Your tutorials are always so informative so I'll be keeping my eye out for those, the depth you go into is definitely valuable beyond measure. After reading some of the posts from the Nexus site and LL, I have to say I'm in 100% agreement with you, the amount of people feeling the need to voice their opinions on Tannin's moral choices alone was just disgusting, I'm glad this community and more specifically this topic, has remained above all else, civil and adult in it's dealings and responses to Tannin. Now here's a good point. While I tried MO because I wanted the VFS I always felt a little dumb when it came to working everything out, so I stuck with NMM for my modding, since I had become so used to how it worked and was confident in my abilities within the program but I am definitely open to trying the new manager out, even if it means learning all over again, at least this time I'll be learning along with everyone else and not feel like the class idiot. Keep me and I'm sure many others in mind if you need testers for any build release of it as well. Oh and above all else, Congratulations Tannin, with your talent I have every confidence that the new manager will far surpass the current one(s) offered.

Putting together a rig for modding, need advice
Rebel47 replied to phosphor's topic in Step Banter Inn
Rated higher than my cpu and I can run Fallout on max settings. I have a i5 4670k at stock it runs 3.40Ghz, I have it oc'd to 4.0Ghz without needing to increase the voltage. -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - pre 2.xx
Rebel47 replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
I've managed to install Dyndolod and it looks fantastic but I have one question, after installing DynDOLOD I decided I wanted to install 3 more mods (they are all follower mods) will I need to rerun DynDOLOD again for this just in case or should it be fine to just let it slide, I ask because I know some follower mods (Inigo is one) are included in the DynDOLOD patch. -
New Rig, Windows 10 Enb Vram Question
Rebel47 replied to TehKaoZ's question in Post-Processing Support
You shouldn't need to dual boot at all, I run 2k landscape textures, 4k body and 8k skins with DynDOLOD at high with a 3GB card on Windows 10 and I don't hit my 4064 limit, I do drop to 30 fps sometimes though, I don't think the limit is actually a problem unless you plan on running 8k eveyrthing. -
Modding advice based on my spec for a stable and fun experience?
Rebel47 replied to Final_Fusion's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I see you run ELFX, I started running it again just recently what with the new update and I have to say when I wasn't using it I never had this problem but the second I start using it again I get this lighting issue, it seems to be related to having way too many light sources in a single area as per how ELFX runs, and I haven't been able to find a way to fix it short of editing the plugin to remove some of the lights- 13 replies

