  1. If by anthology, you mean the forum designation, then...kinda. I think the forum anthology category also includes mods that were dropped. Basically, STEP Extended is every single mod in the STEP Guide. STEP Core is every mod in the guide with a vertical green bar on the left side. See here for the legend. Yeah, the different packs add on to STEP Core. Some are up-to-date, others not so much. STEP Extended is the "pack" that the STEP team puts out itself, so it is always up-to-date. As it is released by the STEP Team, and is part of the main guide, most people don't really think of it as a pack, so it is kind of an academic distinction. I think most STEP users tend to use STEP Extended, as well, so that's another reason many don't think of it like that. Here is a list of STEP Packs (besides the normal STEP Extended): https://wiki.step-project.com/Category:Packs The General Troubleshooting forum is always a good spot if you are not 100% sure where to post a troubleshooting question.
  2. :-) Thank you, Grant. This explanation for new users has been needed for a very long time. Very good PSA.
  3. Hi VirtuousParagon, welcome to STEP. I think you will find the STEP Mandate wiki page relevant. STEP Core is meant to be a solid base that you can add pretty much anything to. STEP Extended is STEP's main pack, meant to round out the experience. The STEP Patches (included in the STEP Compilation) require certain mods. As the patches resolve a lot of conflicts, I would suggest including all the mods required. The list can be found in the OP here. Personally, I run the full STEP Extended mod list (and then some in testing). As to why there are older mods included...the reason is stability. It isn't easy for a mod to be included in STEP, and when it is, it is guaranteed to be stable with the rest of the STEP lineup. Mods are tested to replace older mods when there is a reason, or if the opinion is that the newer mod is better. Case in point: STEP is currently testing XPMSE to replace XP32 Maximum Skeleton. However, if there isn't a logical benefit to replacing an older mod, why do it? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. ;-) Edit: I forgot to touch on your question regarding the Conflicting Graphics section. STEP only uses part of those mods. They are not necessarily in alphabetical order, and are arranged so that they will be overwritten by whatever STEP does use. As long as you install the mods in order, from the top to the bottom, you will be fine. For STEP Core, it is expected that the user will install all Core mods, in the order presented. For STEP Extended, it is expected that the user will install all the listed mods, in the order presented.
  4. Agreed, Tech. A lot of the clothing has now been covered, and I think the new textures look pretty good.
  5. Have you tried deleting and re-downloading Wrye Bash? Maybe Wrye Bash itself is corrupted.
  6. Hi Core, To what part are you referring when you say it should be added to the guide? Answer 1 or 2? Or both? All the info is in the guide...that is what I linked to. However, if there is a better way to phrase it for people not familiar with STEP or modding, please let us know.
  7. Personally, I like the consistency of using the same icon for all mines, and a different icon for blacksmith shops. To be honest, if I ever want to use a smelter, I just fast travel to Whiterun. I think I have only ever used a smelter in another location a handful of times.
  8. Anywhere, really. I put it in alphabetical order in the Clothing and Equipment category.
  9. I think an ENB you downloaded (SweetFX?) had dxgi.dll and dxgi.fx files, which are not for DX9 (which Skyrim is based on). Rename these two files to dxgi.dll.bak and dxgi.fx.bak. Or just delete them.
  10. Hi KHW, welcome to STEP. If it is not giving you an option to save, I doubt it is doing anything. I assume you are running xEdit through MO. Are there any possible UAC issues? For example, is Skyrim installed to Program Files? What about MO? Neither should be. I found the other thread you mentioned here, and the OP mentioned it somehow fixed itself when he updated MO. Are you using an old version?
  11. It is a bug with VRAM, as far as I know. Boris made a posting on the Nvidia forum about it, before Microsoft admitted they were at fault. Maybe it's been fixed in Windows 10...? That would be amazing, if so.
  12. They are all still there. If you downloaded with manager, you can find them in the downloads tab of MO's right pane. In Windows File Explorer, you can find them in the downloads folder wherever you installed Mod Organizer.
  13. Oh Baldur's Gate II...I remember very fondly the community for the Darkest Day. Modding before it was called modding. I loved those folks. Anyway, back to reality: I looked up the differences in the Enhanced Edition and the regular edition for BGII a while back, and I found that the Baldurdash fixes were included. That's about as far as I got in my research, though. I did buy both extended editions on Steam, for nostalgia alone. No actual idea about your questions, sorry. I was just taking a trip down memory lane...
  14. If Memory Blocks Log keeps confirming it is at 256, when you are pretty confident you have it set higher and there are no duplicate skse.ini files, you probably need the forcesteamloader argument.
  15. Gamwich has just updated the mod with the female textures as well. :-)
  16. Did you run FNIS in MO to get generator output? See the OP here: https://forum.step-project.com/topic/8524-q-a-using-fnis-with-mod-organizer/
  17. Congrats on the new equipment! Try increasing the reserved memory size in enblocal.ini. That may do it. You'll want to keep it as low as possible without experiencing stuttering when turning 360-degrees.
  18. I think you are mistaking turning the mod on/off in the left pane with uninstalling / re-installing. To re-install a mod, locate it in the downloads tab of the right pane (assuming you downloaded with manager), and double-click to re-install. The FOMOD installer should pop up again. Choose "replace" at the end. If you didn't download with manager, same thing but click the "Install from archive" button instead of searching for it in the downloads tab.
  19. The billboards are contained in the STEP Compilation.
  20. This was recently changed due to the requirement for the new version of DynDOLOD to use the pre-release version of xEdit. They are both actually the same program, despite the name difference. See the note in the TES5Edit wiki page: https://wiki.step-project.com/TES5Edit#Recommendations
  21. Yeah, February has been a bad month for the UPP team. Bad luck, more than anything, I think. It looks like the regressions have all been sorted out now, though. v3.0.2b was just released, changelog here.
  22. Yes. To find the Nexus page, you can right-click in MO and there should be an option to visit the Nexus page of the mod.
  23. C'mon guys. Let's keep this on-topic. See EssArrBee's post above.
