Lots of testing today, noticed a couple of things which may or may not be useful information to you. It may also be incorrect. 1. It seems to me that the value for RAM = VRAM + Memblock1. When using default skse_steam_loader, my RAM is always approximately 256mb - 300mb higher than VRAM. When using the memory patch, my RAM appears to always be approximately 512mb - 600mb higher than VRAM.  This is only observable (obviously) when not using ENBoost. Anyone else notice the same thing, or am I missing something here? 2. No matter what texture size mods I throw at it or how many actors I spawn, when my max VRAM is reached - 2GB - then the highest amount of RAM I have seen so far is 2.7GB with uGrids 9 (highest uGrids amount I'd consider for a playthrough) and it seems not possible to go above that. 3. Using ENBoost or not using ENBoost made zero difference in stability unless going at uGrids 15 and above. Such high uGrids did increase RAM beyond 3GB and so it would make sense to use ENBoost in that case. Indeed I experienced problems without ENBoost at uGrids 15+ levels. 4. My game is now perfectly stable using SRLE (mostly 1K exterior textures, no ENB, no parallax textures) + uGrids 7 + SweetFX. Seeing as the primary function of ENBoost is to reduce RAM so that the game won't crash at 3.1GB RAM 32-bit limit, I assume people with 2GB (or lower) cards generally won't reach the 3.1gb RAM limit and can therefore choose to not use ENBoost. In my case, ENBoost causes small amounts of stutter while only using the mempatch there is no stutter. 5. EDIT: Ingame-tip: type "tb" in console. then on your map check how big of a step each increase in uGrids actually is. It's kind of big :) For some, I guess this stuff about ENBoost might be known information but nonetheless here's my experience of ENBoost in combination with mempatch.Â

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
Nearox replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
After another day of testing SRLE (my 3rd install since coming back to modding) I have finally found the culprit that caused CTDs on my setup. After the full install, I disabled category by category to determine where the error was. The CTD occured every time between 15 and 25minutes of playing so it was very annoying to test :P Anyways, it was entirely (as I expected) due to my own wrongdoing. I noticed the CTDs stopped when I disabled the creature mods Bellyaches, CH & SIC. Then I found out that I didn't put config the MCM settings yet. After disabling the autoloot function from CH and putting SIC profile at Purist instead of Default, all crashes are gone and the game runs stable @ ugrids7. I am not sure which of the 2 actually caused the CTDs, but I suspect it was a global script which started to run about 10-20minutes every time after starting the game. Also am still not 100% convinced that either of these mods have faulty scripts. CH has basically never caused any issues for me and SIC has a rigoruos test team which basically rules out errors on SIC's part. Second, there is another issue which I haven't been able to solve with the SRLE mods: Using the guide's skin&body mods, the females in particular have bad neck seams and sometimes even mismatching body and face skin colors. I've gone through reinstalling them multiple times but I cannot get rid of the issue with the SRLE mods. However, when I apply the skins from NO More Ugly Bronze Shrine or when using the full UNP replacer pack of Alt Nuvetsa NP Seamless then there are no more mismatchign body & face colors and also the seaming is reduced to minimal levels. I get the feeling I am missing something here but I cant figure out for the life of me where I go wrong... Followed the directions to the letter multiple times now.  -
This is the one maddening thing that I would like to resolve. I use Alt+Tab to bring up VMMap or Process Hacker (skyrim is running and I hear the audio still) and then attempt to Alt+Tab back into Skyrim. First try gives me black windowed mode (still hear Skyrim audio up to this point). The secont Alt+Tab results in TESV process crash.I figured out the Alt+Tab issue: Skyrim Performance Monitor causes the crash when attempting to Alt+Tab back into the game, when the "Attempt support for custom D3D9.dll" experimental option is enabled. When either disabled and/or "Save mode" is enabled, the counters do not appear in game, and Alt+Tabbing works without issue. Untick the d3d9.dll compatibility box to disable in-game counters whilst allowing for normal data logging and graph update. Only the in-game counters are incompatible with Alt+Tabbing. I assume that this is caused by a hooking issue with d3d9.dll or with TESV itself. Regardless, it has nothing to do with the skse mempatch hack and everything to do with d3d9.dll compat with SPM. For me, SPM has worked different with different ENB versions as well as different SweetFX versions. SweetFX 1.51 for instance does show the SPM counters, but SweetFX 1.3 doesn't. It is indeed a hooking issue which I contacted the SPM author about some time ago and he said it is hard to make it work for every d3d9*.dll... SO you may be lucky or unlucky depending on the version you use. Thanks for confirming that ENBoost is not a requirement for efficacy of this fix. I can confirm this as well. However I do suspect that the reason ENBoost is listed as a requirement is because the mempatch essentially adds 256mb (or more) to the TESV.exe process, which would result in people hitting the 3.1gb limit earlier if the ram (derived from vram in d3d9) is not offloaded to enbhost.exe. At least that's how I understood it so far. Correct me if wrong.

