  1. Why have you both posted this in the Amidianborn thread and here Bro ? Look in the other thread for the possible cause.
  2. A bit nitpicking imo. The parallax is mostly nicely done. There are the odd mistakes if you go looking for them. Since parallax is a texture then the only potential conflict would be from mod priority order. Also there are some slight parallax bugs even with ENB on... it is unavoidable since neither the games or ENB´s is 100% optimized to be working properly in all cases.
  3. Good read that... I could say the same about avast! I never had anything but trouble with that one! But well all AV products change every year, so grudges you had years ago does not make sense really. Only thing I would never take seriously is MSE....it is like on the first page of hacking 101.... make sure MSE cannot see your malware etc. OnT: I never have more then 5 tabs up at any one time... I guess I have always closed down tabs after I do not use them any more. Kinda surprisingly neat when it comes to that.
  4. Used to use firefox... but then it just got bloated and big IE wannabe in my opinion...there was just a lot of stuff I did not need etc. and then I tried chrome out, and been using it ever since... it just appeals more to me. Then again my needs are not big... I do not require all sorts of fancy plugins etc. I just need my bar with frequent links, and my start page.. then I am happy. Got norton cheap with my Mobo... so using its plugin for all the general security stuff... it is a bit slow at the first page startup of the day, but that is my own fault.
  5. Entirely agree with you on that count... my previous one only died this january (it had lasted about that long) since the mobo died when I put in a new gfx card... or perhaps it was the PSU.... did not have the parts to properly check it. But before that I had that PSU issue... and I also helped out a mate with his, and he also had it.... so annoying to miss 2A, since it automatically slows down the card when it detects that it cannot get enough power. Hence I always advocate single rail over multiple one PSU´s... they normally cost a bit more, but then again I also advocate that people get gold certified ones even though they are silly expensive. But where I live at least power is not cheap, so the difference pays for itself during its lifetime.
  6. Only thing I dislike about the bedsheet is that the normal map seems off... the whole thing lacks a bit of depth. Might be that there just aint enough pixels to properly show it. Then again fur is really hard to do properly since it both has to have depth and a clean polished look all at once.
  7. Or just one rail with enough amps to run a small apartment.... give or take ;) I personally hate multiple rail PSU´s... id rather pay extra for the single rail ones. Mostly because they are not steamlined for a given card setup, and once a new generation of cards come out their power requirements change. So annoying to have 22A on each rail only to find out that the new cards now require 24A each to run optimally...
  8. Also it can NEVER be said often enough. Make sure you got enough power (Amp´s) on your +12V rails that power the GFX cards... It is possible to power up the machine without any error sounds and still have too little power on the rails, which will default the card to a minimum performance setting. This is even more vital when running multi card setups!
  9. I can run STEP at 1440p and have an average FPS of about 45 with a single 660 GTX.... No ENB ofc. Using default ini settings. If I optimize the ini´s then I can get even more out of it. Skyrim just does not benefit from this. Only if you are doing some serious ENB quality action etc. does it make sense. Also since you mentioned it.... Since Crysis 1 then that game has lost all rights to be used as a benchmark for anything. That initial engine was so woefully badly optimized that it just hurts to think about. Even the later games had some effects that would bottleneck even the top end of cards due to bad optimization of their shaders, since they decided to only use DX9 due to console releases. In general this is true for all games of the previous few years.... they have tried to squize every last bit out of dx9 compatible only shaders, while they could be done in dx10/11 more efficiently. Most of the time you do not notice this unless you go to high resolutions. But even then its a case of just bad optimization, since they only optimize their codes for 1080p since that is the console resolution.
  10. Since there is no additional info then I would venture to guess that they are all simply scared! I mean there are dragons and vampires etc. about, and the city guard are woefully lacking in terms of gear! Irony and jokes might be present! :o
  11. Okay this is just too tempting... I am fairly sure that your 310 GHz CPU is rather hot, and not really to be used for consumer products, perhaps return it to the R&D department of AMD :P That aside. Running two cards with only a 500W power supply you could technically experience that you do not have enough power to run everything at full power. That would be my first thought. Since performance wise it should be decent enough for skyrim even with a decent ENB on top. Again for the CPU then I am fairly sure that the FX series are for servers and not for desktops... but might be wrong in that regard.
  12. Only problem you might have on using CoT are the choice of sound overhaul... since they overwrite the same entries. But as I recall then there are patches for most up, so it should not be painful to add CoT in manually.
