Combat Mods - General
Neovalen replied to Besidilo's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
This is a subject I've been dying to try out all the various mods, just not enough time in the day... lol. Up until now I've pretty much exclusively used Duel - Combat Realism but many of the others seem nice also. -
Yeah I was reading that, looks like the mod author is trying to rectify that a little by removing a few sources of light in less conspicuous places.
-
I'm really interesting in maybe testing some of the other "light sources give off light" style mods such as: Lighting Placement Fix - This one appears to be fairly large and consistently updated. Whiterun Gate Light Fix - Just fixes one very obvious light problem just outside whiterun. (may be included in the above haven't checked) Volrath Dragonrach Brazier fix - This fixes the braziers in dragonsreach. (included in the lighting placement fix already) I haven't extensively tested the Lighting Placement fix but posting it here as a possible replacement for MDS.

Holy speculation Batman!
Neovalen replied to Farlo's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Sounds very similar to cut content in Dragon Age: Origins... over time modders really dug all that stuff up including full voice acting for much of it. -
Wearable lanterns 2.2 released. ;) Looks like an awesome update. As a side note, the description states "Using Script Dragon with Wearable Lanterns is NOT SUPPORTED and can result in broken behavior from the outset or many hours into your playthrough, with no way to resolve the problem. You have been warned." Now I know in several places on the wiki we have listed script dragon as part of install procedure so curious as to what the incompatibility is and why it is... I've not heard of other mods incompatible before.

I'm personally shocked there hasn't been more work done on quests from modders, there are a few of note but much less than I would have imagined. I imagine it's mostly the lack of voice actors. -
Cestral, I know you've got a fairly large mod list already but one area I find that has a lot of variation and could use "combining" are Ice mods. That's Ice RIS - Real Ice and Snow Real Ice - All in One I can't really say I prefer one over the other mainly because they all have good points and bad points. In reality snow/ice is a mix of all these put together. Edit: After looking at it though, it appears most ice is only based off 2 or 3 files... Bethesda really should have made more variety.

It's hidden.

Heck yeah! Love this mod and I will never play without it.

ACCEPTED Enhanced Skyrim Factions - Companions Guild (by DreamKing)
Neovalen replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
See Above. :) -
There are TWO ways to complete the quest... Only one of them results in a new tree.

Discussion thread: Enhanced Skyrim Factions - The Companions Guild by DreamKing Wiki Link Skyrim's Companions guild questline suffers from being too short and too linear; it is possible for a low-level character, and/or one with minimal combat skills, to quickly accend to the highest ranks of this famed guild of warriors. Moreover the questline railroads the player, denying them the opportunity to make several key choices. ESF: Companions is a project that aims to improve this situation in several ways. This first release of the mod adds skill, level, and time requirements for each of the Companions guild's milestone story quests. Specifically, this mod adds the following prerequisites, all of which must be met, to those milestone quests: Before Your Trial in "Proving Honor" (Quest C01) - One defensive combat skill--Light or Heavy Armor, or Block--at least 30 - One weapon skill--One-Handed/Two-Handed/Archery--at least 30 - Player level at least 10 - At least 10 radiant quests done since joining (including one for each member of the Circle) - At least 14 days passed since joining the Companions Before Being Invited to Join the Circle in "The Silver Hand" (Quest C03) - One defensive combat skill--Light or Heavy Armor, or Block--at least 50 - One weapon skill--One-Handed/Two-Handed/Archery--at least 50 - Player level at least 20 - At least 20 radiant quests done since "Proving Honor" (including one for each member of the Circle) - At least 28 days passed since completing "Proving Honor" Before Kodlak's Request in "Blood's Honor" (Quest C04) - One defensive combat skill--Light or Heavy Armor, or Block--at least 55 - One weapon skill--One-Handed/Two-Handed/Archery--at least 70 - Player level at least 25 - At least 10 radiant quests done since "The Silver Hand" - At least 14 days passed since completing "The Silver Hand" These requirements can be customized through console commands; see the readme file for details. In progress and not yet part of the mod are several other enhancements to the Companions: new choices and consequences to the milestone quests; new radiant and story quests, both during and after the vanilla questline; and miscellaneous other improvements. ------------------------------------ Found this gem of a mod the other day, makes being a Companion feel more earned. :)

Brilliant, gonna definitely check this out when I can.

Since you guys talked about the companions questline, figured I'd point this one out to you: Enhanced Skyrim Factions - The Companions Guild

If your using skyrim unplugged make sure you have downloads enabled... other than that sounds very wierd. Perhaps try uninstall from steam then re-install if all else fails.

I haven't tried it yet myself (waiting for the new TPC to integrate all these) but SMIMs problem seems to be only related to the "update" version. People have reported success with the "full" download of 1.26

SKYRIMLE Requiem - The Roleplaying Overhaul (by Xarrian and Ogerboss)
Neovalen replied to frihyland's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I also love Alternate Start by Arthmoor as we're talking about things that change how the game is played (or at least started). -
Glad to see you back in the game Cestral ;) Combining then optimizing now!

Showing as file hidden right now, but I agree with you TC. More Dynamic Shadows causes me all kinds of grief in certain scenes... might be worth revisiting once it's been fully updated for realistic lighting 4 but its kind of a mess right now. I use ENB to smooth out my shadows, so haven't had need of an actual fix... so sorry I can't help you there. However, there are several other mods out there that modify lighting to fix bugs like this.

ACCEPTED Skyrim Realistic Overhaul (by Starac)
Neovalen replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Not sure on that Starac, but I found another one I haven't found covered by SRO or any other in the TPC/STEP... This image taken in Embershard Iron Mine right outside Riverwood in the large cavern at the end.- 425 replies

Well, assuming nothing goes horribly wrong with DDSOpting the TPC you could add it to the install instructions as an optional (recommended) final step... just throwing it out there. Assuming the DDSOpt wiki gets updated you can just link people there. Actually in the process of DDSOpting them now.

What?! Crap, does that mean we're going to lose his/her Butterfly mod too?
