SKYRIMLE Kill The Orchestra - By alt3rn1ty
oqhansoloqo replied to alt3rn1ty's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
How much of a difference does this make towards possibly reducing stutter or increasing FPS? I do enjoy a lot of Skyrim's original music though - it's not bad. I just make sure to lower the volume down so that it's faint and not overbearing. But if replacing it with the much smaller silent music files actually increases performance, then I may decide to replace most of them. Can this mod be installed through MO and then easily uninstalled with everything reverted back to normal? I may try this mod if it makes a difference for my performance. -

I've been experiencing FPS drops in certain areas of the game and I've been trying to figure out what might be causing the drops. One of the tools I used was SPM, but it didn't seem to help. Apparently, the FPS will drop irrelevant of rises or falls in usage of: Memory, VRAM, Disk I/O, CPU %, GPU %, GPU °C, or Threads. What other factors would cause decreases in FPS and increases in stutter? I cannot figure out what's causing this, only some of the areas and directions I face that do it. -
Hey Ess, the STEP Patches need to be updated - the new AOS 2.5 version conflicts with the current 2.2.9 (and 2.2.9.1 on Github) STEP Patches. :)

STEP Core - don't install at all. STEP Extended - install. :)

You probably already disabled the SMIM plugins when you installed SMIM by either deleting those plugins or marking them as "optional" (which disables the plugins from being used by MO by placing them into a folder named "optional" under a mod's installation folder - in this case the SMIM installation folder). So if you already did that you shouldn't be seeing any of the SMIM plugins showing up at all (either enabled or disabled) in the list of installed plugins in MO (in list of plugins on the right half of MO's window). I guess it mentions them again just to make sure you the user didn't forget to previously disable them...

Cool - looks like something that should be integrated into Skyrim Unofficial Patch -
ACCEPTED Not So Fast - Main Quest (by cdcooley)
oqhansoloqo replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
It's kind of similar to "Thieves Guild Requirements", which is currently a STEP Extended mod. That mod didn't fix any bugs either, it just made things make a little more sense - like, you actually have to have some thief-like skills to be noticed as a worthy candidate for the Thieves Guild. While it doesn't fix a bug, it improves the gameplay dynamics by enhancing the expectations for the Thieves Guild questline. The vanilla game presents a situation where the character may not have ever done anything remotely thief-like, and yet is spotted for recruitment as if they are showing signs of being a competent recruit. The TGR mod alters the situation so it's no longer so ridiculous. This "Not So Fast" mod seems to do something similar - it adds an element of time between certain quests. It appears to enhance the expectations of how long it should take for events to unfold, as there are many times where the vanilla game events are strung so tightly back-to-back that it seems kind of ridiculously so. So I think it may have a place in STEP Extended "possibly", but not Core. -
DROPPED Soul Gems Differ - Full and Empty (by Utopolyst)
oqhansoloqo replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I like the idea of the glow effect - seems like an appropriate addition to the game (at least for STEP Extended purposes). If the effect looks good in the game, and the most preferable of Gamwich's texture options are at least just as appropriate as this mod's most preferable options, then perhaps they should be put against each other to see if Gamwich's beats it. EDIT: Maybe after some of the other more pressing concerns for STEP are handled though, as I know the STEP team has a lot on the plate right now. -

What's the general feeling here about this mod? Are there any contenders to it that may be better? There is another mod by the same author that adds the same sorts of pauses to the Mage Guild quests also. -

BTW - how does Gamwich's soulgem mod compare to this one? -
SKYRIMLE Dawnguard Sentries Plus (by rms827)
oqhansoloqo replied to Crimson13's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Good question, snoozyboy. ;) -
Let me ask a question - If I started a playthrough, and then after starting decided to tweaks some worldspace or cell values in regards to light bulbs or light settings or if I simply decided to start using JIT scripts... Could I do this in the middle of a playthrough or would I have to start a new game?

