  1. Hence why I said ... Since imo we should not have a million ENB presets each having their own seperate mod thread. Since it is kinda a grey area... the mod is ENB, not the settings. And I would like to keep all ENB related stuff in the ENB forum... so was just a temporary option until a new dedicated subforum can be created for it! Did just not have the time to handle it all when I moved it! But I will leave it her for the next few days and we will see what happens.... if nothing does, then I move it back! :oÂ
  2. That is what I would call a ..... bad test :P
  3. And moving it to ENB. Better to have all this stuff in one location! Perhaps we should make a subforum for this sort of thing.
  4. Well since when you use multi card setups you each card should only render half the frame, then obviously the load would be about half of what one card can do. ;) Bottlenecks are normally easy to spot, since they cause stuttering, long load times, or just an upper limit to the FPS that you cannot get above. All computers have bottlenecks, the only real question is where!
  5. Could not agree more.... If you want a modded skyrim you need all DLC. They have been on -75% quite a few times now, and they will again this christmas. There is simply no point in catering to people who cannot find that kinda money.... I mean at that price then its less then going out to have a burger at a fast food joint, or ordering a pizza.
  6. I honestly do not understand this aversion some people have to the fact that their GPU operate at peak levels. If you buy quality hardware, then the card is supposed to be designed to operate at these levels for years without incident. And if there is one then you have warranty. I know for AMD this can be a bit different, since they have a long history with sub optimal cooling solutions, which can cause some noise, but this is not AMD´s fault, it is again the specific brands that deal with that. Assuming you play Skyrim and it operates at peak, then you what... play a few hours a day, tops! I would think any card can handle that just fine! Even for many months. Again if it cannot, then you have issues with bad hardware, and that is what warranty is there for. Also this does not even mention the fact that those GPU load figures and temperatures are to be taken with a grain of salt. Example. My friend has an AMD card... it can say that it is 90C hot from one second to the end depending on what it claims it is doing (This can be something as silly as playing a card game). Yet if you actually measure the real temperature it is hardly ever above 80C. (Not to mention that thermodynamically is makes no sense that a temperature fluctuation of 20-40C over a few seconds take place. )
  7. Kinda also need the ENB on, and crossfire off option! ;) But yeah AMD has the short end when it comes to this.
  8. Yeah? I would not say that its the mod managers etc. that have problems, rather it is the "new/casual" players who think its as easy as the Steam workshop tries to make it look. But the reality is that it is not! You have to think and do a bit of work to alter the game. Almost all mods have clear requirements, and compatibility sections (up to a point), but it requires that people actually read them.
  9. Having lydia wander off is half the fun! :D I had her comming back with dragons, dungeon bosses etc.... I think there is just a bug in the game somewhere with her! :) Me and my freind just decided that this game was about Lydias adventures, and we where just the awesome sidekick who had to deal with all the crap that happened because of her!
  10. If you want to run with 2k textures and above and remain stable on the memory side of things, you need to use ENBoost. It is correct that it is included in all newer ENB presets. The results are not inconclusive, the vast majority of people who cant make it work, cannot do so because they try to use weird 3rd party software on top of ENB which causes it to crash, behave in weird ways etc. Add to that that you actually need to spend some time tweaking the settings so they fit your hardware. (It must be mentioned that if you are running on really old hardware and still run 32bit OS etc. then you will have even more issues since this is not what it is designed around.) This all means that the average nexus user will not have it working, and then go blame their faults on everything else. Put in the time and learn what it actually does and how to set it up properly, and you will have a more stable game memory wise.
  11. You could also just make unreal performance friendly if you prefer that. Kinda wrong in oh so many ways to say that one is for performance and one is for quality. They are both quality pieces of work. The FPS count can be the same for both with identical performance settings. Also you could just increase the ambient interior lighting values to fit your monitor if you cant see anything. Also you will need the particle patch from mindflux for ANY ENB preset you use, since it fixes meshes that have wrong shader flags. Hence the meshes will cause issues regardless of which preset you use. The "only" thing that is not constant with ENB´s are the sun textures... every ENB always have to be optimized for the sun textures you are using if the Preset author does not include a link or the actual textures!
  12. This post should remain general guidelines, not include specific mod solutions etc. Since that would just make the scope of the post too massive, and nothing would be done. If individual mods have issues etc. then that sort of thing belongs in the mods debate thread. Also no worries Root! There is a reason why I have a few drafts laying about in the back of my mind on this topic! God knows that is very easy to just say which mods might be the cause, since that is normally the case! But sadly that kinda ruins the point in of a general information thread! :) This was also the reason I moved the other Solstheim one, since it was just too specific an issue, hence I did not feel it belonged up there with the sticked posts! In my little vision for the support threads, then we will consolidate the general stuff we know into sticky threads, and that will hopefully make sure that the amount of repetition will not be as large. And I think this overall is a very nice start to that!
  13. Well part of what I would change... and why it has taken me a while to get this sort of post up, was to avoid the pointing... requires some diplomatic language after all! :) Since like Bro says, then it is not just one mod that is at fault. Especially not when it comes to combat. Combat is just a nice example due to the many scripts that are used. But atm. I have more fun dealing with texture creation... and I did forum stuff last night! So will edit later perhaps!
  14. Beat me too it! You sneaky you! :p Also what is up with the colors! Edit: also there are a few misconceptions and slight errors.. but we can talk about those later! :)
  15. Moved here from the general support thread. Seems more relevant in here somehow. Gonna leave it stickied so its easy to find in the future.
  16. Unstickied this and moved it here, as it is no longer required as a sticky over at the support forum. Anybody with this issue should be linked to the guide posted there instead, since it offers a solution for any problem of this type.
  17. Unsticked this thread as part of my optimization of the support subforum. I plan on having a new general ILS thread up soon to take its place. Going to leave it open, since this particular transition can still be more bothersome then most!
  18. I see no reason for any removing. But going to lock this down, and mark it as solved, since there is not much more too it then what have already been covered, in the thread so far.

    SSAO Talk

Created this so that you can continue your talk about the finer details of SSAO and raytraceing in here instead. :)Â There that should do it ! Knock ya self out! :)Â
  20. While interesting, then this conversion is going to get moved to another thread (Called SSAO Talk in banter inn), since it no longer deals with the pack in question! :)
  21. Both could be right, you can pre render a particle system so it can run on both CPU and GPU respectively. Guess it is a bit of both worlds. The way I think about it is the following. You can add more and more particle systems via the CK. Depending on a number of things, then perhaps the CPU can get into trouble first since it has to load all the objects into the game. Or perhaps the GPU will get into trouble because it has to render it all once loaded.
  22. Would just mean that someone would have to make up a decent questionnaire... but those are mighty tricky to do properly, and even when they are done properly you need to have a plan on what to use the answers for.
  23. Just because you increase the MAX limit does not mean that 8000 particles are used... if they where they would kill anything not a super computer who had time to think about it. I believe we already did cover this in a pm too bro ?
  24. Well that is about the best you can get at that resolution with that card I think. Other then that then you have to start reduce the amount of rendered objects to get more. Basically skylighting controls how intense the shadows outside.
  25. You should not. The patch includes all weathers and sounds.
