LOOT (by WrinklyNinja & Team)

You guys should carefully read the Dawnguard cleaning instructions.

which is where? I am trying to search for it and coming up short.

EDIT: What I have found so far is nothing more than what I have already read, mainly the TES5 CK wiki page that gives instructions on how to clean the masters and in what order. Already knew that, did that and LOOT still says there are 6 dirty edits. So what new information are you pointing to?

EDIT2: Thank you, cleaning it twice was the issue.

Anyone else having a problem with LOOT wanting to places RSChildren.esm right after the Update.esm causing the masters of RSChildren - Complete.esp to be out of order. All editing metadata does is cause cyclic errors, it simply refuses to load it below the DLCs

Edit: so the problem comes from the USKP being told to load after RSChildren.esm, except I didn't tell it to do this and I can't remove the stipulation, which leads me to believe either something is messed up in my LOOT setup or someone added this to the LOOT masterlist.

Indeed, some LOOT masterlist update changed that. And it is entirely stupid and unnecessary, and someone should inform the LOOT team of that. The USKP conflicts are in the RSChildren - Complete.esp, not the esm. Nothing, not one thing, in the RSChildren.esm edits any same record as Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp. At all. None. While there is no overlap between the two, this could cause unnecessary incompatibility with other mods and should be removed. Unfortunately, I've yet to figure out how to contribute to LOOT. It must be easy, if this incorrect rule sneaked in.

Would the BethSoft forum thread be a place to start? I'm posting a query paraphrasing your concern there now.

Received response, quoting Arthmoor:

"The above is correct about RSkyrimChildren.esm. There are no conflicting edits at all between it and the USKP. Not even with the current development track for 2.0.6. The rule has no reason to exist in this case.

RSChildren - Complete.esp cannot be sorted before the USKP since it's a regular ESP file, not a false-flagged file."

My response:

Excellent, thanks for the confirmation. Unfortunately I can't delete that rule from LOOT as it isn't user added (unless I'm missing something). Any ideas on how I could report this to the appropriate LOOT team (unless posting here is a proper report)?

Exactly. I bet someone erroneously thought sorting the ESM before the USKP would remove the need for the patch file. Hopefully the rule disappears. LOOT sorts RS Children correctly automatically in all cases I've seen so far without any rules.

Quoting SilentSpike (LOOT team member):

"This thread is fine  You can also use the relevant github repository issue tracker if that's more convenient. The rule for RSkyrimChildren.esm was provided with the reason:

Quote

Realistic Skyrim Children has some odd load conditions, and needs to be   loaded before the USKP (with a compatibility patch after the USKP) in   order to prevent it from interfering with USKP fixes that it didn't   carry over without breaking its functionality."

So issue reported. Thanks for bringing it up, now we've got a couple points of contact for future issues if needed.

appdatalocalLOOT... That is where might is at.

Great thanks.

I think my load order is actually fine after looking at it...LOOT sorted it out and my rules doing work for things In eeded in a ceratain way.

Now my problem is determing which mods are the most FPS hit and removing those (not from STEP but from the mods I added)  Getting still 45-60 FPS but it's feeling bogged down...

Wellp, I just got the dreaded 0x800f0a12 error. I can't install Sp1 for Win7. And without SP1 no IE update and without IE, no working LOOT. I've spent the best part of a day googling how to fix the damn problem and short of wiping my Linux partition (not going to happen) I don't know what else to try.

*sigh*

How badly broken is BOSS these days, anyway?