  13. You can just activate those mods via the console... they all have a quest you can activate in order to have them on. Most can be activated via MCM these days too. Everything can be done via the console! Master it and it saves ya weeks of testing time! :)
  14. In terms of complexity then only a few civil war quest line areas come to mind where you would properly have some issues... but as for just running about in the game and playing the odd quest line then not really. Also if you experience issues then you can most likely just disable the a few script based mod via their menu until you are past the area. If you want to test general game stability with your ugrid settings just use the console command "coc" to enter a cell from the main menu and test out your mod list. In general you can test out memory swapping by setting your move speed up by alot and then run about the world until you CTD or freeze. in the console then its "player.setav speedmult 500" for a 500% increase in movespeed... after you hit run one time. Do not go much higher then that... since then you pass cells so fast that nothing even loads ;)
  15. First off.... hats off to the nice setup of the post! I really did like that you had standard deviations! Now to the ugrids issue. Helgen intro is a B*** since it is so detailed. It is by far one of the most detailed sequences in the entire game. This also is why you should NEVER have any mods activated at this time in the game at all. Most mods are disabled through the MCM menu, but any amount of scripting etc. will cause all sorts of problems, since the game is already running in overdrive on that account. Increaseing the ugrids means that even more scripts have to run since more cells are loaded! This is most likely the cause for the CTD. Memory wise you would not notice much of a drop, since most resources are already loaded in and the diversity in cells in the region is not that large. Hope that helps and once again! Nice post!
  16. The only affect I have ever seen from texture size is in loading new cells. Hence while moving around the average FPS drops due to texture size. But once loaded in and you stand and look at the same area then there should not be any noticeable difference. At least I have never seen one, and it i makes little sense to me why there should be. In terms of this mod then yeah if it is a silly large texture and you move about the texture continuously have to be loaded which like you say require a longer amount of time since its uncompressed... Also as I understand the mod then it also adds more objects that need to be rendered in the distance which obviously will require more in terms of FPS. Hence why I said.. it only makes sense if the FPS drop is on average while moving around! Since once a texture is loaded in and you are not loading in any more textures then the FPS you get should not be affected by it, since there is no data traffic after that point. The only things affecting performance in that case are the number of objects, shadow calculations, shader calculations, AA etc.
  17. Added spoiler tags for ya. In the future please do add them yourself! :) Makes for a much easier read! As for the issue. In general for skyproc patchers you should run BOSS before running them, so that everything is where it is supposed to before hand. Also if possible then SUM does make it all a lot easier since its just one .esp instead of many, and it needs to be loaded last for most mod lists. Also it would help to have the precise error message you are getting. The most normal errors are due to the following. If you have any missing or unsorted masters then the process will fail. Also any bashed patch needs to be generated prior to running the skyproc patcher. Speaking of that then you should have a bashed patch made, since you have a few mods that alter the leveled lists, and nothing which merge the changes properly. As I recall then reproccer only alters the values of items, it does not merge the lists. But it has been ages since I used it last, so perhaps that changed.
  18. lol Gotta love it when people who are used to Month/Day/Year get confused about it. ;) Guess I really gotta try to play the fallout series one day...Then I guess this would all make sense to me.
  19. I provided a guide a few pages back on how to fix that Nearox.
  20. Bro : Yeah Skyrim HD does. As for the texture I think its just too transparent. But still an improvement over vanilla.
  21. Textures should not affect FPS once loaded... So going to assume you mean on average while running about in the game.
  22. You need to resize it before uploading it. I downscale all my images from 1440p to 720p before I upload them to imgur. But yeah at least make it a linked image I think is best for this forum. And sure I always need more beta testers! Will handle it in pms instead of here though.
  23. There is also such a thing as producing errors by keeping the hardware operating at FULL capacity for a prolonged period of time. Also like monty says then it can damage the hardware. The hardware is not designed to be used at that capacity at all times for extended periods of time. Remember that keeping it in this state will produce additional heating, which would never be there under normal use. I find that a simple overnight... 6-7 hours of memtest finds all errors if they are there. Normally it finds them rather quickly... Doing an all day test would increase the chance of issues happening due to the test itself. Also during normal use then the memory is the only component that is more or less always in use. The CPU, GPU etc. all never run at 100% capacity ALL the time. So it would not make sense to full load test for that long since it does not reflect what you are testing for.
  24. Nah I did understand what you meant, I just wanted to make sure that the overhead of just having ENB in was not different from version to version. Which it is not. There is a slight decrease using the latest version however. This with only effect on, and everything else disabled, and only a single lite enbeffect.fx file as additional shader. The difference is roughly 4 FPS for me on average. (I do not count large drops from moving around etc. These values are just from standing still and turning the camera around.) So instead of 43 FPS i get 39.. and instead of 50 I get 46. It is true that this difference is smaller back in v.119 however.. there it is between 1-2 FPS on my system. The ENB AF takes up roughly 1-2 FPS when set at 16... I cba to test if the driver based one can do better that then. This is still with ENBoost activated. If I disable all graphics so its only ENBoost, then there is no drop in performance, as expected. So conclusion is that there is a drop when using the latest versions with just parallax... but I can only record in the order of 5 FPS at the most during stand still testing.... I cba to do a full running around checking for stuttering etc. since that is vastly more complex.
  25. Ah yeah.. red/purpleish sky... how I do not miss you! I only maintained it in about 5-10 weathers out of the 500 or so... then its fine. This is my color. I believe the weather is xxx58148 The most clear and bright weather type that CoT has. If I just use the default colors there, and the same settings it would be more or less white from horizon to the very top.Â
