Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - pre 2.xx
GrantSP replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
I'm trying to get xEdit to recognise two switches so I can have the executable remain as xEdit and still call DynDoLOD. Using this doesn't seem to work. Is it possible to add two switches to the commandline/MO arguments field like this: -tes5, -o:"C:\TES5LODGenOutput" -
Wiki needs a bit of loving. It would be really nice to have it all using the nice fomod template.

ACCEPTED Skyrim -Community- Uncapper (by Elys)
GrantSP replied to skwareballz's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
It's been asked before but having a guide where a complete INI is fleshed out to fulfill a certain playstyle would go a long way to making this mod more than it is currently. If anyone could post there INI we can add them into the wiki. -
DROPPED Immersive Skyrim Thunder V6 (by Wordeee)
GrantSP replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Wiki page has an image link, and its description, that needs updating. -
Hmm... seems like there was a fair bit of discussion about this mod and Gold Coin Replacer but nothing definitive appears to be resolved. For what it's worth I like GCR over this mod but if this does stay in step then the wiki could use a bit of clarification about what needs to kept in the install. There's versions with mipmaps and without and there really doesn't need to be all of it installed. From the readme in the archive:

I just realised what I did. Oops!

FOSE and ENBoost Not Playing Well Together
GrantSP replied to MalekBrood's topic in Fallout 3 - Clear & Present Danger
Hmm... so you have the wrapper version of v0278 which means just these files copied into the FO3 folder: enblocal.inid3d9.dllenbseries.inienbhost.exe And you also have FOSE installed which entails these files alos in the root folder:fose_1_7.dllfose_editor_1_5.dllfose_loader.exe After each run FOSE creates a log in the root folder, fose.log, can you post the contents of the last attempt to run. Delete the existing one first to supply just the current try. Can you also post the MO logs. Delete all the previous ones first. -
FOSE and ENBoost Not Playing Well Together
GrantSP replied to MalekBrood's topic in Fallout 3 - Clear & Present Danger
There are a couple minor differences between your ENBSeries.ini and mine. Considering the INI I have is the default one with the ENB v0278 for FO3/FNV, I have to ask which version of ENB are you running and where did you get the INI? Also I have added spoiler tags to your text. Please acquaint yourself with STEP Citizenship Guidelines that can be seen at the bottom of every page. Makes it easier to navigate pages without having to scroll everywhere. Having said that, I think you may be having other mod issues. Have you tried to run just the vanilla FO3 with this ENB? -
It's really eerie here at the moment. Very still with no wind at all but there are no birds singing and, with all the particulates in the air, rain is trying to fall but the temperature is so hot it doesn't actually hit the ground. A most strange experience. The wife has gone off to work and me and the cat are left here sort of bewildered by it all. Beautiful, but odd.

FOSE and ENBoost Not Playing Well Together
GrantSP replied to MalekBrood's topic in Fallout 3 - Clear & Present Danger
I have just built a new Win10 system and I am in the middle of restoring all my games to it and I can say I have no issue with Fallout 3 using both FOSE and ENBoost. What version of ENB are you using and what settings do you have in the INIs? The Clear and Present guide has a section on ENBs and the correct settings. -
Yes. The specific "Apply Filter to show Conflict Losers" does just that. It will search the entire plugin list and then show ONLY those plugins that are losing a conflict. Selecting the generic "Apply filter" will present you with the dialogue where you choose which criteria to filter and using the default settings will show you all the conflict losers AND any other plugin that has a record that is used by another plugin, whether or not it is winning or losing.

Oh god, don't mention plants. I saw The Day of the Triffids when I was way too... Actually I would love to see that part of the world, from what I've seen it is breath-taking.

Constant Freezing... Is this normal?
GrantSP replied to MetalPhilosopher's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
I've made note of this and changed the instructions to match those most users will need, ie. the ones you have now. (Curiously the default settings in the guide are not those from the readme and I also changed the text to reflect that.) -
Yeah we get it all. Droughts are throughout most of Queensland and here in Tasmania. Farms having to shutdown with the flow-on effect that the townships then suffer from lost income. Then massive floods hit and wipe out whole towns. Just last month most of the mid New South Wales coast was hit with massive rain and floods, some got over 250mm in one night. Currently it's bushfires that are raging, here where I am, and in rural Western Australia and South Australia. Add to that Salt-water crocodiles, Taipan and Copperhead snakes, Funnel Web and Red Back spiders, Box-Jelly fish and sharks, who wouldn't want to live 'down under'? Oh forgot to mention one of the most dangerous birds in the world: the cassowary. Thanks all for the kind words. I'm not too worried just yet, no flames on the horizon and I have plenty of water in my dam, just in case.

Wiki page can do with another update, it shows 2.3 as the latest and 2.5 is the only version available. Also the FOMOD text on the wiki uses the term: Standard whereas the actual fomod uses: Original. Yeah I know, petty, but I just can't help myself.

ACCEPTED Ultimate HD Fire Effects (by BuzzDee84)
GrantSP replied to JudgmentJay's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
As mentioned in my general topic, I feel this is not the approach needed for a large guided install that is often taken by newer users. By all means we can explain that either choice is allowed but what is wrong with making a choice ourselves and letting users that can't make it use that? We have the experience to see that there is a choice and either is fine. Some users will be doing the install and be confounded by this step when all that is needed is for "a choice" to be made for them. It's not like I'm asking for a complete re-write of the guide, just a small addition. -
Hmm... don't know why. Does this work?
-
Just took a couple of very poor quality shots of the surrounding hills near my home. As you can see the entire valley is engulfed in smoke. A few fires were started with lightning strikes the other night and as yet they aren't under control. As yet they aren't threatening but I'll be on the watch. EDIT: I can't figure out the damn Dropbox links so I've deleted them, just have a look in the link below.

ACCEPTED Ultimate HD Fire Effects (by BuzzDee84)
GrantSP replied to JudgmentJay's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
As mentioned by a user above, when installing the optional 'candle flame' mod, MO will ask whether to merge or not. The easiest thing to do is just add to the guide and the wiki that merging is preferred. -
SkyUI wiki images are missing, since they're links to the Nexus page they are probably changed on the SkyUI end.

DROPPED High Quality 3D Map (by Ethatron)
GrantSP replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
When installing the 'Normals' package MO will by default use the 'BAIN Installer' dialogue which has the following options: 01 - Low 256x256 02 - Med 512x512 03 - High 1024x1024 04 - Ultra 2048x2048 Docs Perhaps it would be prudent to also include a mention in both the guide and the wiki to choose the 3rd option, since the term '1K normals' may not immediately mean anything to some users when installing it. -
The problem with that is MO isn't triggered to download it. If that is the course users take then the wiki should therefore explain where it went and what to do with it. Remember I'm looking at this as a complete n00b.
-
Nowhere in the guide of the XPMS wiki does it actually explicitly say which version to download. The only instructions about which file to grab are inside the FOMOD instructions: Since there actually is no file on the XPMS downloads page that is named such, I'm amazed new users haven't busted down the forum with inquiries about which one! Perhaps a simple reminder in both the wiki and the guide about which is the preferred option?

ACCEPTED Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade (by kryptopyr)
GrantSP replied to statmonster's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Another minor change in the STEP guide for this mod. Since we are recommending the WAF patch to be installed it might be an idea to just explicitly state to merge this when installing, as that is the most logical option to do. Of course it is possible to make a new mod in MO's left pane, but for new users this seems overly 'creative'.
