1.2.6 - Do we still need the NCC Downgrade?
TheDane replied to DocClox's question in Mod Organizer Support
+1 -
If you extract the SkyUI BSA the problem is gone. Looks like BSA that belongs to mods can't overwrite official content
-
1.2.8 brakes SkyUI.

Then I indeed have a lot to learn

Thanks. Actually that's what i have done for a while without any issues. But i read that matortheeternal (author of Merge Plugins TES5Edit Script) states that you should renumber formId's 99% of the time when merging plugins. And then I thought "Maybe I'm doing it the wrong way". So formId's should only be renumbered when every instance of a specific formId is being merged right? Or am I completely wrong? Edit: Don't bother, you guys have enough work to do. I will go back reading the FNVEdit Training Manual again :)

Maybe someone could answer this. Should i check renumber formid's (Using the merging script) when merging compatibility patches for a mod?

TheDane replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Thank you so much for this amazing guide! Finally i can enjoy a proper modded New Vegas! The game have never been this fun nor looked this good! Unfortunately there now is an awful high risk of me going to be suffocated in exclamation marks! And this sir, is your responsibility! -

non-issue Open the Mod Authors forum to anyone who is logged in

An open Mod Authors forum would be more consistent with the philosophy of Wrye's "Open Modding", wouldn't it? -
Shouldn't STD have a green plus by the lighting bolt icon?
TheDane replied to peppergomez's question in Mod Organizer Support
STD does not show a green lightning bolt, because MO does not show what is being overwritten in the data folder. Mo does only show a lightning bolt, if one mod overwrites another mod (otherwise almost every single mod would show a green lighting bolt). So no reason to worry, your setup is correct :) -
Random crashes, visual problems...
TheDane replied to Tarvok's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Or just unzip SSME (Memory patch for SKSE 1.6.16) into your Skyrim root folder (Not the data folder). The file is completely valid, as i'm sure the STEP Staff can confirm. That way you do not have to fiddle with too many files Edit: Link to SSME -
General performance with my somewhat decent laptop.
TheDane replied to Halde's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Okay. Gtx 760m is a pretty good gpu for a laptop (I have a gtx 765m, which is actually just a factory-overclock gtx 760m). I don't know how much you know about how a gpu function, so here it comes :) The real problem with the gtx 760m (and 765m) is that it's only have a memory interface with a 128bit bandwidth. Try to imagine the 128bit bandwidth as channel, where every 64bit of bandwidth represent one channel between the gpu and the memory (vram). Then the gtx 760m has two channels where information can flow between the gpu and it's memory. For example the radeon hd 5850 (old mid-range desktop gpu) has a 256bit memory bandwidth and only 1 gb vram, but because the gpu has 4 channels (4×64) instead of only 2, the information flow between the gpu and the memory happens a lot faster. As a consequence information between the gpu and and the memory, in the case of of the gtx 760, is queuing at the channels (Creating a bottleneck), which courses framedrop, stuttering and low fps when the gpu handles large textures, antialising and suchlike (Forget about playing with enb). The conclusion is that dispite the gtx 760m and 765m have 2gb of gddr5 vram (and other good features) the low memory bandwidth of the gpu is actually cousing the cards amount of vram to be pretty useles. My advise (I have done every possible research in to the matter) use performence friendly effects and skip most of the 2k textures (even interiors) and you will have a nice modded skyrim :) Ps. Do not overclock your Acer laptop, it does not have the amount of capable cooling needed for an overclock. One more ps. English (and especially the grammer) is not my native languages :) -
General performance with my somewhat decent laptop.
TheDane replied to Halde's question in General Skyrim LE Support
What kind of laptop do you have (brand and modelnumber)? :) -
Kuldebar: My specs are similar to yours. Can I ask which screen resolution do use in Skyrim ? (English is not my native language )

SKYRIMLE Random Vampire Attacks in Towns Disabled (By Quarn)
TheDane posted a topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The mod disable all the random vampire attacks in any town or city (But not other places). Tes5edit shows no conflicts with STEP. Removes the need for "When Vampires Attack". -
Thanks for the reply. This forum is really unique :D Sounds interesting :D
-
Any eta on the release of STEP 2.2.9? Can't wait to use complete crafting overhaul and the other nice mods you guys have added to the guide :D
-
I will try to say it again. Use the NCC downgrade. Find it under updates.
-
You HAVE to use the NCC downgrade file over MO 1,2 otherwise it won't work. MO 1.2 works, but the NCC module i broken, just like it was with MO 1.1.2.
-
You don't have to roll back to MO 1.1.2. Just unzip the NCC downgrade fix for MO 1.1.2 over MO 1.2 and everything will work fine.
