Aeradom Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 (edited) Oh man! I saw the date on the first post and thought there were 26 pages worth generated just today and I was like... how? why? Love the tool by the way. So happy 1 year anniversary (having the page up on here I mean). Edited September 21, 2016 by Aeradom
DoubleYou Posted September 21, 2016 Author Posted September 21, 2016 Wow. I didn't even realize that. It's come a long way since then.
GrantSP Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 A year!! That went way too fast. A sign I'm getting old when time passes so quickly. Nice job @DoubleYou.
Darth_mathias Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Hi DoubleYou I am curious to know why there is no value for f3PBoltTiltUpAngle in BethINI?
DoubleYou Posted October 3, 2016 Author Posted October 3, 2016 Simple. The setting does not exist. It was merely assumed to exist since people associate it with its bow and arrow counterpart.

TeflonBilly Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 First off, love your tool, it really is a true benefit to the modding comunity. Thank you for taking the time to make it. I do have a feature request: Under the Gameplay Tab in the Combat block, would you add "fVisibleNavmeshMoveDist" to the archery tweaks?
Audley Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Wonderful tool DoubleYou. It is invaluable for sure. I did have two questions though: 1. For Fallout New Vegas (and presumably Fallout 3), why don't you have an option to remove mouse acceleration within the launcher? 2. Why do the values for Fallout New Vegas (stuff like distance sliders, light, shadows, objects, etc.) do not line up with the sliders within the in-game menu? For example, if I use the BethINI values for Ultra in New Vegas, the light fade slider appears to be much lower in the in-game display settings. Was curious as to why that was? Thanks.

I should add this to the Gameplay tab, so I will see about it. On 10/4/2016 at 7:01 PM, Audley said: Wonderful tool DoubleYou. It is invaluable for sure. I did have two questions though: 1. For example, if I use the BethINI values for Ultra in New Vegas, the light fade slider appears to be much lower in the in-game display settings. Was curious as to why that was? Thanks. 1. I merely haven't gotten that far yet. 2. There is a technical reason for this, and it affects all the games. It is because the in-game settings change only one setting, and I change multiple settings. Because of this, I change the setting that adjusts the in-game settings so that opening and closing the in-game settings doesn't revert my changes to default values, which is why it looks strange. I do this because you can adjust the fade distances to go much farther than what you can normally. Let me give an example, since that explanation is very confusing. Grass FadeGrass fade in the in-game settings gives you a range, between fGrassMinStartFadeDistance and fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance, that it can change fGrassStartFadeDistance. So in effect, fGrassStartFadeDistance should be the only setting that affects how far grass goes. However, that is only the Start Fade Distance. Beyond that you have the fGrassFadeRange, which is the distance that grass fades away from the fGrassStartFadeDistance. It has almost a slight tapering effect, which is very nice on removing grass pop-in. By default, fGrassFadeRange is set to 1000. This is typically fine when you only go the original max distance of 7000. However, once you start raising fGrassStartFadeDistance beyond that, the grass doesn't typically load fast enough, and causes it to pop into view. Also, there is a bug where fGrassMinStartFadeDistance eats up fGrassStartFadeDistance if it is set to anything above 0, but this is beside the point. The fact is, I change all four values, fGrassMinStartFadeDistance, fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance, fGrassStartFadeDistance, and fGrassFadeRange to arrive at the actual grass fade distance. This is done mathematically based on the value the user chooses, and in the in-game settings, this naturally looks quite strange. However, what you need to see is that you can in this way increase grass fade distance much farther without having grass pop-in and the like. Now each of the Fades you mention tend to have their own peculiar quirks, so you cannot apply the above exactly to all of them, but this should help.
mpjbay Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 When is it best to run Bethini? After mods are installed, before? Before or after ENBoost/ENB's are installed, do we need to edit existing enb settings? Thank you.
DoubleYou Posted October 14, 2016 Author Posted October 14, 2016 It can be run at any time, although it is recommended to not do so mid-playthrough, as some settings can "stick." if you use it before installing mods/ENB, auto detection shall not work, but that isn't a big deal if you simply go through the GUI and make the changes manually.

Avastgard Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 How exactly does the Enderal support work? On the drop down menu to choose the game there is no Enderal option, so how does Bethini know that I want to setup Enderal besides the path to the .ini? I would like to know this because I have been experiencing low framerate and a lot of stuttering even with my GTX 1060. I assume there is something not configured right.
Pickysaurus Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Anyone else getting Windows Defender (in Windows 10) quarantining the .exe as a trojan?