Do read the step enb guide, it'll clarify a lot for you

SKYRIMLE Skyrim.exe - The Way It Should Have Been by Kahenraz
Nearox replied to Kahenraz's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Nice mod, which is really useful when testing out mods and switching windows all the time. That said, I do believe that your mod title comes across to me as slightly off... Perhaps even a little misleading. No offense intended at all, I'm greatful for the mod and the effort you put in it, but saying "skyrim.exe the way it should've been" sorta implies to me that it is a kind of memory/stability fix... Something like SkyWindow (just to give an example) would be much more befitting. Not a rant, just a thought. But that might just be me :P -
Well if you can run through the vanilla game at ugrids 9+ , with speedmult 500 and not crash for an hour (hell, before this patch ugrids9 would typically crash witihin minutes), as many others have done, then yes the patch works... Try this on your own system and figure out how high you can go with ugrids and vanilla (perhaps with the USPs installed just to rule out ctds/freezes related to bad vanilla stuff). Then you know it works, and that it is a particular mod/mod list which is causing your game to crash. I'd strongly urge you to do make use of z's 'steps' to verify the patch works on your system. I am also still getting CTDs and haven't been able to find out which mod it is, but I know 100% sure that the mempatch is able to keep the game stable at levels never seen before.Â

Yeah the stom atronach is the one that stands out to me. Don't like the fire one and undecided on the ice. -
WALL - Immersive Clothing & Equipment
Nearox replied to Nearox's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Thx for your suggestions. Back in october I was seriously considering making this pack. At the moment though I am too busy with SRLE/mempatch and perhaps actually playing the game again for once :P. Next up is VEGA pack, which I'll btw alter to be more focused on combat & enemies, and after that I'll most likely continue with an equipment pack like this... Would be great if we could compile such a pack with a small group of people :) -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
Nearox replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Noticed by the way when DDSopting Dagi-Raht with DXTx and 2048x2048 (which is same characteristics as the textures are orignally in) that it creates (missing) mipmaps (from 2 to 12) and that it converts unecessary DXT5 textures to DTX1. Might be small saving going from approx 13mb to 8mb but still :P -
SKYRIMLE Apocalypse Spell Package (by Enai Siaion)
Nearox replied to ivactheseeker's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The Nexus tracker often doesn't report on mods that receive updates... Thx for the reminder, been anticipating Enai's update for quite some time! -
Damn you too :P

Run the manual installer twice, setting the "data" directory each time on the one mentioned by SRLE. -
SkyRe Compatibility and ReProccer Patches @ Nexus I've been away from modding for some time. Just discovered this patch collection was added to nexus at the 8th of december. It appears to have a huge amount of up-to-date patches, including added compatibility for recent versions of WAF, CCF, DD, BCS 2.6, IA7 & Falskaar factions. Has anyone tried these and could you share your experience? (For those looking at it for 1st time, do check the readme section at the mod page by the way, there's more extensive info for each patch).

Yep that's it Octopuss.

Neo, some great additions lately to SRLE! Btw, I think the hornsareforever.esp is a dummy esp, it only has a file header. -
Could you tell me where to find the one built with VS2008? Edit: nvm, found them at https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/24235/?Â

SKYRIMLE Skyrim Immersive Creatures (by lifestorock)
Nearox replied to phazer11's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I think it is worth mentioning that the authors of SIC made a fantastic patch for HLE. This is not an ordinary compatibility patch, it does so much more. Best part is that it makes the HLE added creatures (which are only added in the game via leveled lists, not spawns) controllable and configurable via the SIC MCM menu. Also they now use the great SIC spells & perks instead of the default/HLE ones. This results in  a more difficult and variable game which we are able to balance the way we like it. I think quite a few people have missed this because it hasn't been flagged as an update to SIC so it wouldn't have shown up in your nexus tracker. Link to SIC-HLE Edition This makes using HLE with any mod setup basically a no-brainer to me. -
The important part is actually in the lowest table. Sort that one by size and check if they're either 256/256mb (i.e. not patched) or 512/256mb (i.e. patched.)

The 770 is nvidia's 7x generation card marketed for SLI configurations, just like the 670, though it also works good ofc for single card. IMHO: Whatever you do, think future-proof. This means: 1) plenty of vram 2) possibilities for expansion down the raod. As for 1) 4gb vram is more than enough at the moment, and you can check some anandtech tests of 4k resolution with BF4 at high only requiring 3-3.5gb of vram... so 4gb is imo gonna be future-proof for quite a few years assuming very few will make the giant leap that is 4K gaming. Skyrim with HD textures is usually more demanding in terms of vram than other games. As for 2) Modern 80-plus certified PSU's will generally last for a long time, especially those from A-class manufacturers. Many give 5 years or more warranty (even 7 or 8 if I recall correct, but a good PSU will last longer than that). A 750 silver certified or better a 850w GPU with at least bronze certification will give you the room necessary for a possible future 2nd card in SLI/CF as well as overclocking room for CPU. Unless you are 100% sure you don't want SLI/CF, I'd spend the extra 50 bucks or so for a decent 750/850 watt PSU and never worry about it again for nearly a decade. Also, 2nd hand GPU offers about 1 or 2 years down the road are usually very cheap and can get you top class performance. You can expect the 770 to go for approximately 40-50% of the price in 2 years. The best investment in a PC is the PSU, but it is often overlooked. The corsair AX series (e.g. AX760) is one of the most popular I think.

"- Mod Organizer can now display most image types (including dds) and txt files from the data tree, presenting a comparison of variants in case of overwritten files". Haven't tried the beta yet but this sounds like an extremely useful feature.

ACCEPTED Audio Overhaul for Skyrim (by David Jegutidse)
Nearox replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
That had always been the major reason why I didn't like SoS... I thought AOS didn't do that, but perhaps I simply didn't notice. -
SKYRIMLE Dwarven Mechanical Dragons - Guardians of Kagrenzel Edition by egocarib

Yeah I think SIC uses the mechs from https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/24587/? -
If you use cell stabilizer (aka stableugridstoload) then you can simply set the ugrids to 7 while playing the game, no need for uexterior cell buffer.Â
