Kelmych Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I kinda feel like NVEC and MMUE+ are kinda like guides in their own right. They have just been around for so long that they have combined the process into one big mod. I am actually thinking of moving toward FOOK-PN Convergence. It has a few levels that you can use and I think the first two are pretty awesome, but AWOP would be user preference. I haven't had a chance yet to compare these with the Yukichigai patch yet, but I was quite surprised when I compared the resources (primarily meshes, textures, sounds) and the plugins for MMUE and NVED. I found a lot less overlap than I expected; much of what they provided seemed fairly independent. Not the stuff that obviously has to be similar to work with the major mods like Project Nevada, WMX, AWOP, etc. but the rest of these 2 mods.
EssArrBee Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 I know that Yukichigai got permission to use the big project's stuff in his his patch so it's just a matter of him having time to add it in and get over his bronchitis. I'd like if a bunch of mods started treating it as a USKP type thing and implementing the fixes. I did that with ADAM plugin I made and also for some WMX patches I'm working on.

I've been exploring Wrye a bit more, found out it plays nice with NVSE plugins if you tell it to.I'm curious about NVEC, but it has its own installer. I wanted to throw it in Wrye so I could see conflicts, and just how many plugins it needs.YUP should definitely be FNV's USKP, Iike that Y lists the additional fixes he would include if not for permission - makes it easy to install them myself.Oh, turns out I love BUM. It really turns BOSS up to 11.

Any patches I add will include yup fixes for mods already in the guide. Have you been using my ADAM plugins yet? I haven't actually started a new game to test them and am still using the old ones.
redirishlord Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I have your merged + patch ADAMs installed, but haven't got to playing yet. I did a clean reinstallation of the game, then tried to switch to MO (so slow...and so missing the features I love from BAIN), then went back to Wrye, cleaned up my mod build, learned a few things and fired up BUM to benefit from your recent additions. Now I just need to renumber my classic music tracks for R.A.C.E. radio and I should be good to go (fingers crossed that my HUD install fix worked).

Laurens is a brilliant mod, adds so much and Fallout really makes you realize just how much of the world is just bathrooms.Yam's conflicts with Open Strip or Open Freeside which I want to test, so I'm holding off on that until I make a decision on those mods. I'm also set on Hectrol's Duststorm, but both are good and can be interchanged no problem.

By the way, even though the guide is young I've already found a lot of mods I'll be integrating into my FNV setup as well as the instructions for using Mod Organizer. Thanks!
EssArrBee Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 Oh cool, at least people are using it. I've converted the Improved Sound FX - WMX patch to the merged DLC from WMX. The Improved Sounds FX - WMX GRA Sharing fix is the one I can't figure out since it uses injected records to WMX GRA plugin, and I can't figure out how to get the plugin to change to injecting the WMX Merged plugin. dDefinder has given permission to anyone to make patches, so once I figure it out I'll post the new patches.
