  1. Are you saying it works for you (i.e. stable game) without ENBoost? I'm beginning to think ENBoost could be an issue on my system as well, een though it is listed as a prerequisite.
  2. I'm sad to report that I still get the occasional crash, although much less than before. Often it doesn't crash for 2-3 hours, but sometimes it'll crash every 20-30minutes. Using full SR:LE install as of 3 days ago with no other mod additions or modifications. Tested with only neo's dll (and enabling steam) as well as with neo's dll + my compiled skse_loader.exe (thus disabling steam). Both have the same result. Sheson, upon your request in the OP @ enbdev I also posted a minidump there. If anyone could take a look at it, would be much appreciated. Link to post: https://enbseries.enbdev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=45959#p45959 Vmmap at time of crash (using 384mb for memblock1 as it appears there's still plenty of space left): SKSE minidump My VRAM limit (2GB) is never reached, usually it's around 1500-1600mb. ENBoost is on. The crashes happen most frequently around Riverwood and Falkreath, in particular when crossing cells borders("tb") but not exclusively.Â
  3. Well if you're completey new I'd advise not to do something rather complicated as DDSopt the vanilla textures. Depending on your system &resolution, ddsopting may or may not be necessary. You can alternatively also use the 1024 Full version (which is actually the 'light' version) of the HRDLC Optimized mod mentioned in STEP. That should already save you quite some VRAM. Secondly, you can use the 2 mods called Bethesda Performance Textures (check nexus) to further reduce vram load. That said, the instructions of SRLE use a different methodology and are slightly more concise than the step ddsopt guide. They might be easier to understand for you. https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Neovalen/Skyrim_Revisited_-_Legendary_Edition#Optimizing_The_Bethesda_Textures
  4. @Octopus you actually don't have to do it incrementally. Any plugin you load automatically will load its masters. You can clean them and uncheck 'backup plugins' when done. It'll replace the old esms with the cleaned esms in your skyrim data folder.Â
  5. I recently came back to modding. However at the moment there is just too much excitement with regards to the new memory patch. Before I update the VEGA Core pack again, I'll explore the new possibilities opened up by the patch ánd I will wait for step 2.2.8 regardless. In addition, I am really liking the way SRLE looks at the moment so fiddling around a bit with that as well. In the meantime, just a note that may be helpful to some of you who want to (continue) use VEGA: - The author of SIC has built in RotE compatibility since version 6.51. - The author of SIC has made it carry over the functionality of HLE. See this link https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/24913/?tab=4&&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D24913%26page%3D1%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D1338389&pUp=1 What this means is that you can simply disable SkyRe enemy scaling and not use my (outdated anyways) patch for now. 90% of the patch was related to SkyRe-RotE-HLE. The rest was related to STEP:Core. STEP now has a core patch which has largely similar patching contents compared to my old patch, and then the step team added quite some more.Â
  6. @SSL. I once saw a "tip" from Arthmoor that Skyrim runs for some with steam disabled and firewalled. works for me (and I do have legal version I just hate steam). @tallgeese3w. Do read my previous post, it'll help you generate that log file. I had the same issue because I force steam not to run.Â
  7. Might make my return to modding because of this. As some have mentioned in the thread, it only works for Steam users. For those without Steam, a solution has been proposed recently here https://enbseries.enbdev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=45776#p45776 It works on my PC in combination with Neovalen's last skse_steam_loader.dll. You can find the compiled file here if you need it: https://speedy.sh/6qTvn/skse-loader.7z (click the black filename text at the top to download, don't use the other links on the page).Â
  8. Hey guys, I've been absent with the step project and forums in general due to work and bad internet conditions abroad (greece). Not sure when I will be able to get back on it... Hope development is going well!
  9. This project is off the table for a while due to work commitments... I hope to keep the Core pack updated once in a while! :(
  10. Sorry folks, I've been working abroad for quite some time now with shitty internet connection (got 5gb of 3g internet usb stick a month... damn Greece is backward in this respect) and a laptop ill suited for games newer than Red Alert 2... Not sure when I will be sent back home (netherlands), but the way it looks like now it will be 2 or 3 weeks. EDIT: Rootsrat I'll also look at your patch by then :)
  11. I like it. I've been wanting to make a cartoonish/fantasy styled MO profile and this would fit right in.
  12. I'm not sure if you would enjoy a playthrough on legendary with mods like skyre, but you can always try :) Btw note for everyone: I'll be updating this pack as soon as STEP 2.2.8 is launched, which is currently in active development.Â
  13. Hmm thanks for answering. I think I'll keep using the A4/R5 format for the SDO objects, no visual harm done and (surprsingly) a big performance gain. Not evern sure how the fps gain is possible... But it works for me that's all I can say :(
  14. Yeah I read that in comments but it's got so many endorsements that I thought it must be sufficiently good for qutie a lot of people. By the way I noticed one thing: During several snow storms, a very bright sun appears. I don't think you mention it in the guide but from the files page at Climates of Tamriel - Weather Patch - Snow users should also install the ESS patch - otherwise this sun will pop up during said snow storms :)
  15. Phazer11 you can find the mod list here: https://github.com/EssArrBee/STEP-Patches/blob/master/Readme.txt
  16. That's what I thought as well, but the improvement is there nonetheless...
  17. Just 'discovered' that you can significantly reduce the load of this mod while losing very limited quality. There are only 2 texture files in the mod and they are uncompressed (A8 & X8 format). If you compress them to A4 (texture file) and R5 (normal map) they are reduced more than half in size at virtually no quality loss. This texture is used heavily by the game. As such, I have seen up to a 6 FPS increase looking from Solitude to Morthal and on average a 3-4 FPS increase while playing the game and running around in exteriors.Â
  18. There's a hard limit of 255 esp/esm files you can load.Â
  19. Yeah that's it :) The first time you patch it's always a bit complicated, but soon you'll see it is a similar procedure over and over.Â
  20. There's also a window on the right side :PÂ Step 1 and 2 is for left panel, step 3 for right panel :)
  21. Hmm I believe AMD has had XMP support for some time on their newer motherboards. I know some FM2+ boards got it. But yeah you don't stricly need it of course, just a convenience (if it works properly, which it didnt in my case!). The setting might be hidden by default: https://smallbusiness.chron.com/enable-xmp-amd-board-37024.html
  22. I just need to work with Github a bit more before I can fully comprehend it. This is the first time I'm working with such a developer-type of tool. @EssArrBee I'm not sure whether WBE is redundant. Looking at the records, it seems as if USKP only fixes argonian breath and not for all other races. Not sure why that is the case though, but it has been like that since 1.3.3c and perhaps before as well because Neo also patched WBE with USKP for an older USKP version and it is basically the same edit. https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Neovalen/Skyrim_Revisited#Waterbreathing_Breathless_Emerge I haven't found anything in the extended patch that needs changing, nice work there!Â
  23. I also have corsair vengeance sticks. Selecting the XMP profile in BIOS only increased clock speeds for me but it didnt change the voltage accordingly. Might be my motherboard though, I don't know, just had to do it manually :)
  24. https://developer.nvidia.com/legacy-texture-tools Some nice DDS texture tools. I especially like the thumbnail viewer!
