plaGGy
Most likely False alarm.... if you are unsure, check with Virus Total. But afaik Nexus already does that with most mods. Edited October 18, 2016 by plaGGy
DoubleYou
How exactly does the Enderal support work? On the drop down menu to choose the game there is no Enderal option, so how does Bethini know that I want to setup Enderal besides the path to the .ini? I would like to know this because I have been experiencing low framerate and a lot of stuttering even with my GTX 1060. I assume there is something not configured right.BethINI automatically detects it based on the contents of the Enderal generated INI file.
DoubleYou
Anyone else getting Windows Defender (in Windows 10) quarantining the .exe as a trojan?Windows Defender shouldn't. That's what I use, and it doesn't have a problem with it. All the major antiviruses recognize BethINI as harmless, and only one or two antiviruses that I have never heard of throw a generic false positive detection on it. Avastgard
BethINI automatically detects it based on the contents of the Enderal generated INI file. Here's the thing: I installed Enderal through Mod Organizer following Gopher's instruction video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C74LjT96pr0. Long story short, I created a profile where Enderal is the only mod installed. Will the ini files be correctly assigned to the Enderal profile folder in MO? If I tell BethINI to look there for the .ini files, will it change them correctly? Edited October 18, 2016 by Avastgard
federation25
Yes! Double checked it today. It is definitely BethINI from the nexus.Yesterday, Win Defender started freaking out on BethINI for me too. Previously it completely ignored it, so the issue may be a recent definition file from MS. I had to go into the quarantine menu and tell Defender to allow it. Apparently what its being identified as is something rather nasty too, which is why Defender wouldn't even let me download BethINI from Nexus without quarantining the zip. I will have to add an exception to my development folder if that is the case.
DoubleYou
Ok, so I have looked into it, and Windows Defender on Windows 10 for me gives no detection at all, so I honestly don't understand how you could be experiencing trouble with it. Virustotal shows the same thing it always has, only two obscure antiviruses throw a false positive on it. I have sent a false positive report to Baidu, but I can't do anything about Jiangmin, since they are Chinese.
federation25
I just tried executing BethINI and Windows Defender nuked BethINI yet again. This time it identified it as a completely different malware. That's actually the thing, it only happened when I tried running it, not when I scan so the issue is with the Real Time protection. TechAngel85
I'm using MS Security Essentials on Windows 7 (definition versions 1.231.66.0). I ran BethINI v1.3 just the other day (and just now) without any issues. Just add it to the exclusion list if it's giving you fits for some reason. federation25
It seems like I always get the weird issues anyway. One thing to note is that I am on Anniversary edition now, so that may influence Defender's behavior. As Tech said, the quick option is just to exclude it. EpiclyRalphy
Hey DoubleYou, I was wondering whether this'd work out of the box with Skyrim Special Edition or if we'd have to wait for an update?
CovertSlinky
Hey DoubleYou, I was wondering whether this'd work out of the box with Skyrim Special Edition or if we'd have to wait for an update?Oh, no, bad idea there. Have you looked at the ini's yet? They changed alot of things, how things are worded and where they belong. iVsyncPresentInterval is the new vsync option and actually functions from within the prefs ini this time. It's not to say that everything is fine now, cause we all know how that won't be true. But I was thinking about your utility you made DoubleYou and how much painstaking time and effort you went through fact checking the ini's line by line. Hopefully your efforts will have at least some bearing on this new ini setup.
DoubleYou
I will have to massively update this for SSE, as it is essentially an entirely different game. No ETA. I have been quite busy lately.
TehKaoZ
Hello DoubleYou. I am using BethINI for Fallout 4 and wanted to point out that it seems to disable Rain Occlusion. I have to manually add bEnableRainOcclusion=1 to my Fallout4Pref.ini after every run on BethINI since it removes the line and disables it. Just wanted to let you know.
