  1. Yeah, I just ignored that... EDIT: Also, if you know what you're doing you could skip archiving and just drop those files into a "Mod Organizer/mods/DynDOLOD Output" folder you already created. The error checking provided by MO when installing is nice, however.
  2. I'm a newb, but I'm making with the RTFM, i.e.: reading the TES5Edit wiki page and also following Sharlikran's Conflict Resolution video that @Neovalen recommends in his SRLE conflict resolution guide. If I'm reading this correctly, it's a conflict between Provincial Courier Service and Immersive Citizens. I see there's a section in the wiki about Changing Mod Form IDs. Am I on the right track? [spoiler=Screenshots beneath the fold:] Now that it's been verified that this is not a DynDOLOD problem, perhaps I should move this discussion to an SRLE thread? Mods or @sheson, feel free to chime in.
  3. I'm either missing something in the DynDOLOD steps, in the installation steps for the added mods or there's an unaddressed conflict that DynDOLOD World is catching. That time consuming part is figuring out which of those three is the case. EDIT: In my case, it was an unaddressed conflict. I'm glad I pursued it instead of giving up.
  4. That's a good dumb question. I don't remember the answer, but I'll just go ahead and completely repeat the process one more time after also following the Update section of Gamerpoets video from the STEP DynDOLOD wiki. EDIT: Corrected the proper section of the video to watch if you want to re-run clean. EDIT 2: I cleared the cache and followed all other steps for re-running DynDOLOD. I got the same error upon retrying.
  5. I'm investigating a problem I'm experiencing while running DynDOLOD Worlds per the instructions included with SRLE. I've installed STEP: Extended 2.2.9.1 with a few select mods from SRLE. DynDOLOD worked great at the end of the STEP install. When I run DynDOLOD fresh again with the new additions from SRLE, I get an error related to Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul, which I've merged per the instructions in SRLE. I tried searching Google for this error and came out empty-handed. I admit that I have not stepped through the Skyrim Revisited: Legendary Edition Conflict Resolution Subguide yet, but I have searched it for the cell values referenced in the error. I've provided my load order and screenshots for more context. [spoiler=Load Order]# This file was automatically generated by Mod Organizer. 6. I've gotten DynDOLOD working and finished STEP installation. Thanks for the concise wiki instructions. After also adding my own selection of mods on top of STEP, I'm getting errors upon re-running DynDOLOD. To be clear, I'm not asking for help to sort out those errors here. Sheson himself describes this as a mod targeted at advanced Skyrim mod users. I'm not one. Can I simply not update DynDOLOD after STEP? Is it game breaking to not update or does it just look bad?
  7. You're right. Any of the zip, rar or 7z formats will work with MO. Perhaps the language should be changed to not specify 7z in particular.
  8. For this mod's wiki instructions where 7zip is first mentioned, I suggest linking to the 7zip download site. Some users won't already know what that is and I don't want to judge them for it. EDIT: TechAngel85 pointed out that any of the zip, rar or 7zip formats will work for creating a compatible package.
  9. What does STEP lose by including this version over XP32? To me, it seems like a better base upon which to add STEP Packs.
  10. In the the STEP guide's wiki for this mod as quoted above, it isn't specified in which of the seven Book of Silence mods to find textures > actors > dlc02 > ash. By process of elimination, it must have been intended to say Book of Silence - Dragonborn.
  11. Related, I resorted to this same test and was getting CTDs along the same patrol route. To be specific, my command combo was: player.setav speedmult 1500 tcl I discovered the following errors in my Papyrus logs repeated dozens of times: [spoiler=Papyrus errors][10/02/2015 - 01:21:09PM] Error: (FF000E17): has no 3d, and so cannot have its motion type changed. stack: [ (FF000E17)].critterMoth.SetMotionType() - "" Line ? [ (FF000FA1)].critterdragonfly.OnStart() - "CritterDragonFly.psc" Line 55 [ (FF000FA1)].critterdragonfly.OnUpdate() - "Critter.psc" Line 345 After noticing those, I decided to disable the mod during my testing. The CTDs continued. Sorry that I can't provide more helpful information.
  12. That's definitely true if you're trying to squeeze every bit of available performance out. My goal is to update from an ancient 2007 build and get the best performance/price ratio available on the market while I do it, so my choices may appear modest by comparison.
  13. Don't forget to check not only the INI settings, but also any overrides set for Skyrim in your GPU configuration utility. Make sure those match the above recommendations also.
  14. I just went through an upgrade cycle for a custom rig I built in 2007. Here's what I did: Asus Z97-AGreat feature set for gaming and a respected manufacturer. My favorite feature is the one click overclocking & 5 way optimization.Intel Core i5-4690KThis is the best performance/dollar trade-off in processors at the moment according to Tom's Hardware. You'll want to take advantage of overclocking.G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1866Top rated RAM as benchmarked by Tom's Hardware. You can always add two more later.I only spent $440 on these three including shipping and tax, so you have a lot of expansion and upgrade potential within your budget. EDIT: A friend just convinced me that I could do better on performance/price ratio for the memory sticks, so I upgraded to G.SKILL TridentX Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 2400.
  15. We all appreciate your efforts, @phazer11
  16. It also helps time efficiency.
  17. Is that right? Regarding quest prerequisites, the mod page on Nexus has this to say: Am I misinterpreting the above? I've never used the mod. Regarding PerMa, I read on the Interesting NPCs compatibility thread that it and other overhauls are a problem. Now that you mention it, the original post hasn't been updated since March 2015. That's probably before PCaPP caught up.
  18. Thanks for that. I'll just patch those then. Tangentially, Interesting NPCs looks like a mod I would want, but the vanilla quest completion prerequisites put me off as well as the compatibility issues with PerMa.
  19. Perhaps install all the latest but make a backup of either the MO folder, the data folder or your hard drive. Whichever is easiest
  20. If I install only the mods collected in 4.1 World Improvements, will I both need and be able to use 4.3 REGS Custom Patches? I read the initial post, final page and searched this thread. No obvious answer.
  21. I was totally fooled by that and immediately considered switching back to NMM, having only just started a fresh install based on MO. Glad to know I made the right choice. If Profile Sharing can work well, that's a killer feature. My concern is whether it can share not just your data/ folder or mod list, but also the ini files in documents as well as changes within the skyrim install directory. Sounds like a beast to tackle, yet a fantastic feature to have.
  22. Here's the link to the reported issue in Bug Genie, the Mod Organizer bug tracker.
  23. You're correct. I posted to the wrong mod thread. Sorry for the confusion. EDIT: For others, I was intending to post my concern to Tobe's Hi-Res Textures, but my question was also confused in that the ticks for the textures I had in mind are made in SMIM rather than Tobe's. The reason for hiding the textures in Tobe's is to allow those in SMIM to remain. In other words, always drink coffee before posting in the morning, kids.
  24. Why does STEP recommend to tick so many of the texture options during the installation process just to later recommend to hide them?
  25. True. Somebody there must know. Edit: @dreadflopp You were right. It's mentioned in the sticky right at the top of the MLU Posts tab on the nexus page, including all the other compatibility patches and the location for all of them.