CTD entering Helgen Keep .. ENB only installed
Rebel47 replied to DocHammoc's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
Using an ENB during the helgen intro is an awkward question to answer as for some it works fine but for others it crashes like a pig, the general idea of it though is that while ENB and SKSE are designed to increase performance the intro is scripted in such a way that anything that hooks into the game can and sometimes will cause issues. Try what sm0kem said and run it without ENB or you could just install Live Another Life by Arthmoor and test to see if the ENB works in a proper game and not a scripted slideshow like the Helgen intro -
Enboost causes heavy lag and stuttering
Rebel47 replied to vickyticky's question in Post-Processing Support
Ah so enabling them on a stable game is actually counterintuitive, good to know, I have data sync mode set to 1, perhaps that is why I'm getting small amounts of stutter during gameplay, I'll try this out, thanks for the response -
Enboost causes heavy lag and stuttering
Rebel47 replied to vickyticky's question in Post-Processing Support
Hey W. Do you by any chance know what those settings are based on or what type of effect that they are supposed to have on the game, I'm guessing that turning on Data Sync (Data Synchronization) is not good for skyrim performance but I'm not sure on those settings so I don't honestly which one's to choose myself either. Clarification: I am referring to these settings -
FPS drop near Breezehome / Drunken Huntsman
Rebel47 replied to Hackfield's question in General Skyrim LE Support
These fps drops your experiencing are they every time or only during rain and/or other adverse weather conditions, also your mod list does not tell us what texture replacers you have installed so there could be a problem there somewhere also. -
ENB Boost CTD right after Bathesda screen
Rebel47 replied to Pockets69's question in Post-Processing Support
I must have skipped that fact, but it doesn't detract from the fact that those ini's are messed up in ways that is definitely not going to help the game run smoothly even if it was vanilla. Talk about trying to punch above your weight though lol -
ENB Boost CTD right after Bathesda screen
Rebel47 replied to Pockets69's question in Post-Processing Support
Well your Skyrim.ini looks a bit odd, you haven't ran spINI that I can tell and you have some lines where they simply shouldn't be Skyrim.ini Skyrimprefs.ini -
Creature framework not recognized
Rebel47 replied to sharonasbar's question in Mod Organizer Support
I'll provide an answer but in all honesty questions like this should probably be asked at the official mod thread found here Make sure you've installed the Creature pack from FNIS (it's on the download page) Then you'll need to rerun FNIS after install of all files and try again, if that fails ask the devs for more help (found by clicking link above) , they know the mod better than anyone here would be likely to -
ACCEPTED Unofficial High Resolution Patch (by Unofficial Patch Project Team)
Rebel47 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Concering the official HRDLC obtainable only from Steam: My understanding of it from testing myself and from reading other peoples issues and solutions to this is as follows. When using the HRDLC by itself it seems fine ( as long as your using an "optimized" version of it, much like this particular mod ) Using it without running an optimized version is when the problems begin, I've read in many places that using the unoptimized version causes memory spikes among many other issues Some reports were that using this with mods which ultimately override the HRDLC files causes bigger issues because even though all the assets from this file are no longer used they are still being rendered/called upon and this is what causes most if not all of the stutter and fps reductions Other reports are that users of Skyrim HD 2K are being told to use the HRDLC alongside the mod and this causes huge problems for many users for which the solution was to disable the HRDLC completely. -
ACCEPTED Unofficial High Resolution Patch (by Unofficial Patch Project Team)
Rebel47 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Eyes are fine thanks, but as we are different people we have differing opinions on what looks good and what doesn't, and this is one such result of that different thinking. There was no argument (unless your trying to make one that is) I simply stated what has been a result for me in the past (not with my current Graphics Card) and what has been widely reported by users of many mod sites including both Loverslab and the Nexus. So despite the fact that everything that gets visually rendered in a DX9 game being mirrored into System Ram your saying that none of it affects Ram usage at all, I find this hard to believe. HRDLC is unoptimized in the sense that using it alongside mods which change visual aspects of the game will result in ridiculously poor performance, removing it and running with just the mods seems to solve the issues and look much better. Again all the above is not only my personal opinion on this but is also been tried, tested and verified by many other users of varying degrees of skill with regards to installing mods. -
Legacy of the Dragonborn and Open Cities crash
Rebel47 replied to kittytessapuppy's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Any possible issues that could be caused by any combination of legacy of the dragonborn and other mods should probably be addressed to Ice and Deano over on the mods page, they are fairly quick to respond and very helpful, just make sure you have all the info to hand they might need -
ACCEPTED Unofficial High Resolution Patch (by Unofficial Patch Project Team)
Rebel47 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
You'll be pleased to know that I am one such person that does not and will never use the High Res DLC, They don't look any better than the base game if you ask me, your opinions may differ but I find the HD DLC to be unoptimized and rather ugly looking and it increases ram & vram usage tenfold when installed, so No, not everyone plays this game with them installed And yes before you ask I have tried using the optimized versions and they are honestly no better. -
I was going to ask for more specific details but if your in the US it seems kind of silly for me to waste your time by doing such a thing, as the postage would be astronomically high. Still that being said some pics and/or details about the hardware would be welcome.

