  1. Interesting NPCs is also included in REGS and is worth adding to SR:LE imo. A couple of things to note: - Get the 'Dawnguard meshes for Vampire NPCs' under 'Optional' - The (outdated) REGS/SRLE conflict resolution guide says to also install the EFF patch found on the Interesting NPCs Nexus page. It should still work, I recommend installing it - The same guide recommends to install the 'RRR_3DNPC-patch' for Realistic Room Rental. You should have installed RRR with only the ELFX patch if you followed SR:LE, so add the 3DNPC patch to that - While not mentioned in the above guide, I'd also recommend the '3DNPC Alternative Locations' patch under Miscellaneous on the Nexus page, otherwise some of the Alternative Start - Live Another Life locations will be buggy (npcs from both mods fighting each other) - There is a REGS Patch for interesting NPCs that carries over a couple of minor changes from the USKP. You can try looking through this and making your own patch for just SR:LE without the rest of the REGS pack if you're familiar with TES5Edit. If you're not, it's not a huge deal to skip this. - It should load before Immersive Citizens (& its RRR Patch) and ELE Lite. LOOT should handle this correctly though
  2. iNeed can be (de)activated in the MCM as well ^^
  3. As a non-native English speaker I appreciate your initiative and took a quick look at it :p The only words I didn't understand before you made your changes were 'tangential' and 'ancillary' (of which you only replaced the former). While I understood terms like 'included herein' and 'bestowed by' I would never use them myself. I suppose it isn't very hard to look up those words or to use the context in which they are used to deduct their meaning, and I actually like doing so because it forces me to keep learning, but combine that writing style with the relative complex mod that is ENB and such explanations can quickly become intimidating for newcomers. So yeah, I think what you're doing might prove helpful ^^
  4. I also noticed those exact records yesterday, but I can't remember if I ever had them before with earlier versions
  5. You can try that (not merging it) and use Wrye Bash to change SR Conflict Resolution's master requirement from Immersive Citizens - Merged to Immersive Citizens. Assuming the SR Conflict Resolution plugin only needs the main plugin this should work I think. You can then just load the patches after the main file. I asked Neo about this before and he replied that it's at your own risk, so the best (safest) solution would probably be to just go with the older version. EDIT: if you use the unmerged patches (most notably the RRR patch), double check its load order. LOOT placed it after ELE Lite for me so it reverted lighting changes in inns to their vanilla values. Make sure you get the ELE values, it looks so much better! (you will probably spend quite some time in inns with iNeed installed!)
  6. You can just use the enblocal.ini with default settings found in the Wrapper version folder you download from enbdev.com. Then you will need to tailor it for your system using this. I didn't watch the video, but usually you launch Skyrim once initially to generate the default Skyrim.ini & Skyrimprefs.ini. Perhaps that is what he meant?
  7. bearcano, do you by any chance have a mod installed that adds bottles to a small store at the Solitude Docks? I was crashing all the time when I came near solitude after a huge fps drop and originally thought DynDOLOD had something to do with it but then discovered a couple of bottles in the back of the little store (still an exterior area, just inside the store) that were spinning around like they were possessed. Once I picked them up/disabled them my fps recovered and I never crashed again. Very strange. Not sure which mod added them. I use SR:LE, REGS and a couple of additional mods.
  8. If you also have REGS installed: Anna NPCS causes some clipping of several ships in the Solitude Docks. Other than that I had no problems with it in the past (I don't use it atm). I also have Sofia & Arissa installed. The only oddity that occured so far is with Arissa & NPC Knockout Overhaul. Once she enters the bleedout/knockout stage she sometimes doesn't 'revive' or stays in the crawling state for a long time. I think this is related to the 'NPC Follower KO' option. I can't remember exactly, but I think you should leave that at its default setting (disabled?). Then there is a small bug when trying to use Arissa with iNeed's 'Followers purchase food' option. By default this is disabled. This requires you to give money to your follower, but as Arissa won't take my money I get a message from iNeed every 10 seconds or so saying 'Your follower complains about the lack of money to buy food with' (or something similar). Not sure if this applies to other followers as well, I have not yet spoken with Sofia :P
  9. For a moment I thought I had had WB incorrectly installed all this time o.o I also have all tools including WB in their own folder on my HDD
