  1. Race Menu seems to work for me using the latest version of everything, I'd re-install both of them using fresh downloads just to be sure. If nothing else, you can always open the character creation menu and shrink yourself back down. Does this happen in new games as well as old ones?
  2. Thanks for the update! I saw it earlier and updated the guide to recommend the 1024 version. I couldn't find an answer on the mod's description; what's the Vanilla resolution?

We don't need a lot, just two or three sets of compares on the thread in Mod Suggestions (MS) marked [ TESTING ]. For non-replacers, please head over to MS and read the stickies prior to posting. Then go into the testing thread and contribute some test ideas or some of your own test results. The idea is that testing --and logging of that activity on the threads-- will be touch & go for a lot of mods, and it should be pretty clear by anyone stumbling upon any mod thread what the end result is. Let us know if you want to be a Mod Tester!
  4. That's because the wizard.txt is blank for some reason...
  5. That's a nice little tweak, I'll have to try it out. I'm a little surprised no one has bothered to elongate the conversation tree, it's annoying when you have to scroll through them all.
  6. Remnant of the olden days. Fix'd.
  7. For minor updates like these a clean installation is not needed. We'll let you know in the changelog if one is recommended. You probably shouldn't install the v1.9 update since it's still in beta and most mods haven't been updated for it (because the CK hasn't been updated). Installing the new mods is really easy if you're using either Wrye Bash or Mod Organizer. Download the files and load them up in your mod manager as normal. Instead of just placing them at the end, you'll want to find them in the guide's mod table section and place them accordingly. Basically, just make sure the order in your mod manager matches the guide.
  8. First of all I highly recommend you ditch the NMM and use either Wrye Bash or Mod Organizer. They have a slight learning curve but once you get your head around it you'll never go back. MO is more user friendly than WB and has almost all of the same functionalities (everything you need for STEP). As for the DAT file, you must have downloaded it from the Wiki, yes? If so, that is not the mod. The mod itself must be downloaded from the Nexus. That DAT file is called a BCF (BAIN Conversion File) and is only used in Wrye Bash. It restructures the file you get off the Nexus into one that can be recognized as a "normal" mod and installed easily. If you're not using WB you'll need to download the mod from the Nexus, and install the files specified on the mod's Wiki page manually.
  9. I've been using STEP+SkyRe+AV for my most recent play through without any major issues so far (only level 10). Have you disabled the mods in STEP that other people have pointed out in this thread? Some of the mods seem to crash there game, do they crash your game? I only have Ars Metallica disabled, were there any others?Well looking at Morphello's posts in this thread he seems to have more disabled. Also Farlo can you show me the bottom of your load order please as ive had a couple of CTD's. Here's my WB packages: ... and my ESP order:
  10. I've always liked Rosewill products, I've used a few of their PSUs as well. Just judging from the video it looks at least as big as the Corsair you were looking at and has a ton of fan mounting points, I don't see how you could go wrong with it. Whatever your decision, make sure to read the ALL of the return/RMA stuff for the case, both Newegg's and the manufacturer's, just in case it's not the right size or whatever. Cases are one of those things you can never be 100% sure of until everything's put together.

  12. BUG REPORTS ONLY PLEASE! Please post any bugs or issues that you think may be related to this release on this thread. Those issues will be fixed, if possible, in the next STEP update. Progress on the next STEP release can be found in this forum. Make sure to check back often for updates!
  13. If you're crashing at the character creation menu then I suggest disabling Race Menu and see if that fixes it. Also, try loading a completely Vanilla save from after the whole Helgen bit. If you don't have such a save, try this one.
  14. Good luck, make sure you keep backups of everything and do trial runs often.
  15. No, then you did something wrong (didnt edit the .ini or didnt enable the .esp). Only difference with basic is that you don't get the few hand placed lupin fields and fern fields + the new hand placed trees. Grass is no difference and still requires the .ini edit (like it says on the page). To get better FPS i recommend this: Ah, I might have made that INI edit without remembering and attributed it to SFO; thanks for clearing it up Vurt :D If the only difference is hand placed trees then I see no reason to use the Basic version unless there are conflicts with other mods and trees start growing through each other. I will add that INI tweak to the mod page for those who may need it. Can you set it to any value in between those, i.e. to 30 to get slightly more grass?
  16. It's OK, he's just crazy sometimes :PÂ (I deleted a spambot post that was in this thread.)
  17. I think with that case you're paying for design more than functionality. I've used the Rosewill Challenger for a few builds, including my current one, and it's a fantastic case IMO. It fits my 6870 DirectCU with room to spare and has enough airflow to keep it under 70C even while benchmarking. With a Hyper 212 Evo my 2500k (3.8Ghz) is always <60C as well. Mind you this with the case sitting on a carpeted floor in Southern California.
  18. I'd love to see the result of someone trying to set up STEP+SkyRe with just NMM. Installing just SkyRe through NMM might work if your Vanilla game is stable enough/set up correctly, but there's no way you won't run into issues when using it on top of STEP. Trust us, it's worth the pain now; once everything's set up you can just enjoy the game and know it'll work (unless you're constantly adding more stuff).
  19. I think this issue has been brought up before, you report this on the Wet & Cold Nexus page, although I doubt anything will be done about it.
  20. I've been using STEP+SkyRe+AV for my most recent play through without any major issues so far (only level 10).
  21. Everything is still in the correct order so I doubt it'll cause any real problems, but is weird that without changing anything two different saves think they're in different orders. I thought the plugin order was supposed to be continuous, how did it manage to skip from 00 to 03 in the first place? Sounds like a bug to report to the WB guys.
  22. Tried before and after the reboot. Oddly enough if I select a save I just made it correctly says that Update.esm is "01" while the old saves say it's "03"... weird.
