GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
Crimson13 replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Actually now that I did that when I reinstall I get the option to select where to install the mods and install info. The default is C:\Games\FalloutNV\mods and C:\Games\FalloutNV\Install Info respectively, I think it conflicts with NMM. Although honestly I don't know why I still have it, sentimentality I suppose since MO is alot better. So uninstall NMM to let FOMM- Fork have the folders all to itself? Edit: Well, for F:NV and Skyrim anyway. Don't think MO has support for DA:O, DA2, and the Witcher series...do they? -

No, I don't see any files called fomodinstall anywhere. Still thanks for the help guys. -

I reinstalled FOMM - Fork and moved Install Info out of the F:NV folder, still gave the same error. -

Hrmm, dammit. So it's the same issue all over again. I'll just remove FOMM - Fork and do it all manually again. Just a question, is MO going to be able to use the F:NV fomod format? I think I heard it from here but I haven't checked. -

So instead of Program Files (x86) put it in Program Files? -

Okay, I'm going to try and give FOMM - Fork a go again. Seems to have the same issue the last time I posted it here, when I run FOMM and select F:NV an error comes up and says: When I click yes it gives me an error saying: Then I get another error saying: I've done nothing but install it (again.), does anyone have an idea on what this things problem is? -

I'm fairly sure it's blocked off until you get the quest. Kind of odd that some rocks wouldn't clear away until the quest started really... -
CDN gave the same error for me, guess I'll wait it out. I went through the forums of Deserters Fortress and it doesn't look like anyone has my issue, I left a comment just in case though. Since the error mentions 'available installer plugins' could it be something like turning on one of the disabled plugins in MO?
-
So what would you recommend then? Wait it out or ?
-
When I try to install this mod through MO I get an error saying: None of the available installer plugins were able to handle that archive. Doing both manually and downloaded give the same error, however it's only the main file that gives the issue. The others appear to work fine.

GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback

No, it's all from scratch. All I did was use the GECK to modify the Elite Riot Gear & Helmet, no other mods were used. All the effects (The ones I want anyway.) show up along ADAM and the patch I made. I have no clue why the visor isn't being added to this one helmet. Edit: I mean that when using FNVEdit the effects used are also the ones used by the ADAM/PN patch. They do they side-by-side thing. -

It's one I made myself. Kinda one of those cheat armors honestly, haha. I got the idea from the Prototype Riot Armor from ADAM, it's just an Elite Riot Gear & Helmet with different effects and DT/DR. I can't get the custom helmet to have a PN visor no matter what I do. -

A relief to be able to work with FNVEdit but I can't seem to get the custom helmet to work even though I followed the guide to the letter. Very damn irritating. Trying to get a modded Elite Riot Gear Helmet but after about an hour of working with it produces not a damn thing. -

Does anyone know how to make the GECK work through MO? Because all it's doing is the stop working error right that the start for myself. I'm trying to add the PN visor overlay to a modded Elite Riot Helmet and the GECK seems the easiest way to do it. -

Has anyone here used the New Vegas Configator? Admittedly it's been a while since I used it but I'd like to know if anyone has a better idea on the possible improvements and the like you could do with it. -

It does work, but when it takes around 10 seconds for the game to register the console key (Tilde, I think? It's a weird name.) and the game gets to the point where you have to use pcb frequently in the span of 15 minutes it get irritating very fast. If you could post the mods you mentioned I'd be quite grateful. -

Hmm, odd. It seems to be just outside for me, indoors is alright. I used FRAPS to check the FPS and it's weird to see that I get better FPS from Skyrim with alot more graphic mods and the others than I do from F:NV. I'll even get a couple seconds of the game not responding just bringing up the pause menu and the console commands sometimes. Is around 30 FPS normal for F:NV? -

Does anyone else get bad lag? I figured New Vegas Stutter Remover would remove or just help it (And I followed the .ini directions it had.) but typically when I go outside my FPS drops and goes choppy. I thought that textures might be the case so I unchecked Poco Bueno but it didn't change a things. I also get really strong slowdowns and lag when opening inventories. -
Does anyone know how to turn it down or just remove it? It's pretty annoying when encountered romping around the wasteland but is turn off the speakers irritating when in a house mod and they're everywhere. I ran into this link that said would fix it but it didn't work for me. Can I just delete the sound files or would that cause problems? Edit: It's the neon ones actually, I opened the Sound.bsa and the sound files in the neonsign folder where the ones that sounded like what I was hearing. Still any way to get rid of them?

Forcing vsync on through nvidia inspector seems to put my frame rates back at 60 max. I turned on triple buffering as well and the game seems to run better than before (Well, before the insane frame rates...) but I only played Skyrim for a little bit just to check to see if things were back to normal. It's weird the ENBoost won't use vsync even though the settings are true for it. Never did that before. Barring anything else it seems like things are relatively back to normal. Thanks for the help. Edit: I'll set it to application controlled again and set iPresentInterval to 1 and see if that also works.
-
I opened up nVidia Inspector's STEP instructions and vsync is 'Use the 3D application setting'. Should I instead use the Nvidia control panel and set vsync to On instead of Use the 3D application setting? Would that (hopefully) solve the issue? On another note should I also enable triple buffering via the Nvidia control panel? It seems like a good idea through the guide that was posted up.
-
I'm also having this issue, I followed the STEP guide with SkyrimPrefs.ini settings and enblocal's settings but vsync doesn't seem to be on. Are the settings somehow being ignored or is something overriding vsync?
-
Well that's disappointing. Here I was hoping that my computer upped it's game and took Skyrim seriously. Still that would explain why random objects at the inn were making that flipping out sound. Edit: Huh, I checked enblocal and I have all the right settings so vsync should be enabled. Skyrimprefs.ini has iPresentInterval = 0 so enblocal should be the one controlling it. Does anyone have an idea what could override the settings?

For Realistic Weapon Damages, I'm not sure if it would conflict with Project Nevada. I'm pretty sure it's got a MCM menu where you can select whether that having things like helmets changes headshots more lethal along with explosions knock npcs on their ass. Still, it sounds good but if Project Nevada does most of that anyway then there's little point.
