rhodsey Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Last post before bed Some other mods I've been keeping an eye on while waiting for an actively developed guide like this that I'm thinking of adding. I've not got very far yet so it might be these aren't needed and somethign else in this pack does the same job or are know to cause issues but would appreciate opinions on them: (also you can tell I maybe spend a bit too much time watching Gophers vids...) https://www.gophersvids.com/?gopher_mod=quicktrade - Just makes it quicker to get to trade menus without having to hear the same conversations each time. https://www.gophersvids.com/?gopher_mod=immersive-vendors - Just think thye look better than vanilla https://www.gophersvids.com/?gopher_mod=dont-call-me-settlersettler-renaming-and-naming - Seems like could add to settlements and make them more personal https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4772/? - Better settlers - As above would add more personality to settlements and says fairly low impact conflict wise https://www.gophersvids.com/?gopher_mod=dont-call-me-settlersettler-renaming-and-naming - ties in well with above https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10111/? - Dogmeats backpack - more room for junk is always welcome https://www.gophersvids.com/?gopher_mod=where-did-i-put-that - Labels to help remember where you put stuff https://www.gophersvids.com/?gopher_mod=singing-settler - seems like a nice touch. Not sure how well it's implemented though would need to test https://www.gophersvids.com/?gopher_mod=scrapper-highlights-only-when-weapon-is-drawn - saw this and thought it would be annoying to have a glow constantly so might be nice to toggle it I've also been looking at the below but it seems something you'd need to build a guide around instead of just add on https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17374/?
darthf1 Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 @rhodsey did you do all the ini tweaks and install the shadowboost? I have an i5, 24gb ram and a AMD R9 390 8gb vram, running 40~60 fps on 2560*1440.
Aeradom Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Quick Trade really is essential to me now. It really does need to be added ASAP. The last one though I haven't heard of will need to do more research on. Most of the rest I'm going to install even if it's not added to the list.
Gernash Posted September 18, 2016 Author Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) Yawn yep I'm awake.... @RhodseyBad fps? I use a gtx580 ot 960 equvilant I get 30-38 FPS RR is a 38FPS zone. If you stand still you get FPS drop or while moving?Try turning off WET and enableing vivid water Ahhhh I'll change the weather and lighting . Edited September 18, 2016 by Gernash
Gernash Posted September 18, 2016 Author Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) @Darthf1 You still haveArmorsmith Extended.espArmormsith All DLCs Patch.espCan you hover over them and tell me where they are from? disable Armormsith All DLCs Patch.esp and see if that works Edited September 18, 2016 by Gernash
Aeradom Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) @Rhodsey Might also want to try the 2K versions of the 4K texture mods. Even though I probably could run the 4K, I'm happy enough with the 2K myself. Edited September 18, 2016 by Aeradom
Gernash Posted September 18, 2016 Author Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) @AeradomAs I said before the textures will only impact load time (loading in the textures) not running around if you have ENB as the memory manager for vid(NOT running and exotic enb) they are "photos" essentially if he sits on 20 fps then it's a water/lighting issue (dynamic shadows) With and without ENB (without ENB SHIFT+12 default render engine) https://s10.postimg.org/ovan31a8p/enb.jpg Edited September 18, 2016 by Gernash
Aeradom Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) @Gernash It can have an impact if you end up filling up your GPU memory.Edit: To be clear, you are probably right in this case though. Edited September 18, 2016 by Aeradom
Gernash Posted September 18, 2016 Author Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) zzzzz He is 4k gaming on a 970 he is pushing Sh_t up hill best of times Even in vanilla I'd say 60fps would be a struggleWHAT HE NEEDS to do is run at a lower resolution and upscale to get anything that resembles FPS Running out of memory.....Sure...it can happen I do not cache to hdd only vram and 6gig of main memory I have NOT CDT EVER from "Running out of memory" because that is what will happend when you run out of it.4k render drawn will cause FPS stagger ONLY if you have alot of objects i.e. 2000 4K Trash Bins, fans whatever. not running around. Run Fallout4 Performance Monitor if you think you have a memory issue that will show you basicaly everything (cant run as an overlay with enb307 so FPS log does not work) Edited September 18, 2016 by Gernash
Aeradom Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 So what's the point of TOP then? It's the #1 method I hear of (and I believe from you as well) of getting an FPS boost. So how does it accomplish that? I've heard people even running pascal cards seeing an improvement.
Gernash Posted September 18, 2016 Author Posted September 18, 2016 I do not know what top or pascal cards are can you explain(or link) the 2 terms
Aeradom Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 I do not know what top or pascal cards are can you explain(or link) the 2 termsTOP is the Textures Optimization Project, i just get lazy and don't want to spell that out. Pascal is the architecture behind the new Nvidia GTX 10xx cards. Even the 1060 has 6 full gigs of VRAM but still manage to see some improvement (granted there's diminishing returns but it's still there). Eh, it's not important I suppose. Have you had a chance to look over the changes I made?
Gernash Posted September 18, 2016 Author Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) AHHHHH, TOP sigh I have Explained this to deathInstalling a Nvidia GTX 10xx cards increases your performance Shock horror they are 20-40% faster than the previous generation WTFYES 100% upgrade you video card you will go fasterYES 100% if you have TWICE the vram you will cache less to Main memory and will receive less StutterYES 100% if you make you game look like a POTATO it will run faster I Agree 100% With you statement then. Also the 10xx are optimized for 4k and VR Edited September 18, 2016 by Gernash
Gernash Posted September 18, 2016 Author Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) 4k Gaming I would not try unless I was running a dual 1080 setup if trying to achieve 60+FPS Stable in FO4. And even then, the, engine is bad and you will have to fiddle to get it up there."GOPHER" uses twin 980 and has FPS drop. It just sh_ts me no end, The whole I get low fps must be bad textures argument.....I can Guarantee that it's more like.ZOMG I wanna this pretty ENB/FX combo on my sh_tty laptop or $50 videocard and I watch the u-tube and my bestest reviewer guy uses it now IR Potato. Must be the textures....... Yep sure Edited September 18, 2016 by Gernash
