Seems I cant edit again :'(. Wanted to ask, since I haven't seen it in the guide, do you guys think using Open Cities with it is a big problem? I've always liked it but it might be very incompatible or problematic, I'm not sure.

Ok thanks for the replies guys, Regarding option 2,  how would I go about merging the entire mod? I am checking the video to see if I can understand, but any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: Pretty sure this just is via checking copy general assets in the Integrations tab  ::P:

 

Also, does the guide ever created a bashed patch? Have tried to find it but I dont see it anywhere, even if it recommends installing Wrye Bash (I get a bit mixed up with everthing that must be done).

No bashed patch required. Wrye Bash is used for other purposes (such as retargeting masters).

 

As for merging:

 

1) Make sure your mods are arranged in the left pane of MO according to the Integration guide.

 

2) Arrange all the .esps you are trying to merge according to instructions. Best practice is to arrange them on the very bottom of your load order.

 

3) Fire up Merge Plugins. Right click, unselect all, then select just the .esps you are trying to merge (use Shift+click to select multiple .esps). Hit Spacebar to activate them. Then right click on the selected .esps, and select "Activate Masters". The "OK" button should turn into color now (it was grey before). If still grey, scroll up the list of .esps and activate the red ones.

 

4) Select profile. Go to settings and make sure they follow the guide.

 

5) Follow remaining instructions for merge (name of merge plus name of plugin etc.). Go to Merges tab and right click on the new merge. Select "Check plugins for errors". Then "OK". Right click again, "Build merge". Wait until the cmd prompt window that pops up goes away. Hit "OK", then close Merge Plugins.

 

6) Refresh the left pane of MO (right click -> All Mods -> Refresh). At the bottom you will find a new mod that is your merge (named whatever you named it in Merge Plugins). Move it to the appropriate position according to Integration page.

 

Voila. Done.

Probably. Open Cities is an especially problematic mod to integrate and play well with other mods, since it makes such massive changes to the world.

Because I read it is important to sort the load order according to the finish line guide, but it might be countre productive doing this before every time I have to merge (since in the middle I would install new mods). Would it be possible to wait till the end, sort it once, build the different merges, sort again?

If you're using MO, you can do the merges whenever you fancy it, since you can just reorder mods till kingdom come.

 

Just make sure to match the Integration guide as much as possible. Otherwise funky things happen.

Any clue if Deadly Dragons and/or Skyrim Immersive Creatures are compatible with the guide, if correct patches are installed? For some reason I thought they would be included, but they don't seem to be

What are the odds of both of you making a downloadable profile of Mator Smash instead? In theory, this will eliminate the tedious updating of patches every single time mod authors update their work. Basically, we'd just update the mods ourselves, and then use Mator Smash to remake the patches for the new versions.

It's not that simple.  Even with Mator Smash you still have to manually inspect and correct the patch when it finishes.

If anyone is willing to help test the mods I am using the following steps: 

(Note: Screenshots and detailed descriptions will be needed to help resolve any problems encountered. It will also be useful to note your system specs.)

 

Testing Skyrim: Performance and Stability
 
Wait for all mods to load.
From the main menu open the console with ~ key and type in the commands.
 
First Test - Explore Interior and Exterior Cells
 
1. change timescale to 12
2. coc WhiterunOrigin
3. In Whiterun, stand around the markert for 1 in-game day (24 hrs in game) which will basically run through all non-combat events (many npc interactions, greets, some quest triggers, scene triggers, time of day specific events,  loading/unloading alot of actors, etc...)
4. Enter the following interior cells:
The Bannered Mare
Jorvaskr
Dragonsreach
5. Explore Exterior and Interior Cells
coc DragonBridgeExterior01

coc KarthwastenExterior01
coc RoriksteadExterior01

Second Test - Gather Equipment and explore the worldspace:

2. tgm (High speed running will cause your death due to fall dmg!)
3. player.setav speedmult 500 (increase move speed to 500 units, trigger by running once) 
4. coc Riverwood: Using only the main roads as far as possible run 3 laps around Riverwood -> Markarth -> Solitude -> Dawnstar -> Winterhold -> Windhelm -> Riften - > Riverwood, travelling the same way in each lap. 
 
Second Test - Spawn Enemies:

Dragon battles are heavily scripted and can be complex depending on the mods used. This will make certain you will be able to handle three dragons in a stressfull environment. As solitude is full of NPCs and dragons will be more active.

Guys, I have a really silly issue. I swiped an onyx worth 10 gold and now gods hate me, but guards don't think I'm worthy of their time (neither did the vendor whom I swiped the onyx from in front of his face, forgot to activate that Blocksteal mod in MCM). Speak about standards and pettiness, eh?

 

I think it would have to do with Crime Overhaul but their Nexus forums seem dead. So basically the problem is, I got 20 bounty in Whiterun, but no guard approaches me about it. I went and tried to steal some junk in front of a guard but he approached me and told me to be someone else's problem (too low bounty). The problem is this bounty makes it impossible for me to use any shrine and I think I need to grope them all for some museum Display so I'm playing a pilgrim before turning a near thiefy leaf.

 

Am I doing something wrong? Anything I could do short of removing the bounty by console/purposefully getting a much higher one so that I can pay them off?

 

It's weird, but this time my install seems more stable than the last even though it's definitely more... bastardized, let's say. I haven't crashed once and I've been to Whiterun/Dragonsreach. Hm.

IIRC, there's a perk in Requiem under the Restoration tree (called "Painful Regrets"). It should allow you to use the shrines again, BUT with a caveat: Be a jerk again and that's it.

 

EDIT: Oh yeah, it also affects your selling prices, and learning speed. So...., make of it what you will.

No I don't want that perk, I will have no puny deity punish me for taking shiny once I decide it's time to take the shiny. I just want to pay off my 20 gold bounty and use the shrines once. The problem is there is no dialogue with guards :( The bounty is too small for them or something.

 

If the shrines become inactive for the entirety of the game for 20 gold bounty then that's a whole different issue I'd say. Not very immersive, is it? Be hated by gods forever for stealing a cabbage or two when you're starving or some such with no sensible way to repair it (the perk incurs big penalties and makes sense in the case of big crimes).

Well, you could try punching the guards. THAT will definitely make them pay attention.

You will probably painfully regret taking painful regrets. If it was accidental just use the console the remove the bounty. Did you test the shrine displays? I would expect problems with the shrine handler script recognising th BtC blessings.
