  1. By the way what type of RAM do you have? When I first got my DDR3 1600 ram and installed it, it ran at 1333 mhz. Most of the 1600ghz ram is basically a factory overclock of the default 1333ghz. However the BIOS settings may also still be at default. So when I cranked up my ram to 1600mhz as it was supposed to, I started to run into all kinds of small issues during the first few weeks. Later I discovered that the RAM Voltage was still at default and not at the higher voltage required for 1600mhz. This is something to check, if you haven't already.
  2. Kelmych, in the mod Skyrim Distance Overhaul there are two world object files in uncompressed format. The second one is a a normal file in X8R8G8B8 format, designated as a "world-space normal map for terrain". Would you recommend to DDSopt this a file? textures/terrain/tamriel/objects/tamriel.objects_n.dds (btw first file is textures/terrain/tamriel/objects/tamriel.objects.dds in A8R8G8B8) EDIT: posted my results in the SDO thread.
  3. It still says [included] in the thread title here. Just wondering why it isn't in STEP anymore. Which mod has been chosen in its place? The SRO farmhouse textures?
  4. Â I'm still waiting for Rennn to update his tree lod mod
  5. Is IBT compatible with AMD CPUs? https://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?197835-IntelBurnTest-The-new-stress-testing-program This is the developers' thread. It is designed for any x86/x64 cpu. Officially it hasn't beent tested afaik for intel i7s etc but as they say in the changelog: Tested by many users on Core i7 9xx, 8xx, i5 7xx, i7 2xxx, AMD 10xxt. I've used it tons of times on numerous CPUs. Edit: The reason it's called Intel Brun Test is because it is based on  Intel's Linpack, which is more difficult to use.
  6. I never read that anywhere that prime95 is not good for modern cpu's... The program is even regularly updated for new cpu instructions. Btw rootsrat, IntelBurnTest is very good for finding out major stability issues in a very short time-span. Use max ram -/- 2gb and do about 10 runs. If it passes, you will in 9/10 cases also pass a 12hours+ prime95 test. IBT stresses both cpu and ram components more than any other program and is great for detecting full load issues. Just watch your comp during the 1st test to make sure your cpu doesnt overheat :) Prime95 is better for rooting out general cpu/ram failures, but in order to detect them it'll need to run 12-24 hours.
  7. I see! So there is something definitly wrong with my setting somewhere... Sorry to ask somethign again, could you perhaps copy/paste the contents of your enblocal.ini and enbseries.ini in a spoiler/code tag?Â
  8. You could also try https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/42360/? https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/43921/? The author has made the packs specifically in mind for people having 1gb cards.Â
  9. When I downloaded the esp yesterday, it was called Step+Core+Patch... I think someone uploaded a new esp today without the + signs, while I was fiddling around with the github program.Â
  10. Thank you for testing. However, the issue is about the parallax effect... Uuseffect must be set to true otherwise parallax effects do no work. This is what I was referring to all the time. Sorry if it wasn't clear. When useffect=true but I disable all other effects in enbseries.ini, the FPS drop is still significant... That is what I am wondering about. With version 119, the FPS drop is virtually nonexistent. With version 234, I get about 15 FPS drop. Could you perhaps test again with useffect=true, fixparallaxbugs=true and all other things disabled in enbseries & enblocal? Thanks in advance!
  11. Thanks guys. I think I finally did it...Â
  12. I think it would even be easier if STEP recommends not to use the installer but to do a manual install. Because since version 1.81, quote: If I'm not wrong, I believe for the current step it would be the following: 00 -- CORE 00 -- SKELETON RIG 01 -- BOLT1 02 -- Back hand Dagger Equip Unequip Aniamtions 12 -- BACK HIP DAGGERS We have discussed this in the 2.2.7 bugs thread before, but the instructions are still being reviewed by the step team I think.
  13. Yeah that resolution will quickly consume your VRAM. Keep in mind that graphics-wise, STEP is not necessarily that much lighter than SR when using baseline. I hate to be the one to tell you, but my advise is to go with performance options when possible and to use DDSopt to cap all textures at 1k resolution and .5k normals. Even at 1k resolution it is hard to stay under the 1GB  vram limit. For comparison, I have a STEP:Core baseline setup on my pc with 1680x1050 resolution and a HD6950 2GB VRAM card. Almost all of the VRAM is consumed when playing the game. Usually it hovers between 1800 and 1950 MB. Also, after using DDSopt on all vanilla and DLC assets (as per the STEP DDSopt guide, tabs "using ddsopt" and "ddsopt optimization") and not using any other mod at all, my VRAM was at 950 MB.Â
  14. Probably not, unless your monitor has a very low resolution.
  15. If you're not sure what to do, then it's best to just always create the bashed patch.Â
  16. Yeah SVF must overwrite 6 fog records from prod80's patch. Actually, in the beginning SVF is really cool but after I saw it 5 times today it got a bit annoying. Removing it again in favor of CoT Weather Patch :P What about Real Clouds by the way?
  17. GDO and W&A not only alter the same fields within a record but also alter different fields within a record (formid). Therefore as rootsrat said the patch is necessary to merge both mods.Â
  18. Well done. Hellanios could you report this to qotsafan?Â
  19. I've used the classic https://www.memtest86.com/ recently to great success. The program is still kept up-to-date. Simple but effective. Can just put on a usb stick without external boot cd program. Also, this anandtech sticky might be infromative: https://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2195063 And in particular this post: https://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=35417592&postcount=180 I personally didn't use HCI though, used memtest86 for 24 hours and never looked back. My ram is not OC'd though. If you want to be on the 100% sure side then it's probably best to run both :P
  20. Yeah I've used JDR as well (you mentioend this sometime ago too :P). But FSR has many tracks which are basically a remixes of vanilla tracks. The default music you hear when entering riverwood for example. I've heard at least 3 variants of that song. This is nice at is not only new tracks but it gives some mroe diversity of vanilla tracks as well.Â
  21. I've looked through the github gelp guides for half an hour but I somehow can't figure it out. The application is installed, the github step core patch section is cloned to desktop. It is now marked a local repository. But all I can see in the github app are the readme files that essarbee made. The .esp files are not visibile. EDIT: Ok so the .esp files are apparently in my documents/GitHub/Step-patches. So if I put the edited file in there and then 'commit' to github, it should work? Ughh... I'll check it more later today.Â
  22. I don't get it... how do I upload a file? Created an account etc. but the interface is a big question mark to me.
  23. Smile, have you considered including Supreme and Volumetric Fog?
  24. How does it work if I make or want to propose changes? Do I upload the changed .esp at github? EDIT: Only found 2 things noteworthy so I'll mention them here now: 1. Waterbreathing Breathless Emerge.esp \ Dialog Topic \ 0010EEA4 Needs Patching: Forward USKP change 2. Gildergreen Regrown.esp \ Worldspace \ 0001A26F \ 0001A276 Probably doesn’t need patching: Uses the XLCW – Water Height record from USKP but Hearthfires has a different value. As there are no issues with GR mod we should probably leave it like that (i.e. at the value of USK) Other than that I think we can  say the patch for step:core is finished.
