This mod is no longer available on Nexus - it's not just hidden, it's been completely removed. This is an issue since it's a hard dependency for the STEP CR Patch.

The STEP Guide now links to AFK Mods for downloading the mod. Which is fine I guess, except:

- Registering an account on a site only to download a couple of mods is a hassle;

- Its treatment is inconsistent (no pun intended) with that of Consistent Older People which has been made optional with STEP CR Patch 1.03 because it's only available from AFK Mods.

Why not make Oakwood optional as well and remove the hard dependency?

Not wanting to register an account on AFK Mods, I found Oakwood on Mod DBhttps://www.moddb.com/mods/oakwood - where it can be downloaded freely without an account. In case you weren't aware, Arthmoor appears to have uploaded a subset of their Skyrim SE mods on Mod DB (from which Helarchen Creek is strangely missing). I'm saying "appears to" because I don't know if the user is really Arthmoor, but it looks legit.

Linking to Mod DB instead of AFK Mod might be an option to consider if the hard dependency is to be maintained.

Yeah, that's Arthmoor. He said he would be using that site ... my guess is that he is not loving hosting mods on AFK. We are still pointing to AFK for now though until we reach a consensus. We will likely point to ModDB as the main source and use AFK Mods as an alternate.

The whole modding process is a 'hassle' if you think about it. Registering on AFK is really of no concern, IMO. We have an announcement and a poll on this. Most agree with my POV, but feel free to post there and vote.

Has anyone looked at other alternative Oakwood-mods? This one just got released on Nexus.

No, but we've discussed dropping Oakwood in favor of Moon and Star. This is mainly because Oakwood is for "decoration" while Mood and Star actually adds content so the town has a purpose and the play has a reason to visit.

The new Oakwood version has this error on loot *This plugin requires "ccBGSSSE001-Fish.esm" to be installed, but it is missing.* so we need a version for 1.5.97 is there any chance?

You will have to skip this mod. The STEP Patches has the option to skip it, so it will be fine.

I was about to tell that I've skipped. I have disabled Oakwood in MO2 and hide the plugin that "Landscape Fixes For Grass Mods" used for Oakwood.

We've talked about just dropping this mod, because it really doesn't add any value to the game. It's just a village with nothing to do so it's just filling space. I think Helarchen Creek is the same; it's just generic content that fills space. No real reason to go there.
