EssArrBee Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Just the blood textures which are a separate 1k file from the main EBT download should be the Core recommended textures for blood.
Garfink Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 You can use the 1K textures alone without the rest of the mod? That's nice.
EssArrBee Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 You can use the 1K textures alone without the rest of the mod? That's nice. That file is just a replacer Data->textures->blood. Very nice for those that just like the awesome blood RAN made. Also, you could just extract the 2k textures from the main file and not use anything else if you want really high resolution gore.
z929669 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Yes, we will incorporate the EBT textures only. Just not the plugin/scripts, etc.
Deathwing514 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Alright I got a quick question regarding the extraction of the 2k version in the main file. When I opened the blood folder, there seems to be 75 items, while in the 1024 blood texture folder contains only 54 items. My question is, do i extract exactly the 54 items in the main file or use all 75 textures?
EssArrBee Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 The extra files won't hurt anything, so you can extra them out if you aren't using the plugin.
Deathwing514 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 So I just tried the blood texture only, and to my surprise the 5 bandits I killed did not create a blood puddle that usually happens on vanilla. Is this suppose to happen? or do I have to install meshes also?
phosphor Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Blood puddles aren't in vanilla are they? That was an ebt script as far as I know. Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 4
torminater Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Haha, this mod has become part of vanilla for me as well ;-)
Deathwing514 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 After some extensive test with this mod on and off. I realized that this mod does so much to the immersion/realism to the game. In the vanilla game, all you see is a blood dot on the floor when the enemy dies. However, using this mod, you actually see a blood puddle when the enemy dies which makes it more realistic compared to the drop of blood. I for one dont believe this mod can cause any major issues compared to burn freeze shock, skyrealisitic, and deadly spell impacts mods. Considering I have used this mod since the beginning, I have yet to see any major ctd that directly points the fingers to this mod. As a result, this mod cannot be removed as it makes skyrim less enjoyable for my personal setup.
Aiyen Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Not really a matter of belief... just a matter of having enough scripts running. It can cause just as much issue as any other script based mod. If you can live without wet and cold, frostfall etc. then sure you can run with it without any issues.. but running with large amounts of them... nope. Perhaps if threading issues ever get solved. Deadly spell impacts is mainly a weird engine issue since it apparently does not like decals being too large res I think. At least reducing the size of the textures make most issues directly related to that mod go away.
z929669 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I think that too much blood is rather unrealistic. You would need to cleanly slice a major artery to get noticeable blood puddling, which does not really happen often or only when slicing off limbs or heads. Even then, puddling is surprisingly minimal (living bodies and beating hearts ... AND clean-cut arteries lead to big puddles). And blood spatter from blunt trauma is subtle. It would be good to see a lot of blood if you stood there slicing up or beating your fallen enemy for a minute or two. That is a less-intensive scripted action I would think. I always thought that the blood-enhancement mods just took bleeding way too far, so I personally won't miss this literal overkill.
TechAngel85 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 This mod hasn't been in my install in a good way and I personally haven't missed it.
