HD Enhanced Terrain & Enhanced Distant Terrain
TechAngel85 replied to blinghound's question in General Skyrim LE Support
The full mods are supported at this time. I think most of the team merges the separate downloads into one folder for installation. I'll be checking into this with the next day or so. If certain parts are completely overwritten those parts will be excluded for the 2.2.8 release. No need to install redundant resources. :) -
Is nitpick been included in the patches? If so, it should be removed from them. Reason being is MO users do not need that mod because MO includes those fixes within the program itself. MO will actually popup a warning if you have it installed and activated.

ACCEPTED Dead Body Collision Fix (by LargeStyle)
TechAngel85 replied to rootsrat's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Need to decide, to solidify Core, if we want the Fireball Spell version of the no spell version of this mod. Personally, I have never had any issue with bodies blocking my path and have been using the no spell version because I believe it to add a non-vanilla asset to the game (which is against Core Mandate). Thoughts? -
ACCEPTED Consistent Older People (by Winterlove)
TechAngel85 replied to Kelmych's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This mod has a mirage of options. While for Core the recommended "All NPCs" version is okay, as long as the STEP patch is used it should remain okay for Extended as well. If the STEP patch is not used, the All NPCs BOYD Compatible Loose Assets optional version should be used. I would like to challenge this by changing the recommendation to the All NPCs Loose Assets optional to keep in line with STEP's recommendation of using loose files whenever possible. I would also like to recommend adding the No Elves optional file to the recommendation to keep the mod lore friendly. It is common knowledge that elves, in any lore, have outstanding longevity and live to be very old while keeping their fare, young complexions. For this reason I recommend we include the No Elves optional. Thoughts? -
What is confusing about it? It's the same structure we've been using for nearly a year.

I'll look into it. Probably not tonight. Already getting sleepy. zzzZZZZ

I can go over them again, but in that last massive run Nearox had me doing should have taken care of that. I'll double check them to be certain of it.

I've just started playing Torchlight a couple days ago. Thus far I'm enjoying it greatly. Simple yet keeps you interested.

Which ENB are you using and why?
TechAngel85 replied to DoYouEvenModBro's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
When I was using ENB's I did a huge test of about 20 ENBs to find the best fit for myself and STEP. Realism and vanilla styles being maintained were the top two criteria. My top pick ended up being SkyRealism - Cinematic. Second place went to TrueVision. These both simply enhanced the colors and ambiance of the vanilla game without changing it too much towards a specific artistic style. I am looking forward to seeing Aiyen's work...considering all the hype around it. -
TMI! Let stay on topic.

HD Enhanced Terrain & Enhanced Distant Terrain
TechAngel85 replied to blinghound's question in General Skyrim LE Support
HD Enhanced Terrain and Snow is used for the snow texture (worldmapoverlaysnow_n.dds) only. The noise texture is provided by Enhanced Distant Terrain. Neither mod is redundant. I've merged the Skyrim HD files and the Serious HD files into one mod. I'll have to investigate this. -
I'm not understanding this feature and how it works. Is it that mods which use the same script are marked as a warning if their ESP order does not match their install order? For example: Acquisitive Soul Gems(ASG) is installed before Traps Make Noise; however, BOSS arranges their ESPs so that Traps Make Noise ESP loads before ASG ESP. Thus the assets are backwards in the install order because Traps Make Noise will use the same script as ASG but before ASG does. Is this correct?

Interesting feature and useful! I extract all the BSA for the purposes of testing mods for STEP. Current ESPs marked as empty for STEP:Extended (if BSAs are extracted): Brawl Bugs CEUnofficial High Resolution PatchBWS (better weapon swings)Thundering ShoutsFollower Trap SafetyI came here in search of the answer if it was okay to disable these ESPs if the BSAs were extracted at installation. It's not mentioned anywhere on the changelog, MO pop-ups, etc. Might be useful to include that as a note somewhere. Note: Wall of text destroyed! I've also stuck this thread for the time being.

Very good explanation!

I have to say that I'm not a fan compared to what we have now. It look too "generic". Same effect pretty much everywhere with a simple color change for the environment that it's on (tundra, grass, snow, etc). This is what it appears to look like to my eyes anyway. EDIT: On a side note, I really dread seeing new LOD mods show up on the scene. This is only because of the incredibly large task it was to iron out the LOD choices and load order that we came up with for 2.2.7. I, personally, would not at this time put any of my own effort into testing out new LODs mods. I simply don't have the will to undertake that large project. If someone else does, let me know and I'll move any new LOD mods into testing; as long as you're 100% committed to testing them and doing it properly.

There are two things to keep in mind. Realism and artistic style. Too much of one and the mod is a bust. They have to remain balanced. You can have realism (because I value it very much in Skyrim too) but you have to also stay within the artistic style of the game. Here You have too much realism to the point that the water no longer "fits" in with the rest of the textures around it. You done a very good job on the realism of the water, but remember to stay within some boundaries so that your water doesn't stand out from the rest of the game (in a bad/too photo-realistic kind of way). I would be interested to see how it looks in various settings around the game. Or have you only still done a small area of the game?

Legendary Edition is on sale on Steam right now for $20.39 (US). Offer ends in 34 hours of the time of this post! https://store.steampowered.com/sub/28187/

That's cool. I just wanted to toss out my feelings on the matter of mod merging and the benefits of keeping that as a separate patch. It's entirely up to the patchers here though. As for the DLC, I agree with the rest that it is far past time and excuses to not have all the DLCs by now. This holiday season you'll be able to get all three together for around $25 (US) or cheaper. Really no excuses... I've also noticed a few authors starting to take this same approach on Nexus. Any comment on my post on the previous page about mod merging?

DROPPED Skyrim Performance PLUS (by VirusType2 aka Vergis)
TechAngel85 replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This mod is just texture improvements as far as I'm aware. (Smaller textures without loss of quality to improve performance) I'm not aware that ENB Boost includes any textures...could be wrong bc I don't use ENB Boost on my laptop. -

DROPPED Enhanced Projectile Soul Trap (by William Imm)
TechAngel85 replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This issue might have been fixed now: -
Sorry guys. I split this from the other thread. Was getting off topic. Please continue! :)

There used to be a BCF for this mod; however, none of the BCFs are being maintained currently. I'll hind the note for now. @Staff, If no one is going to maintain the BCFs, I'll will be hiding the links with the 2.2.8 release until someone decides to take up this mantle. I will take responsibly of maintaining the new FOMODs that I've created since I'm the one that has pushed to have these. (I might be uploading these to Nexus as "fixed/FOMOD" versions of these mods since the authors are MIA and haven't responded to me and it's been over a month.)
