ACCEPTED Audio Overhaul for Skyrim (by David Jegutidse)
TechAngel85 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I'll move it to testing but won't be able to put any time to it until I get my computer fully restored. -
ACCEPTED Audio Overhaul for Skyrim (by David Jegutidse)

It will likely get marked for testing as it has plenty of support; however, as Monty stated above, it will take a while to fully explore and test this mod. -
Problem with new windows 8.1 update?
TechAngel85 replied to Razorsedge877's question in Mod Organizer Support
No, Windows 8.1 was essentially an OS upgrade/install and there is no way of reverting back to Windows 8 without completely wiping and reinstalling it from scratch. I just did this today; however, I opted to go back to Windows 7 and leave 8 behind for now. -
Problem with new windows 8.1 update?
TechAngel85 replied to Razorsedge877's question in Mod Organizer Support
I'm going to have to break down and revert back to 8 or 7...Thinking I'll go back to Windows 7 until 8.1 has time to mature. I had no issues with just Windows 8; however, it provides nothing over Windows 7 that I need and in Windows 7 I can do a bit more actually than I can in 8. -
DROPPED Unofficial Skyrim Patch (by Unofficial Patch Project Team)
TechAngel85 replied to frihyland's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Will need to dig up that thread (Smart Souls) and put it back into testing for 2.2.8. EDIT: There doesn't seem to be a thread for Smart Souls... It will need to be created. -
Marking this as accepted for 2.2.8. It will be replacing WATER.
-
It's been in Beta forever...figure they'd have most these types of bugs worked out already.

Not true. The patch will not be a "required" component of STEP:Extended. Just optional like all the mods, but recommended to increase stability if all mods that are patched are installed. STEP will remain modular as ever. This is also where adding the TES5Edit instructions to the mod pages will help. It will allow those that can't use the patch to still patch the mods that they do use (albeit, on their own). I missed this ... and Core approaches if not exceeds this. the max plugins should be much higher. What is your source? I like TESEdit instructions for mod pages, but we will need to build that functionality as a modular component to Semantically store the info. Needs dev time. snip... I was being discussed here on the forums. Neo brought it up and it seems creditable. Thread is here: https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=3699 The point is that is new limitation is new enough that we don't know the extent that it reaches. And that is because several start out doing the work as a team, but the team eventually fails and it's left for one or two people to do the work; usually the Admin/Senior Staff.

I'm seriously considering reverting back to Windows 7 or Windows 8. (not 8.1) I've had nothing but odd issues since I've updated to 8.1 Pixelation in still imagesPixelation in videos (both online flash videos and offline ripped videos in VLC)Odd "scan lines" in online flash videosSeveral video driver crashes (not since I've updated to latest driver though)None of these issues I had before updating. EDIT: Spoke to soon...video drivers just crashed again.

I'm for the single big patch. It's less time consuming for the users, a hell of a lot less downloading and takes up less ESP slots which we've already figured out should be kept less than 128. Individual patches will quickly clutter up the Nexus page. I'm not against individual patches for the more popular mods; however, the larger single patch I think is the way to go. We have never do it and simply can not cater to ever single situation. Having one patch for Core and one patch for Extended is the better solution, imo, for those that are following those guides. Then if users add in additional mods, then it's up to them to patch. I middle ground solution would be to add the TES5Edit instructions to the mod pages, which I'm 100% for; however, Z doesn't seem to want to do it for some reason. I think he thinks it'll add into much complications for the users that aren't advanced enough; however, we can simply put a "For Advanced Users Only:" header in to solve that.

DROPPED Enhanced Projectile Soul Trap (by William Imm)
TechAngel85 replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I have not confirmed; however, I know that there are issues if you don't uninstall the Beta/old version correctly. I'd uninstall, load and go to an interior, wait for 24hrs and re-save to make sure it's all cleaned up before installing the new version. -
It's just been released so I would give the authors a week or two to be able to patch their mods. Most active authors will have their mods patched within this time frame.

This has been made obsolete by the USKP unless we want to keep the graphics from this mod: -
You are welcome. I'm locking this thread so only staff will be able to reply from this point on.

Non-staff members, please refrain from commenting. I realize this is an open forum; however, this was directed to staff and I don't want it turning into a case of bashing. @MallaVelve, In the future, if there is something you wish to direct directly to the staff, it might be better to do it via PM and just add all of our names to the recipient list. Though they may have an opinion, non-staff members really don't need to be in on this type of discussion. I am sorry you felt the words were harsh and though they may have come across as such, they were correct. Just remember to read the posting guidelines of any specific forum before you post. I know it seems like a lot at first but it's all to help minimize the maintenance of these forums.

I think you've earned your full fledged modder's and STEPper badges! Join the rest of us that only mod and never play! Haha!

All in all, I would say that I'm for the new healthcare system though, as many have stated, it's far from perfect. There are a few things that came with it which really needed to be done. Those that stand out in my mind are: Insurance companies can no longer deny you for preexisting conditions.Insurance companies can no longer raise your rate simply because you got sick or ended up in the hospital; essentially punishing you because you have to use the insurance for what is it there for in the first place. Auto insurance companies do the same thing. Get in an accident...rates go up. They should be next on the list to cut this "rate gouging" out.Eliminating annual limits for those that might require high medial costs (such as Z's family)Companies can no longer drop you because you choose to help advancements in medicine by participating in medical trials (I have done my duty by doing this)Free preventative care for Seniors and for certain preventative procedures. The cost will be tight on my budget. Very tight, but I think it will be manageable. Time will tell. As for oil and energies, I could talk all day about that. I'm all for the "Green movement" and moving toward green energies, processes and products.

ACCEPTED aMidianBorn Book of Silence (by CaBaL)
TechAngel85 replied to EisDrache's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I think some else is doing the the Wizard/FOMOD for CaBal so he might not know exactly how to update it or that changing a folder name will, indeed, break the install for that option if that's what happened. He has the usernames of the people that help him do this on his page so it might be helpful to contact those individuals and not CaBal. -
Well, I've been needing to learn TES5Edit for a while now. I think it's something that is important for me to know if I'm going to be handling a lot of the release coordination and whatnot. We have some experienced members that would be well qualified to handle it; however, they aren't always "on the ball" so to speak.

Sounds like many of my trials and errors!

That something that CaBal needs to fix or someone can fix it and send it to him to use. -
DROPPED High Quality LODs (by Ethatron)

Okay, I'll ask Sparrow to pop in and contribute if he can. I've contact 3 authors in the past week and haven't gotten a response from any of them. -

Those are better questions for the author on his nexus page. As for the steel glass issue, if might be a FOMOD/Wizard error or that the author forgot to pack the armors into the mod. Another issue for the author. This doesn't effect STEP as our recommendation is the Glass - Golden option which works as intended. -

TechAngel85 replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
My only thought is maybe the HQLOD normal matches the associated mesh; however, I can't view .btr files on my system with the tools I have. Even if that is true the vanilla normal looks much more detailed. -
Official Mod Organizer Support Forum
TechAngel85 replied to Uhuru's question in Mod Organizer Support
Acronyms should be used lightly. Readers shouldn't be forced to go look up what they mean just to understand someone's post. Personally, if a post is full of acronyms that aren't common knowledge (thus I don't know what they are), I'll simply not read the post and ignore it. We don't want STEP forums becoming a teenage girls texting arena. :P A hint of professionalism is preferred, especially from anyone associated with staff.
