

Bashed Patch does more harm than good?
EssArrBee replied to beej175560's question in Wrye Bash Support
You'd be surprised how well the import feature works when it is a fully fleshed patcher like it is for Oblivion, FO3 and FNV. I messed around with it a bunch my FNV guide it works extremely well. I have lots of mods that change all the weapons and armor and it is quite intelligent at combining records and merging records together. I had to put in the work to tag everything and pick the right ones, but that is much better than leaving out features from mods because they are overwritten. -

Anyone want all my YUP patches? I made a ton of them... Most of them merge into Bashed Patch or you can merge them all with the xEdit merge script and then make sure to tag everything for Wrye Bash. Here's the patches: https://copy.com/HiMZGRa3DugJ Here's the tags: YUP awilderwasteland Patch.esp - Bash Tags - Stats, Names, Invent, DelevYUP NVSkies UE Patch.espYUP rotfacetoriches Patch.espYUP PN - ALL DLC Patch.espYUP WMX-DLCMerged Patch.esp - Stats, WeaponMods, GraphicsYUP 1nivVSLArmors Patch.esp - Bash Tags - Names, Stats, YUP Trooper Overhaul-Dragbody Patch.esp - Bash Tags - Graphics, Stats, NamesYUP Roberts_NewVegas Patch.esp - Bash Tags - Hair, Body-MYUP vault22FloraOverhaul Patch.esp - Bash Tags - Actors.ACBSYUP PN Rebalance Patch.espYUP PN Equipment Patch.esp - Bash Tags - Delev, Invent, Deflst, ScriptsYUP Tales from the Burning Sands Patch.esp - Bash Tags - Scripts, Actors.ACBSIf you merge these into one patch you need to still tag it with all the ones listed for every patch, excluding duplicates. I might just make this type of stuff into a separate page like Neo did for SRLE, but it is so tedious and so much work. If I can just give out a bunch of mergeable patches and reduce everyone else's work load that is preferable to me. It also reduces the chance of general users making errors, but at the expense of them learning something. Let me know what you guys think. -
Bashed Patch does more harm than good?
EssArrBee replied to beej175560's question in Wrye Bash Support
You need Names and Stats tags for WAF, CCF, CCOR, and the UPs. Most of those load early, especially the UPs, so you should probably have those tags. If you play Oblivion, FO3, or FNV, you also have to go through tons of mods with tags, since the Bashed Patch is so much more dynamic. If someone would implement a tag for Location, Climate, and all the Sound types for Skyrim, I'd probably gift them a new car. -
SKYRIMLE Optimized Vanilla Textures (by tony971)
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I don't think that applies. They meant that you have to have the DLC that costs money. Vano's mod doesn't require the HRDLC, which is free and even if you don't own the DLC, the textures for it that are included will not get used for anything. -
CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Hmm... well, it is true that vsync should be on always with Skyrim, but that should probably say that vsync should on in at least one place. You can choose which place to use it. I prefer ipresentinterval=1 in skyrimprefs.ini, but others may like it from their driver or ENB. Just pick one and you'll be okay. -

Did you remove the ILO - Lucky 38 Suite plugin? Unpacking willow has a bad effect on some meshes for one reason or another, no one can figure out why. So, I'm unsure, is your game working or not now? If not, give me a list of your BSAs. Also, were you the person with the multithreading INI tweaks, and if so, did you remove them? -

Stats is the tag you add. NoMerge is completely different and something we won't be needing until someone ports the Graphics tag over to Skyrim. -
Dragon Age: Inquisition Trailer and Release Date
EssArrBee replied to Neovalen's topic in General Game Discussion
Here's the official trailer, some extra details in there. Lots of customizations for armor and weapons and Bioware tweeted today that single and multiplayer do not affect each other. EDIT: Oh, and that is Lelani talking right? -
I would need to look at in FNVEdit and MO, but haven't had time to finish downloading/installing/tweaking FO3 mods yet. Stupid real life... Best guess is the way all mods overwrite each other and merge into bashed patch. Does Robert's have a plugin for FO3 like it does for FNV?

Freso is pretty on top of everything for Fallout, so just report it to him and forget about putting it in the guide. One problem that you might have though is if you actually clean a mod before it ends up in the masterlist. You have to reinstall the mod to check if they added the cleaning rules because it uses the CRC check to see if it needs cleaning.
-
If you don't clean them first, then you'll just merge the ITMs and UDRs. No bueno.

GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Yeah, I had looked at the DT and DR mod, but at the time I was so tired of messing with UI stuff I just didn't want to bother and ended up forgetting about it. I think I heard of that Primm mod too, but just spaced it as well. I'm pretty much done with LOOT, it was actually easy to switch with all the rules Will and Freso added. Now I can mod test and patch. -
Rollback is godsend.

HTML works fine, it's just annoying. *, #, and : are just stupid easy and I'm lazy.
-
Did the line break thing ever get worked out? I have a really weird looking section in my guide where I add a bunch of videos. It messes up the lists. I guess I'll try the html style out and see if that works.

Looks like the FCO installer has a couple issues and Drumber is aware of it. There should be an update soon, since the author is pretty good about releasing stuff quickly. I just finished most my work for the day so I'm going to start working on the guide right now. Runs off to library coffee shop for a quad shot of espresso... -.- -> O.O -
Big changes coming to LOOT with v0.7. Here is the alpha 3 link: https://github.com/loot/loot/releases/tag/v0.7.0-alpha-3 THe UI is getting a big overhaul and we need to make sure our directions will be up to date with the new version when it launches.
