Requiem Pack (WIP)

Recommended Posts

Posted

I've been doing a requiem play through using the old patches, and so I know the Closefaced helmets will need a patch. It works fine for NPCs , and for items that you make, but with the tempering added in, when you wear a tempered item from an NPC, your face disappears in the helmet. It's just annoying, but it's a similar problem to SIC and Improved close faced helmets.

I figure the patches that will be least needed will be the patches for armour and weapons, as the reproccer will fix that issue.

So far I've had no crashes, so that's pretty good! I'm running a Skyrim Revisited with Requiem 8.1.1 and STEP REGS as well.

hello,
thanks for all the effort put into the guide, but some things are not clear to me, so i hope to find some insight

here.

first, i have done a complete step:extended installation, which works fine and is error free. the esp order list at

this moment includes the "STEP Extended Patch.esp", is sorted by LOOT, and tailed by "Bashed Patch, 0.esp" built with

WyreBash. so far so good.

now i'm trying to add requiem 1.8.1.1 to the picture. stop me here if i'm too early and this is not yet supported ;)

anyway, i am following your guide and here are my questions:
- removed the core step and extended step mods as suggested.

Q: shouldnt "traps are dangerous" be removed too, i assumed this is game mechanic that is changed in requiem anyway?

- added the patch esps from soul gems differ and AOS.
Q: AOS2_Requiem1.7.3 Patch.esp - is this still working for 1.8 for now or will it cause trouble?
Q: what other mods need compatibility patches, can they be listed? i found animated weapon enchants, even better

quest objectives, soul gems differ, for example. can these be added to the table in the wiki like "comp. patch for

requiem - bring out your dead" ? it would make it a bit more clear on what is required exactly.

- Requiem: installing it in MO as a mod. no questions

- Requiem Patch Central:
Q: i cannot find Heavy Shield Fix. searched the download page for "heavy", "Shield", "HSF". nothing. outdated?
Q: Bolts visualized gave me a headache, see below.
Q: Requiem - SPTConsistentOlderPeople Patch.esp - does (STEP only) mean, for step extended i dont need it?

at this point my loadlist looks like: STEP Extended - Requiem.esp - Requiem Resources.esp - Requiem patches xxx.esp -

Bashed Patch 0.esp

trying to follow your advice to merge the patches, i get the following error in tes5edit:
Fatal: <Exception: "ExplosiveBoltsVisualized.esp" requires master "Requiem.esp" to be loaded before it.
after some fiddling around, it turns out "ExplosiveBoltsVisualized.esp" needs to be loaded after requiem.esp, but

since the STEP Extended Patch references that file too, the STEP Extended Patch also needs to be loaded after

Requiem.esp.
which now confuses me, where in the load order should i put the STEP Extended Patch exactly? i was under the

impression that Requiem should be last, to "win" any conflicts. if i put the step patch after requiem, doesn't it

overwrite most of the requiem stuff? sorry for the noob question, i just want to understand this correctly.

- the next one is "Patches for STEP CORE, Extended and SR:LE"
i added it and now the loadlist looks like the following:
STEP Extended - Requiem.esp - Requiem Resources.esp - Requiem patches xxx.esp - ExplosiveBoltsVisualized.esp - STEP

Extended Patch.esp - STEP Pack Requiem Patch.esp - Bashed Patch 0.esp

but now the STEP Pack Requiem Patch lights up with a red warning flag: missing master imp_helm_imp.esp
i found an answer here: https://forum.step-project.com/topic/4558-requiem-pack-wip/?view=findpost&p=97174
Q: so... not use it? why not update the wiki then? :)

- next is the loadlist in the guide. only one question.
Q: i see Requiem - CCOR Patch.esp, - Hearthfires.esp and - Dragonborn - CCOR Patch.esp. i assume this is just an

order list, in reality i only have one of those files loaded, right?

- this brings me to the last part: building a bashed patch, and building "Requiem for the Indifferent.esp". i tried to

understand this from the requiem installation manual, and just need confirmation if i got it right:

move "bashed patch, 0.esp" to the end of the list, if it already exists
move "Requiem for the indifferent.esp" to the end, if it already exists, even after bashed patch.
run wyrebash and rebuild the bashed patch with the correct settings
 run the skyproc patcher

when i do it like this, there is the error message in wyrebash:
"Soul Gems Differ - Requiem.esp: Could not locate Strings File 'Soul Gems Differ - Requiem_ENGLISH.STRINGS'"

the skyproc patchers finishes without error.

