z929669 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 That's a good question for Z, but I will say that no user with I agree. We can make mention of alt3rn1ty's and Tony's stuff in the guide (not sure Vano's is relevant anymore)Currently the Fomod instructions for this mod look like this:If we update to the new Fomod template, it will either look like this:Or like this if I split it halfway: Bear in mind this will be worse for anyone using a resolution lower than 1080 (where the words bleed over). I think Z was right, sometimes the old one is just simpler (when there is only one option to select on each page). There is still the option of decreasing the margins/padding in that template. there is too much whitespace and wasted real estate, IMO.
TechAngel85 Posted March 5, 2015 Author Posted March 5, 2015 Since DY hasn't done so yet, I can possibly look into that today.
Neovalen Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 SR:LE makes extensive use of this template so if you need a place to verify any changes impacts feel free to check it. Some of the FOMODs are quite long, I've personally split them at 5 pages max and I've gotten no complaints.
TechAngel85 Posted March 5, 2015 Author Posted March 5, 2015 I've done what I can with it. Reduced most whitespace by half although it isn't very noticeable.
z929669 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 I've done what I can with it. Reduced most whitespace by half although it isn't very noticeable.I was talking more about the giant horizontal space between Options (see aMidianborn), the vertical space above the buttons, and the horizontal space between the 'bubbles' and the outer borders. I will give it a go EDIT: I reverted back to DY's last version, as the spacing is better in that for now. The real issue (in addition to those I noted above) is the large spacing above the bullets. Reduce that, and the above-mentioned, and it will be much tighter without losing any readability
TechAngel85 Posted March 5, 2015 Author Posted March 5, 2015 Yeah, I tried to play around to reduce that but could find anything specifically controlling it.
z929669 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 It is the div and the mw-collapsible class I think. Adding a style to the parent div element may do it. Otherwise, I will likely need to modify some of the skin CSS. Also need to define a modified li element.
z929669 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Also, why the heck are there ampersands in between the template calls on the mod pages? Also, these do not collapse as do the examples on the template page .... none of this is explained in the template doc, so need DY or someone else to illuminate.
DoubleYou Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Ampersands = &. At-sign = @ Are you referring to the @? If so, it was to just use a random delimiter to help compatibility with inputs. Commas and the like often occur, so using the @ pretty much guarantees no conflict with text. Space is due to the invisibility span plus line break and the automatic line break from using a list element. I intend to remove the list element and replace it with checkboxes and bullets like in the actual fomod installer to get rid of the list element issue. Then I can remove the line break altogether and hopefully find a way to get around the span that keeps the title from overflowing so that it doesn't give an automatic indent. Somehow I doubt ya'll will understand a word I just said  Discussion of the template development should be made on its thread.
TechAngel85 Posted March 5, 2015 Author Posted March 5, 2015 I'm quite proficient with HTML and CSS so I know exactly what you're saying. I seen the hidden span but didn't think anything of it.
DoubleYou Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Expand doesn't work on some pages as there is something in conflict with it on the wiki and I don't know what.
Xaviien Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Expand doesn't work on some pages as there is something in conflict with it on the wiki and I don't know what.I've been meaning to ask about that. I noticed SR:LE has all the expand/collapse options, as well as the actual Fomod template page, but it never appears when I use the template.
DoubleYou Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Z, could you go do a replace of all the https://static#.nexusmods.com ... urls for pictures to static-# (extra hyphen between static and number) to get the image galleries fixed (why does Nexus keep changing this!).
TechAngel85 Posted March 9, 2015 Author Posted March 9, 2015 Update OP and the Dev Guide to include The Ruffled Feather and all the changes that come with it (removed mods). Will update changelog momentarily.
EssArrBee Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 My LOOT masterlist changes were merged to the main repo a couple days ago, so can someone make sure they all exist in the masterlist and that our wiki is up to date with them. Here's my changes: https://github.com/loot/skyrim/commit/856c1ab252cbd1a2db58e1f6496c9e7ffacd3fae