Microstuttering in 3rd person running/horseback riding on good rig
Rebel47 replied to scorpgul's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Running any DX9 application or game on windows 8, 8.1 or 10 will only use a maximum of 4064 (Thank MS for that one) As for the CPU hissing, do you in fact mean a high pitched whining noise, kind of like a kettle whistling but softer ? The problem you are referring to is not hardware related in my experience but I and many other people have actually attributed this to the Hi Res DLC which causes so many problems in game (there are just personal experiences that others have seemingly shared) Also for those who use XFire/SLI - Skyrim does not work very well with this feature enabled even if your drivers have adapted for it -
Not sure I would use the term "believe" for anything I know that anything is possible and the possibilities are endless, I myself have experienced what others could only attribute to encounters with ghosts. Laughing at someone because of their beliefs is what I would call an atrocity and given enough time around people with different beliefs than you (be that aliens, ghosts or even religion) you shall learn to have an open mind and be more accepting of others. That's my thinking anyway.

I'm always exicted about Hitman games, it's possibly one of my favorite franchises but in saying that I'm also a little concerned with how their attempting to carry off this new release deal they've got planned, I think the game itself looks brilliant and the gameplay will no doubt shine through as superb as always ( I actually liked Absolution) but the fact that they are releasing a half finished game and then adding on the extra's to make it a full game later on kinda feels like they took developer advice from Bethesda on this one.

This seemed to have derailed fast eh, is this what passes for banter in this place

That's good to know, I tried Wrye Bash before and gave up because the UI and instructions for it were simply obsolete and more confusing than reading latin through 3d glassess, I did get a couple of minutes to look around in Mator Smash and it already looks much more user friendly to me, I just need time to familiarize myself with everything, since I'm new to bash tags I'll probably end up either bugging the mod authors for bash tags on their mods or running the xEdit script for bash tags and go from there, unless there is a better way that I am not yet aware of. Thanks for the input Grant, Kelmych and Kesta every bit of it is highly appreciated

My initial post may have been misleading, allow me to correct that. I am no longer using the heavily conflicting load order, that was primarily a testing phase for breaking mods or to see if any mods would break or corrupt under extreme duress, none did so that's successful in my eyes. Now I have a load order that aside from many mods adding their own leveled lists there is no confliction between mods, so my question remains, which would be better at handling the things I've outlined. I know Mator showcased a video of adding in every single mod into a automatic smashed patch and basically it pretty much worked right out of the box all bar a few things at least, what I'm wondering is, with a few hours spent tweaking that on the load order I'm going to use would that be better in terms of gameplay than running a bashed patch. I would welcome opinions from anyone who has used either and/or both programs even the authors of said programs are free to weigh in on this discussion if they so choose, the more opinions gathered the more informed my choice can be.

For a while now I've been running a mod list which I know contains errors/unmerged leveled lists and the like but that has always been fine because my setup was specifically done to test for problems with highly incompatible mods, now I'm looking to enjoy at least 1 playthrough without problems. Between Wrye Bash and Mator Smash, which would be more recommended for a user like me who's never touched bash tags and has no idea what they are or how they are used, I've used Mator's programs in the past and his UI is always fairly intuitive but my only limitation right now is my knowledge (or lack thereof) of the features and what they do. With all the above information in mind, which program would you recommend I use and how best to use it, I appreciate any and all input.

If your downloading at certain times, like evening after work then your likely being throttled by your isp, here is an exerpt from CenturyLink Other than that it could be a windows based issue as others have mentioned, have you tested for packet loss to see if any is being lost ? Also you should consider that given your running on a copper cable (I assume it's a similar thing to the UK) then your speeds will likely fluctuate a bit, but as to why they have started now and not before, beyond me, unless that is Century Link have decided to change how they operate as a company (a lot of isp's are doing this now) and they are changing the packages, I couldn't find a package that lists your given speeds, the lowest was 20mbps at $34.95 a month, this is my best guess right now though, I may be able to provide more information later though Afterthought: Did you or the company update your router recently ? If so that could be the issue as certain companies (My isp included) like to upgrade the router/modem silently (scoundrels) and in doing so they end up activating things that are detrimental to your daily routine. Hopefully this was of some help to you