- so far so good, all done, starting skyrim ... and get a CTD right before the menu finishes loading.
turns out "Soul Gems Differ - Requiem.esp" was the culprit.

i removed it for now, rebuilding bashed and indifferent, no more CTD.

thanks for all the work on this and possible answers on my questions.

The guide says quite clearly to use the 1.73 version as the patches used by this guide are not compatible with 1.8+. I will update the guide when the patches are updated. That said Azirok has disappeared so no idea when that will be. There is a new set of patches which are awaiting testing these seem ideal for STEP but not as yet enough for SR:LE or indeed REGS. One of these patches gives you pretty much all that you need for STEP Extended, though not completely which is why I am not updating the guide yet. - LINK. You just need the "Requiem - Unofficial Patches Patch and Dragonborn Reqtified" patch near the end of the list for now. This should get things working but does not have all the bits you need yet, e.g. Close faced helmets. Some of these are minor though so you should be able to get things working with just this patch linked and the new updated BOYD patch as linked in the guide.

I'm a bit confused.  I'm running REQ 1.7.3 and have just started Helgen.  I've noticed that my armor values seem whacked.  For example : Stormcloak Curaiss has a value an armor rating of 182, imperial shield 138, Imperial bracers 72, etc.  I checked TES5edit for Requiem and I don't see these ratings anywhere.  My bashed patch, 0.esp only includes leveled lists.    I've spent months working on this mod list and while extensive haven't really messed with anything other than the packs posted on these boards.   Could it be that playing a Nord ramps these values so ?    I don't have much PLAY experience since all I ever do is MOD this game but those rating don't look like anything I've played in my past REQ runs.   Thanks all.

I included my load order.

I just noticed I had heavy shield fix active which is not needed if running hard times ?   I also may not have had the latest resources mod and hard times either.  I'm reinstalling now...

No change.  Was wondering if any Requiem players here see this as correct values.   I did find something in REDDIT that stated a full set of heavy armor has an armor rating of 550.  I simply have nothing to compare this too however...

Requiem basically multiplies armor and weapon values by around 4 so 550 is not so far out when you consider that a weapon does a lot more damage. This means that if you wear heavy armor with perks you can survive fights quite well but a low level character in light armor had better be fast on his feet or sneaky else he's toast. This is a deliberate function of Requiem your health stamina etc, tend to be on the low side to ensure that you play strategically. This system has been tweaked considerably in the latest version an improvement by all accounts.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Smile, yes I saw some info on reddit so I think my game is good.   This part.  So far.   :^_^:

As for 1.73 MCM stat configuration did you play it right out of the box or did you have to tweak some settings to make compensate for anything too weak/strong ?

Posted

Nah I use the original settings, when you tweak you potentially put things out of balance. It works well as it is, the tweaks that I might play with are the weight of gold and or arrows. I leave some weight on the arrows but I find it too much of a pain when testing not being able to carry much even though it is more realistic. When I get back to Requiem myself for my full on tough play through i will leave all the weights as they are and try to keep it real - it is more fun that way as a game but annoying if you are testing mod compatibility.

This pack look awesome and I would love to use it, great work :D

I have installed STEP Core + extended and wonder how I should proceed to install the different packs mentioned as compatible and Requiem?

Where do I start?

Cheers :)

Requiem pretty much goes at the bottom of your load list. You should be able to follow the guide and tack the relevant downloads onto the end of a current install. You will need a new game, though.

I'm sure Smile44 will be in shortly for more up to date details, though.

Tricky one to answer without knowing which ones you want to install. Let me know and I will get back to you with guidance. My packs should all be self explanatory as should REGS. Of course that does not mean that you will work it out straight away. If you have a fully working STEP install that you did yourself, you should be able to install all the packs. They are designed to be installed after all STEP mods, but you can mix them into relevant sections should you feel confident to do so but I would install each pack separately and test. E.G if you wanted to install my packs then go Survival Pack - then test. Weather and lighting - then test, Then Requiem pack.

When using LOOT as instructed by STEP you will run into some issues with Requiem. It ideally needs to load very late in your load order with any patches loading after it. My basic advice is to use LOOT to order everything before installing Requiem and it's patches then manually order them in the load order shown on the guide. The more advanced advice is to let LOOT sort everything including Requiem and then build a compatibility patch to bring forward any conflicts that you want Requiem to win (which should be all of them).

Hope this helps for now.