oqhansoloqo replied to Crimson13's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I also use a mod that adds patrols - Skyrim Immersive Creatures, which adds factional patrols, including Dawnguard ones. I like the idea of having some extra city protection. I have had many times run into issues with "Run for Your Lives" and "When Vampires Attack" not working as intended. I hate seeing stupid villagers run to their deaths instead of flee (nothing worse than seeing grandma run in, ride the neck of a dragon like a cowgirl riding a bull from hell, and then put the killmove on furnace breath - I mean, it's funny, but it kind of really kills the moment). I prefer to see warriors and fighter-types - those expected to stand up and put their lives at stake to defend the town - to be the ones to do so. Anyway, a mod that would make the Vigilants of Stendarr and Dawnguard play a more significant role in protecting the realm sounds like a winner to me. As long as it's done right, and doesn't add too much to make something seem unbalanced or take away from the intent of the story. -

oqhansoloqo replied to Crimson13's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Sounds cool. What does the vanilla game do with regards to Dawnguard guards - do you ever see them outside of Castle Dawnguard? This mods sounds like it might add something that greatly improves the game with regards to the game environment evolving in a way that makes sense in light of the storyline. -
From "Pure Waters - Waterfalls" Nexus mod page: "This mod is compatible with any water mod as long as it doesn't modify waterfalls. Modded waterfalls meshes should be compatible, but I can't promise. You have to try it by yourself and report here. Dedicated waterfalls mods such like Skyfalls and Skymills ARE NOT COMPATIBLE. Do not use it along this mod. A compatibility patch is in WIP. If you find other mod which conflict with this one, please report it. Landscape mods may conflict with mine if they modify something around waterfalls." It says that Skyfalls and Skymills are not compatible. I don't know why, but you might want to investigate that before deciding to leave in the waterfalls with STEP installed, since it includes Skyfalls and Skymills.

SKYRIMLE Skyrim Modesty Mod (by Iceburg)
oqhansoloqo replied to FuzzRocket9's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
In general, it's probably best to limit the number of mods that you do this to. Unless you wish to modify the mod, I hear it's more efficient to keep mods in .bsa format. -

BSA extraction, using MO: Enable the mod, click on the "Archives" tab in the right section of the MO window, scroll down until you find the mod's .bsa, right-click the .bsa and select "Extract", find the mod's installation folder and use that as an extraction destination, find the mod in the left section the MO window and view its information by double left-clicking it, click on the "Filetree" tab, and then right-click the .bsa file you extracted and either "Hide" or "Delete" it since it is now redundant. The contents of the .bsa should be there in the mod's installation folder instead. -

Neovalen, I'd like to try to make my own ELFX compatible version of Relighting Skyrim 4.0. Do you have any advice on which installation options to chose and how to go about editing (TES5Editting or which files to delete/hide in MO) Relighting Skyrim in order to do this? BTW - I use ELFX for interiors (along with ELFX Enhancer), and RLO for exteriors and weather. Aren't some people working on getting RS to combine nicely with ELE and make it an official STEP lighting solution? Hmm... Perhaps I should wait until that happens first before trying to edit RS 4.0 for my set up (since eventually it may include STEP's lighting mod solution that will possibly include ELE).

SKYRIMLE Skyrim Modesty Mod (by Iceburg)
oqhansoloqo replied to FuzzRocket9's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
While I love the mods that make women bustier, I always hated the mods that made the clothing skimpier. I must admit that I quite enjoy viewing a nice ass and a big rack whether it's in art or on a real woman, I can always appreciate the intrigue of knowing that something obviously very nice is concealed behind an outfit that only shows off the curves of what's underneath. Anyway... . . this mod works with the vanilla meshes apparently (so no big breasts or anything), and makes some of the skimpier vanilla outfits (which there aren't too many - thankfully) less skimpy. It's a cold region afterall, and in general the clothing is supposed to be for climate and combat protection; not for sexual provocation. EDIT: I think some of the outfits should be a little revealing though, like the wench and barkeep outfits... Maybe Nocturnal's, if she is supposed to be a little sultry - she is a god afterall so she can wear whatever she wants... or maybe the vampire outfit since they aren't affected by the cold. -
Yes, I've been examining the changes for the past couple hours and so far it seems to have ended up working well...

HalkHogan should see this thread so he can view TechAngel's example. (I just PM'd him on the Nexus about it)