  10. Soon everyone will be forced to use the HRDLC! no more HD packs left!
  11. How did you guys solve the Bleak Falls Barrow puzzle door without looking at the Golden Claw! Just tried combinations until it worked? Or didn't that need to be zoomed in to work :s
  12. Whatever water mod you end up choosing, you should try Purity's waterfalls! I stripped down that esp file so it only contains the waterfall edits (delete all Weather/Imagespace/Region stuff, keep worldspace waterfall edits) and let RW2 take care of all other water (hide all of Purity's non-waterfall related files in MO and forward some RW2 records in TES5Edit). Perhaps you can also make it work with WATER. By default PW is integrated in Purity. With DynDOLOD taking care of the distant waterfalls it looks stunning!
  13. Looks like I'll finally be installing The Witcher 2 in preparation of playing & modding 3 :p I haven't played The Witcher 1 either but I think I'll skip it. About this guide, what is its target audience? People who are already familiar with the vanilla game or completely new players (or both)? I was planning to go in this completely blind, without having played vanilla 3. Would you recommend getting used to the vanilla HUD elements for example before installing mods that change these?
  14. I think you need to find specific cure disease potions for the disease you have, it only removes the general 'cure disease' potion I believe.
  15. Using SR:LE which recommends Tanning xp to be enabled and have yet to experience a CTD. Wolf pelts are my main source of leather too.
  16. I think you need to give up the idea of having a consistent 60 fps in exteriors with a modded Skyrim :p Having said that, the first things I'd try is decreasing fShadowDistance to 2500 in SkyrimPrefs.ini. If that solves it, raise it again until you are satisfied with both the shadow pop in and the fps. Other things: try ugrids=5. I also think that most of those bUseThreadedXXX options are placebo and don't recommend using Papyrus tweaks like iMinMemoryPageSize=100000, iMaxMemoryPageSize=5000000 and iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=4800000000 but that's another story. I feel most of those tweaks come from guides made in like 2012 and have never been actually tested, just copied.
  17. Very informative! I think I'm getting a grasp on the basics now, time to keep myself busy experimenting for a while :) Think I'm going to aim for two presets and compare how they 'feel' while actually playing the game: one preset based on the default High one tweaked slightly for performance for my load order, and one very minimal SkyFalls/SkyMills-esque preset. I appreciate your quick and detailed responses. Even though it is no rocket science like Elianora is saying, I have to admit that the amount of detail involved can be a bit intimidating for 'casual' modders like me. Nothing that can't be solved through patient reading I guess and your manual already addresses many things, but I like seeking confirmation every now and then ;)
  18. Thank you for the reply! About the merging, it looks like I don't need to bother, the relevant mods in my load order are not merged. After re-reading the merging part in the manual I think people can figure out how to solve it. It seems to come down to simply renaming, the only tricky part might be how to deal with changed form ids. Mostly figuring out what the new form id is. Then about performance issues: if I understand correctly a good way to go about it might be to make sure your game isn't already very 'stuttery' without the dynamic lod. So start with disabling the dynamic lod (esp) and if the static objects are already pressing the video memory and causing many stutters, you can try using the 128 res texture variants or resizing DynDOLOD_Atlas_Tamriel.dds for example. I assume running a simple texture optimizer will do the trick as long as aspect ratios are kept intact? I also noticed that tamrieltreelod.dds was twice the size of the one provided by Realistic Aspen Trees (which I would use without this mod) so this might be a potential target to resize too? After making sure that it runs relatively smooth and stable, the esp can be enabled to determine the impact of dynamic lod. Then there's one more thing I'm wondering about, what if I'll determine that dynamic lod has the most impact on my load order and I'd rather just have the static lod. Then I'd miss out on the animated waterfalls and windmills I guess. Instead of reverting to Skyfalls, how would I go about setting up dynamic lod to only touch waterfalls and windmills?
