  1. Yes you are correct. All other texture mods should have priority after the HDDLC. If you have any issues with any textures you can just move the HDDLC down to higher priority and it will overwrite everything!
  2. In general I always find the grass and flora too saturated for my ENB, but I know how to fix it. Just hats off to vurt for doing the hard work! Changing colors is the easiest part of it! Also lovely compare session there tiger! Must have taken a while to do!
  3. I would disagree with MT for a few reasons. 1: What do you want to test? Its a case of either.. it works or it does not, and this is dependent upon mod lists mainly. STEP:Core and extended do not stress the engine enough to cause these issues if you follow the guidelines. 2: There are still a few issues with it, and due to its technical nature then troubleshooting is not easy... like the graphical artifact issue presented earlier. More are bound to come later on. In general I do not think that any technical solutions should just be rushed into the guide. 3: Just like ENBoost, this is another technical change to the engine that should only be required if you want to do advanced modding, since that is the only area where you need the extra buffer in stability. And lastly... what do you want to test! :D
  4. Making as solved.
  5. Done. Will have to do for now! :)
  6. Yeah 4Gb of RAM will most likely be at the core of your issues with CTD´s... You most likely just have way too much stuff in.
  7. Dunno if this should just be marked as solved.. would properly be a good idea to get this info into a sticky on the utility forums.
  8. GIMP or Photoshop ? If you want it on model then nifskope can do that.
  9. Ah I recalled wrong then! :) Thank you Kelmych!
  10. The problem with arrows in skyrim is that there is only one hitbox for the PC... they do the same amount of dmg. if they hit your head or your foot. I love to play on high difficulty and think out my moves as much as the next guy... but one shot arrows are just not fun. Just like it does not keep being fun to oneshot everybody while in stealth for the entire game. Arrows in general have a dispropotional amount of dmg. compared to anything else in the game, but most of it comes from the perks.. and just a slight lowering of the percentages fixes a great deal of it, so arrows are still deadly, but not instant deadly. The only thing I play with with instant kill chance is two handed power attacks to the face without blocking, in light armor....Since that is fair enough... considering how easy it is to either block or dodge two handed attacks.
  11. Well partly true anyways. Artifacts like that are normally due to memory errors... bad read/write orders etc. And those always do happen with bad memory chips, and or OC and overheating etc. However if that is the case then artifacts should also happen in other applications... and you should most of the time get the annoying message that the video driver has been reset in order to prevent a BSOD. In this case then it is properly an issue related to what the mod does to the memory management of the game. Would properly be a legit case of "bug" to report to the author.
  12. Well driver settings are not really post processing ... but yeh when it looks like an AA problem and smells like one... then it most likely is one! :) Glad to help.
  13. Well could be transparency AA messing up... try to disable that from your drivers if you have it on. Also is it only grass that has it, or is it every type of flora?
  14. Any post processing going on ?
  15. Same reason why Boris just cba. to deal with nexus anymore. Just way too many users who run into issues that they think this is supposed to help with. When at the end of the day it is just because they have way to unrealistic mod lists and settings. Advanced mod lists is not just plug n play. It requires that you spend a few weeks on getting to know all the basics.
  16. The concept is not a serious deviation from vanilla... it is just a matter of fixing a feature that is obviously broken from the start. Why would you ever want to put a petty soul into a grand gem if you also have a petty gem ?
  17. No that would be overkill. You only need to extract the textures.bsa... you do not really need to take any of the others out. Just let MO unpack them (Or another program that can unpack it), create a .7z and make a mod and install it using MO. No need to copy it into the data folder... since that kinda ruins the point of using MO in the first place.
  18. the HDDLC is 1k already max. as I recall. 2k is out of the question if you do not have a 64 bit OS. Even 1k mainly would most likely be pushing it while in exteriors.
  19. marked as solved
  20. Yeah it can be fixed by manually editing the mesh locations, and the UV maps etc.. but it more or less have to be done manually on every single one... and that is rather tedious work for something that is not that noticeable... even less so if you use any mod that makes dungeons darker. Also altering UV maps is a pain... there are no simple ways to do it in nifskope etc. you have to export the meshes to another 3d program, redo the UV maps and then import them back in again.
  21. Empowered magic also includes it, and as I recall quite a few other magic system overhauls also do. Even if you include it like this, then at higher levels etc. then dmg. does not scale with skill like it does for weapons, hence vanilla magic at high levels is just silly underpowered... except for the highest level spells, which require so much magicka that you can only throw one or two anyways. So you still need some other mod to fix this issue... and then I just take one that fixes both at once.
  22. It is just texture and mesh replacements, so it will not harm to do so, but the resolution of them will be the same as in the HDDLC. So if you have such a low memory machine that you cannot run with the HDDLC then you should not install them.
  23. Use loose files instead of bsa archives ? If you absolutely must have them in there then use another utility to repackage them into one.
  24. Part of the reason I have altered the bow tree so that the crit and dmg. nodes are not as powerful... since guess what... Falmer archers get them too, and they will one shot you on higher difficulties.. since well the scaling modifier is not really designed around the extra 400% dmg they do. And call me old fashioned... but any game where you get one shot is just not fun! It is also not fun to oneshot enemies in a game like skyrim all the time!
  25. Does it also fix your menu crashing ?