  19. I didn't know about that Astakos, thanks for the tip!
  20. I also wish I had waited a while before buying my 970.. even though it's a different model, knowing its potential issues now whenever I try to solve memory related problems I'm like "but it might be just my 970 causing this so all these hours experimenting with mods and settings are wasted". Perhaps I should instead spend those hours working and saving up money for a new card, it would be so much easier to be 99,99% certain the problems you have aren't hardware related :P Because there is also the possibility of ENBoost using (slower) system memory that causes stuttering and you mistakingly thinking it's because of the card. It still shouldn't CTD in that case though, provided memory settings are set up correctly :/ I hope kryptopyr's suggestion works for you
  21. Hey Sheson, For performance reasons until yesterday I had run DynDOLOD on medium settings but then wanted to see how it would look on high settings. And it's stunning! As far as stunning goes for lods that is :P It's so good that I don't want to go back to medium but performance has become an issue. So I decided to tweak the high preset to my own liking, looking at the mesh rules of both medium and low and the *mesh_count.txt files for inspiration. I already copied the tree and tundradriftwood rules that are added to medium and took note of the 'mountaintrim' example in the manual and added a rule for it. I've since ran the script once and performance seemed to have improved, but not as much as I'd like to! I'm considering using the 128 res texture variants in the next run, would you consider this a waste on the High preset? As in: "Why would you use the High preset if you're not going to use the 256 res textures?!?!" Also, I noticed the mesh rules for Medium that have 'rock' in it. I'm thinking of copying them to my preset, but like the 'mountaintrim' example use 'Static LOD8' for LOD4, 'Static LOD 16' for LOD8 and leave LOD16 empty. Then I read the following in the manual: How do I check if these 'rock' files even have LOD8 and LOD16 settings? For all I know these rules I added might do nothing because they only have a LOD4 version which then doesn't get used. EDIT: I just now noticed the \rock mesh rule in the low preset that confirmed that they have LOD8 and LOD16 versions so my example is a bit bad, sorry for that. I still wonder how I could check this other than by looking at the rules in the three presets. Furthermore, off the top of your head, do you have suggestions which keywords I should look to tweak first when trying to improve performance? I know I could look at the mesh rules in the different presets but as someone who has a lot of experience in tweaking these presets you'd probably know about the ones crippling performance the most. Then a small question about merged mods. I have merged quite a number of mods so before I continue tweaking I'd like to know if there are any pre configured mesh rules that I'm missing because the merged plugins are not recognized. I was wondering if there is a list of mods that have preconfigured mesh rules? I think there is no such list in the manual (or maybe I'm blind). Should I look at mods with a '1' listed in the description of the Nexus page? I know I could also use all the original plugins and then start up the script but I'd rather not if there is another way :P I realize that my questions are not necessarily helping you further your development and I can probably figure out some things on my own, so I hope you don't mind me asking them. Finally, if there is anyone reading this who made their own mesh rules that helped with performance without decreasing the visual quality too much, I'd like to hear it!
  22. Hope it worked out :) The esmifying has to be done after applying the merge script and deleting the initial Navigation Mesh Info Map record from the merged plugin btw. About the renumbering.. I used the advanced settings Neo uses in his guide for every merge: https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Neovalen/Skyrim_Revisited_-_Legendary_Edition/Mod_Merging. I'm not sure how outdated the method is, I still use the method that has been explained in detail in the Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim forum. Especially the posts by keithinhanoi are really helpful.
  23. Now I'm really wondering.. did you try https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54485/? ? They overwrite meshes. My Skyrim has been really stable recently and I have Willows + the critter fixes installed. They are also both included in Skyrim Revisited:Legendary so you'd expect more people reporting crashes. Or perhaps it's just that particular location and no one has met the conditions for crashing so far..
  24. Disabling ENBoost works for me :P But that leads to crashes obviously
  25. I think many people have this problem :p I don't think you can avoid this with only 2 GB VRAM and 4 (8?) GB RAM. You can try experimenting with different values under [MEMORY] in enblocal.ini and see what that does for you. For reference, with mostly 2k textures, 4GB VRAM and 16 GB RAM I still have these hiccups when textures pop in initially. Once they have done so, I can turn around my camera 360 degrees without issue.
